Irchester Country Park in Northamptonshire
Exploring Irchester country park
So we went to check out Irchester country park last weekend and it didn't disappoint. It was a really fun adventure and not like any other country parks we have been to so far. This place is more like huge forest with lots of different paths to take. As you will see in this video we took some hard routes by leaving the normal path ways and venturing deep into the forest. Enjoy!

Wellingborough
Wellingborough is a market town and borough in Northamptonshire, England, situated 11 miles from the county town of Northampton. The town is situated on the north side of the River Nene, most of the older town is sited on the flanks of the hills above the river's current flood plain. Due to frequent flooding by the River Nene, the town was mostly built above the current level of the flood plain. Originally named Wendelingburgh, the town was founded in the early 6th century Saxon period by a Saxon leader called Waendel and is mentioned in the Domesday Book under the name of Wendelburie. The town was granted a royal market charter in 1201, by King John of England.
As of 2011 the census states the borough has a population of 75,400, which the town itself accounts for 49,087. The town of Wellingborough is governed by The Borough Council of Wellingborough, with their office located in the town centre. The town is twinned with Niort in France, and with Wittlich in Germany.

A Short Flight at Dusk - Irchester, Northamptonshire UK
A short flight at dusk in the village of Irchester, Northamptonshire UK. I was hoping for a more spectacular sunset, given that the day had been nice and sunny. However, the clouds were building, tthe winds were gathering speed and the darkness was coming in rather quickly.

Wellingborough Museum, 6th Annual Bus Rally & Irchester Narrow Gauge Railway Museum 21/4/2018
A fantastic rally of old buses held at Wellingborough Museum, held by the 794 group, here's a link to a Documentary on their bus 794 I recommend you watch it.
I went on several old buses up to Wollaston, Earls Barton, Irchester Country Park Narrow Gauge Railway Museum and back, throughout the day for free, but made a little donation. The event is in April at the Museum each year and has been since 2013.
As I say I went up to Irchester and looked around the Narrow Gauge Railway Museum. The Irchester Narrow Gauge Railway Museum is a small railway museum and metre gauge railway near Wellingborough in Northants, England. The area around Wellingborough was rich in iron ore. A quarry opened in Irchester around 1872 to extract the iron ore, which was mainly processed in the local iron works. Ironstone continued to be mined up until closure of the quarries in 1969.
In 1971 the Northamptonshire County Council opened the Irchester Country Park, which is located on the site of the former opencast ironstone quarries. The park has a network of walks, a visitors centre and a children's play area in a grass and woodland setting. The museum was set-up within the park in 1987, inside a purpose built building to the west of the original ironstone railway maintenance yard. Access to the museum is along a footpath which follows the line of the ironstone railway trackbed. There are over 40 items of narrow gauge railway rolling stock including four steam locomotives and six diesel locomotives. A 250-metre long demonstration track with a gauge of 1,000 mm (3 ft 3 3⁄8 in) has been laid in the park.[1] The original water tank has been recreated using a tank of similar design, complete with lettering matching the original, to show the visiting public how it would have looked .
The event was over the weekend I was 21st April 2018 on the Saturday, buses include:
