Irish Guardsman Statue in Windsor UK
I've wanted to make a video of this statue for ages so here it is listed in my Monuments and Statues playlist.
The 6ft bronze figure can be found in Windsor at the junction of Park Street and Sheet Street and has been cast in bronze salvaged from the Iraq war. The statue depicts an Irish Guardsman and rests on a and plinth surrounded by cobbles from Afghanistan.

Statue tribute unveiling by the Irish Guards 24.06.11
The Irish Guards will unveil a statue in the centre of Windsor as a tribute to all the soldiers who have served in their ranks since their formation on the 1st April 1900. The sculpture of a modern day Irish Guardsman is cast in bronze. The Regiment brought it back from Iraq in 2003 and artist Mark Jackson designed it.
Irish Guards receive medals from Royal couple 27.06.11
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge paid their first official visit to the Irish Guards since Prince William was appointment as Colonel Of the Regiment. 400 Irish Guardsmen marched proudly onto the parade square at Victoria Barracks in Windsor to receive medals they earned on Op Herrick 13. The Royal couple also presented an Elizabeth Cross to each family of a soldier who was killed during the operation in Afghanistan. The Battalion lost 3 Guardsmen and 3 attached personnel during their tour and 9 soldiers sustained life-changing injuries. Its been a busy year for the Micks who now have a summer of public duties ahead.

Changing of the Guard Ceremony London in 4K - Royal Buckingham Palace
#ChangingofGuardCeremony, #BuckinghamPalaceLondon, #LondonAttractions, #UnitedKingdom: The video captures extremely popular & traditional Changing of the Guards ceremony at Buckingham Palace. St James Park and Green Park in the vicinity of palace is very beautiful and worth the time as well.
Changing of the Guard at Buckingham Palace is the ceremony where the Old Guard hands over responsibility for protecting Buckingham Palace and St. James's Palace to the New Guard.
The ceremony begins on the forecourt of Buckingham Palace at 11:30 sharp, following a march by a detachment of the Old Guard, with musical support, from St. James's Palace and the New Guard led by a Regimental Band from Wellington Barracks.
The Queen's Guard is normally provided by one of the five regiments of Foot Guards from the Household Division, instantly recognisable in their bearskin caps and scarlet tunics.
Musical support is provided by a Regimental Band or Corps of Drums with pipers occasionally taking part in the ceremony.
The Guardsmen taking part in the ceremony are highly trained infantry soldiers, who in addition to their combat role undertake ceremonial duties.
Buckingham Palace is the London residence and administrative headquarters of the reigning monarch of the United Kingdom. Located in the City of Westminster, the palace is often at the centre of state occasions and royal hospitality. It has been a focal point for the British people at times of national rejoicing and mourning.

Behind the bearskins with the Irish Guards
Behind the bearskins: The Irish Guards, famous for their ceremonial duties, talk about their public order skills training, as part of the wide range of tasks they are performing at this busy time. They will be involved in Olympic security and operational deployment, together with potential disaster relief and counter-riot work. There are many parallels between the public order training we're doing at the moment and the skills that you learn while on parade.

Don't Mess With The Queens Guard
A sentry will be on duty at their post for a two hour period. Every 10 minutes, he comes to attention, slopes arms and does a march of 15 paces across the area of the post. Each sentry will do this four to five times before halting. He will then shoulder arms and stand at ease. Standing easy is not permitted whilst a sentry is at post. Orders for sentry duty read out before each 2 hour 'tour of duty', make it clear to each individual that: you may not eat, sleep, smoke, stand easy, sit or lie down during your tour of duty.[17]
Sentries receive instruction on how to eliminate nuisance or any suggestion of threat from members of the public. There is a protocol they follow which begins with stamping (coming to attention sharply). He will also shout: Stand back from the guard or words to that effect. If this does not eliminate the nuisance or threat he will repeat the stamp and shout again. If the nuisance or threat still does not cease the sentry will assume the position of port arms whereby he points his rifle at the source of the interference with his duties. If these warnings are not heeded the sentry then has the choice of detaining the person(s) himself or pressing the button in his sentry box to summon assistance.[17]
If a person or persons step in front of a sentry while he is marching he will shout: Make way for the Queen's guard. (Or Castle guard/Tower of London guard/Windsor Castle guard etc.).
While The Foot Guards are also fully operational soldiers, part of their duties is guarding The Queen and her residences. The duty of mounting 'Queen's Guard' as it is known within the Army is one which many also take on with great pride. The guards remain a fully functional part of royal defences though through the years they have become a tourist attraction.
Although formerly the guards were able to be positioned among the public, in recent times, more and more of the sentry posts have been moved away from the public because of incidents involving tourists interfering with the guards' job. Most recently, the sentry posts at Clarence House were moved behind a chain linked fence when a guardsman in the Coldstream Guards assaulted a tourist who was mocking him, pretending to march alongside him and eventually grabbing the shoulder on which his rifle was resting. In London, the only open sentry posts remaining not usually behind any sort fence are those at the Pall Mall entrance to St James's Palace.

“The Queen’s Guard” comprise of various soldiers tasked with guarding the residences of the Queen and, by extension, the Queen herself. Consisting of soldiers (mostly) hand picked from five elite regiments within the British military, the Queen’s Guard are internationally renowned for their stoic dedication to duty. However, contrary to popular belief, these soldiers are permitted to move (and do so regularly, even when just on guard duty and not on parade) and in certain circumstances do react to hecklers or the like.
