An Interview with Linda Woods of Ireland Walk, Hike and Bike
Ireland Walk, Hike, Bike with South West Walks Ireland (southwestwalksireland.com) arranged our 9-day Kerry Way hike to our specifications; shortening distances, adding in extra days at the beginning, etc. The Kerry Way, whether you walk, hike, bike or travel by car begins in Killarney and owner, Linda Woods came from Tralee to meet us at Sunny Bank B&B, as well as send off a group of Brits who were beginning their hike through her company.
I'll let Linda give information and tell you in her own words what hiking in Ireland is about and then watch the upcoming videos to absorb her knowledge and hike with us. Thanks Linda, for a wonderful trip!

Linda Woods
Linda is the founder of Ireland Walk Hike Bike and, also, one of our guides.
Linda has been hiking the hills of Ireland since she was about 6 years of age! Introduced to the wonders of Ireland by her father, she gradually realised just how special Ireland is as a country & how little “tourists” really see of this wonderful country. Coming originally from Dublin, Linda undertook a Tourism Studies Course in Tralee, Co. Kerry as a mature student. Realising a dream, she then set up and has gradually grown Ireland Walk Hike Bike over the past 20 years. Hiking and documenting walks in the winter is followed by her passion of showing people the “real” Ireland in the summer as she guides and hikes all along the west coast of Ireland with various groups. Linda says “I have a good overall knowledge of Ireland’s history, culture, geography, and people, and I just love showing everyone the Ireland that I grew up into and now feel privileged to know so well. By taking people into the hills I feel it really gives a tremendous experience and feel for what Ireland is about”. While safety and a comfortable pace are Linda’s priority anything can happen during her walks and it has been known to happen that she has been left behind by her group while chatting to a farmer or getting engrossed in an explanation to one person! You have been warned… Ireland IS an experience with Linda as your guide!

Failte (Welcome) to the Magnificent Dingle Way in Ireland
Exercise can be fun. Walking the complete Dingle Way long-distance walking trail (179 km) doesn't have to be an arduous slog.
Do as we did. Don't walk every kilometer. Commune with sheep, sing, and learn to enjoy squishing through soggy meadows, up and over stiles.
Hope you enjoy our 10 days of walking condensed into 10 minutes of video as much as we did!

The Kerry Camino follows in the footsteps of Saint Brendan the Navigator from the town of Tralee to Dingle, in beautiful County Kerry, in Ireland.
The trail takes walkers across some of the most stunning beaches of the Wild Atlantic Way: Inch Strand.
The finishing point of the Kerry Camino is Saint James Church in Dingle. The town was one of the traditional departing ports for Irish pilgrims heading to the Camino de Santiago, on their way to Santiago de Compostela.

Ireland Bike Tour 2014
An amazing two-weeks bike trip in Ireland from Cork to Galway!
We left Cork and reached the Atlantic Ocean at Eagle Point, then we rode the narrow roads of the Beara Peninsula with the gorgeous Healy Pass.
After that we entered the Kerry Peninsula, a stunning place with Cookamista Pass and the not so known Ring of Skeelig, but the best day was absolutely the one with the climbs of Ballaghbeama, Lough Brin and Gap of Dunloe!
From Killarney we went west towards Dingle and then climbing the Connor Pass we reached Tralee where we took a bus for Ennis in county Clare and we reached the small town of Corrofin in the middle of The Burren.
Next stop was Doolin, the Cliffs of Moher and the Aran Islands, terrific places before finishing the trip in Galway!
It was an amazing trip, the first one with Maddalena, it's only the first of a long list because she liked it a lot! #mygirlfriendrocks!

Visit and Help Celebrate Tralee's 800 Years in Ireland
Come and be part of Tralee's year-long celebration of Tralee’s 800th anniversary! The lively town in southwest Ireland was founded in the early 13th century at the crossroads of ancient trade routes.
Tralee town park has a famous rose garden (think Rose of Tralee) and much was going on when we visited...
Tralee is also the official starting point on the Dingle Way. A long distance walking, hiking, biking trail from town to town on the Dingle Peninsula.
