Shiraz is often referred to as the Cultural Capital of Iran or the city of gardens as it is home to many important poets and offers some beautiful gardens. More than that it used to be the actual capital of Persia for quite some time and therefore offers an interesting mix of sights.
We used our time in the city to explore the best things to do in Shiraz by focussing on attractions and spots that are interesting for younger travelers paired with important historic landmarks such as Persepolis or the Karim Khan citadel. But we also got to try some Iranian fast food and traditional vegetarian dishes to show you the whole spectra of Persian cuisine.
During our 4 days is Shiraz we experienced some very impressive sights such as the colorful Nasir ol Molk mosque in the early morning or the Shah Cheragh at night. Beside typical tourist attractions we wanted to see what the real Iran is like and reached out to local friends for further recommendations. This way we got to go to places locals use to hangout, have a coffee or simply relax.
This part of the trip was executed within 4 days - following I list all the places I visited & Things to do in Shiraz:
- Vakil Mosque
- Vakil Bazaar
- Karim Khan Citadel
- Shah Sheraq Mosque & Holy Shrine
- Nasir ol Molk Mosque
- Eram Garden
- Chamran Grand Hotel
- Fallodeh
- Tomb of Hafez
- Haft Khan Restaurant
- Persepolis
- Qavam Restaurant
This video is part of „Inside Iran“ - a documentary series introducing you to popular and unknown sights / things to do in Iran as well as the Persian cuisine and the super friendly locals we met on our trip from Tehran to Isfahan, Shiraz and Yazd. With this series I want to create a better understanding of the country and it’s people without focussing on politics or religion.

ROAD TRIP MIDDLE EAST: Iran (Part 2 - Shiraz)
After filming in Dubai last episode, I set off for Iran to start my road trip across the Middle East. My journey began in the beautiful city of Shiraz, known for flowers and poetry. Come with me as I explore my first Persian city as a female alone - the food, the architecture, the markets of the bazaar, but mostly, the people. I stayed in the magical Darbe Shazdeh boutique hotel, where I met an inspiring couple from London, travelling Iran with their children as a family. I also became friends with Faranak, the owner of the hotel, who gave me fascinating insight into life as a woman, business owner and advocate of tourism to Iran. I hope you enjoy this travelogue. I still have much to learn about Iran's history and politics and culture, however, I hope that maybe I might encourage you to consider the positives and beauty of this frequently misunderstood country.

Iran Road Trip - From Shiraz to Esfahan to Kashan + Tehran
My friend and I took a road trip from Shiraz up to Tehran in June of 2019. Iran has been on my bucket list for quite some time so it was amazing to be able to discover this gorgeous country.
For the trip from Shiraz we had a guide/driver, Mr Behrang Yaghoobi ( who came to use through Iran Doostan Tours which I highly recommend.
As this is a verrryyyy long video I made a index below so feel free to use it.
Shiraz:
00:05 Eram Garden
00:30 Naranjestan Museum
01:31 Nasir ol Molk Mosque (Pink Mosque)
02:56 Vakil Bath
04:15 Karimkhan Citadel
05:20 Afif Abad Garden
06:12 Persepolis
10:07 Necropolis
11:06 Pasargade
Esfahan:
11:29 Imam Square *unfortunately I wrote Iman in the video
16:46 Chehel Sotoun Palace
18:30 Monarjonban
20:13 Si-o-se-pol Bridge
21:46 Abyaneh
Kashan:
25:03 Fin Garden
26:17 Tabatabaei
29:33 Oeei Underground City also known as Noosh-Abad Underground City
Tehran:
32:37 Golostan Palace
38:05 Negarestan Garden & Museum
39:22 Sa'dabad Palace Complex
Here are a couple of tips to make your trip even better:
1. bring your own water bottle. There are plenty of free filling stations available to help you stay hydrated
2. men can wear full length trousers and a t-shirt. For women you will need to be fully covered and wear a head covering. Longer kimono style tops and long cardigans with full sleeves or 3/4 length sleeves are ideal. I also do not recommend silk scarves as they have a tendency to slip
3. bring either US Dollars or Euros to convert when you are there. It is better to bring more than you think you will need.
4. go with an open mind
Iran is a truly beautiful country so make sure to enjoy it.

Traveling Iran Persian Gulf Highway Road Trip Middle East 2020
Traveling Iran Persian Gulf Highway Road Trip Isfahan To Tehran Middle East 2020. I'm traveling in Iran Middle East. My journey on Persian Gulf Highway also known as Freeway 7. It is located in the Isfahan, Qom and Tehran provinces of Iran. Its length is 478 Km. Iran is an important country in the Middle East. My road trip is between Isfahan and Tehran City. Tourists from different countries travel on this road in a large number. This part of central Iran is looking like the Wild West Movies Area. Landscapes, Mountains, least populated and a straight road. There are many tourist attractions in central Iran. Well known places to visit. Iran is a safe country for tourism even there are many Sanctions on Iran by the USA. Fuel is very cheap in Iran. Mostly Persian language is spoken in Iran. People are friendly and hospital.
