Ledges State Park Boone Iowa
Made a quick visit up to Ledges State Park to see what it was all about. For the 3-4 hours of hiking I managed to take enough footage to put this short little video together for you.
If you're in the area I highly recommend you visit the park. If you're into bird watching, hiking, fishing, nature photography, camping, flowers you'll need to check this place out.
A unique feature of this park is that in some parts of the park you can drive across the small creek in three different places. Also, it's a great place to take the kids to let them run in the water (bring water shoes, rocks can be sharp in some places). Great place to have a picnic too.
They also have a little area where you can see what the prairies used to look like several hundred years ago. I think I would rather be stranded in the Jungle after my experience lol. I did not know that weeds could grow that tall and the bugs could be that many.
I recommend a visit. The picnic tables next to the stream/creek is worth the visit especially if you have kids.
The only negative (if this is a negative) is keep a watchful eye on your kids, vehicles like to speed up quickly before they cross the stream/creek. The road leading down into the little valley (if you wanna call it that) is winding. So just be mindful of that.

A sought-after wedding venue, the Dubuque Arboretum & Botanical Gardens at Marshall Park in Dubuque, Iowa, is the only arboretum and botanical garden in the United States staffed entirely by volunteers. More than 300 dedicated individuals maintain the trees, plants and shrubs, and seed-gifts which are all labeled throughout the gardens. This video was created for a September 2013 fundraiser and features the organization's leadership and volunteers who explain their involvement at the Arboretum. They encourage others to Come Grow With Us.
Quietly nestled on the city's northwest side and featuring more than 60 different types of gardens (including Rose, Hosta, English, Japanese, Herb, and more), the grounds continue to grow and expand every year.
The Arboretum hosts a free-will supported Music in the Gardens Concert Series (6:30p Sunday evenings) throughout the summer months. Entrance fee: $0 | FREE. Open daily throughout the year dawn to dusk.

Des Moines Botanical Gardens Story -- How Merit Resources Makes Employment Easy
We can't have life on Earth without plants.
It's been an honor and a privilege to get to know and work with Stephanie Jutila, the President and CEO of the Greater Des Moines Botanical Gardens. Their passion is for teaching our community about plants and the vital role they play in our lives.
That's why they've partnered with Merit Resources. Instead of spending time with so many of the required Human Resources administrative tasks, they've hired Merit to take care of this so that they can serve the public in doing what they do best.
Our day-to-day responsibility here is to teach people about plants and having Merit as a resource and an HR partner allows us to keep our focus on our mission and in our dedication to teaching people about plants.
With Merit Resources on board, we have an entire team. We have a suite of people we can call with questions or to process our payroll and new employee paperwork. It's a great relief to know that we have 24/7 support.

Amana Colonies|Iowa|USA|Historic|2019|4K
The Amana Colonies are seven villages on 26,000 acres (11,000 ha) located in Iowa County in east-central Iowa, United States: Amana (or Main Amana), East Amana, High Amana, Middle Amana, South Amana, West Amana, and Homestead. The villages were built and settled by German Pietists, who were persecuted in their homeland by the German state government and the Lutheran Church. Calling themselves the True Inspiration Congregations (German: Wahre Inspirations Gemeinden),[3] they first settled in New York near Buffalo in what is now the town of West Seneca. However, seeking more isolated surroundings, they moved to Iowa (near present-day Iowa City) in 1856. They lived a communal life until 1932.
