Inverness Botanic Gardens
OK for children and family viewing The Inverness Botanic Gardens are open all year. They were formerly known as the Floral Hall and Gardens and are within walking distance of the city centre also you can get to them via a nice drive by the River Ness. They have a café, free car parking and no entry fee but a donation box is near the entrance. Not as big as other botanic gardens but just as nice, apart from a few steps in the Cactus &Tropical House it is all on the flat easy walking.
The impressive glasshouses have plants ranging from the tropical rainforests to scorched desert and the Tropical House plantings are a mixture of familiar and spectacular plants with a waterfall that cascades into a pond filled with Koi Carp. In the cactus house the amazing shapes of cacti are planted among 75 tons of rock. Locally raised plants fill the gardens and a good selection are available at very reasonable prices many of which are cultivated by their gardeners.

This is a photo video of me and my friend Barry (bazza) when we went to the botanic gardens in Inverness Scotland where we live. We went on March 4th 2016 and we had fun, I was taking photos of natural environment photography for college. 10 Things to Do on your Family Trip to Inverness, Scotland - Capital of the Scottish Highlands

During our MONTH IN SCOTLAND we did a LOT of family activities. In 10 Things to Do on your Family Trip to Inverness, Scotland - Capital of the Scottish Highlands we show you just some of the things to do at Inverness. Most lists focus on the day trips from Inverness you can take around the little city near Loch Ness. And there are a lot of things to do in the area, but we wanted to focus on the city itself. It's a charming, rather small, city on the Ness river where it flows into the Moray Firth. It's leafy and green in the summer and I think one of our favorite things was just walking along the river. It was so peaceful and beautiful. Your first stop is at Inverness Castle which provides a great view and is a great place for things to do Inverness. We hope you will enjoy these fun family activities, most of which are free, and let us know on the website, instagram, or facebook all the things we missed.

Inverness Cathedral (St Andrew's), Scotland
Inverness Cathedral, also known as the Cathedral Church of Saint Andrew, is a cathedral of the Scottish Episcopal Church situated in the city of Inverness in Scotland close to the banks of the River Ness.
It is the seat of the Bishop of Moray, Ross and Caithness, ordinary of the Diocese of Moray, Ross and Caithness.
The cathedral is the northernmost cathedral in mainland Britain (Dornoch Cathedral is not actually a cathedral) and was the first new Protestant cathedral to be completed in Great Britain since the Reformation.

City Snapshot: Inverness in Winter
Inverness is the Highland city which holds many treasures. Get lost in the emporium of words that is Leakey’s, Scotland’s largest second-hand book shop, or be transported to exotic climes as you explore Inverness Botanic Gardens. Not far from the city you can behold magnificent Loch Ness, see the tumbling Plodda Falls, and afterwards, warm up with a fine Highland malt. When night draws in, dine out in the city and take in the twinkling lights reflecting off the River Ness.
