Exploring Avalon Region, Newfoundland
Hey guys! Happy Canada Day btw. What a great way to celebrate showing one of the best places ever in Canada, the Avalon Peninsula and Region.
We adventured onto the Avalon Peninsula going South towards Cape St. Mary's and also going way up North to Grates Cove. Both amazing places. Saw so many seabirds (and smelled many poops!), cliffs, and icebergs. Also encountered many pot holes which ARE THE WORST THINGS EVER WHEN GOING TO CAPE ST. MARYS FYI PLEASE BE PREPARED TO GO OH MY GOD WHILE DRIVING HERE.

뉴펀들랜드 섬이 너무 넓어서 세인트존스가 있는 아발론 반도만을 돌아보기로 했다. 아발론 지역엔 아일랜드 사람들이 많아, 아이리쉬 루프로 불리는 순환로가 있다. 이 길을 따라서 남쪽 해안에 있는 케이프 세인트메리스로 향한다. 이곳에는 날씨가 나쁘면 10분만 기다리라는 말이 있다. 그만큼 날씨변화가 많은 곳이다. 금세 안개가 자욱해진다. 안개 속이라 전체를 볼 수는 없지만 소리만으로 그 수를 짐작할 수 있을 것 같다. 놀랍게도 이곳에만 7만 마리의 황금머리 부비새들이 서식한다고 한다. 많은 새 중에 맘에 드는 짝을 찾았나보다. 사랑의 찬가가 제법 진지하고 우아하게 펼쳐지고 있다. 어디서나 사랑은 위대하다. 발아래 파도는 선명하지 않아서 더 멋있어 보인다. 맑은 날이었다면 얼마나 좋았을까. 아쉬움이 점점 커져간다. 날갯짓 없이 나는 부비새의 비행이 신비롭게 보이는 것은 짙은 안개 속에서 들리는 고동소리 때문인가 싶다. 짙은 안개는 어느새 는개로 변해가고 있었다.

Newfoundland: The Closest point to Ireland in North America
Carina is standing at Cape Spear in Newfoundland, Canada - the most easterly point of the landmass of North America. The nearest point also to Ireland - the corresponding nearest point in Ireland would be Dunmore Head on the Dingle Peninsula in County Kerry.
