I crossed the Pacific Ocean on sailing boats as crew and visited The Unites States, Mexico, Costa Rica, Panama, The Marquesas Islands, Tahiti, The Kingdom Of Niue, Rarotonga, Tonga, Fiji, some other small islands and ended up in New Zealand. In New Zealand I cycled 3.000km from the northernmost point to the southernmost point. After that I rode a motorbike from Vietnam to Laos and Cambodia. Recently I converted a Rusian 4x4 UAZ Buhanka oldtimer into a campervan and am driving around Central Asia with my puppy dog.

Compared to Tehran, our last stop, Isfahan is more traditional and conservative. This is why you can visit quite a few monumental sights here. We took 2 days to try the local cuisine and explore the best things to do in Isfahan such as roaming the world's second largest square, smoke shisha or visit the big mosques.
Due to it's centralized structure and the numerous parks Isfahan is a great city to explore for tourists - all major attractions can be found in and around the huge Naqsh-e Jahan Square.
We reached out to the local Couchsurfing community to get in touch with locales who could give us tips beyond the typical tourist sites - it didn't take long until Shayan reached out and offered us to show us his Esfahan. This way we got to see places and eat at restaurants we normally wouldn't have found ourselves. In this video We give a few recommendations of places to visit in Isfahan and typical persian dishes you should try when visiting.
This part of the trip was executed within 3 days - following I list all the places I visited & Things to do in Isfahan:
- Naqsh-e Jahan Square
- Masjed-e Shah / Shah Mosque
- Sheikh Lotfollah Mosque
- Ali Qapu Palace
- The Imperial Bazaar of Isfahan
- Abbasi Hotel
- Samboose & Faloodeh
- Promenade & Parks
- Shahrzad Restaurant
- Saba Hotel
- Chehel Sotoun Palace
- Esfahan Old Town & Streets
- Si-o-seh Pol
This video is part of „Inside Iran“ - a documentary series introducing you to popular and unknown sights / things to do in Iran as well as the Persian cuisine and the super friendly locals we met on our trip from Tehran to Isfahan, Shiraz and Yazd. With this series I want to create a better understanding of the country and it’s people without focussing on politics or religion.

ISFAHAN - Iran Travel Guide | Around The World
Isfahan (or Es·fa·han (ĕs'fə-hän', Persian: اصفهان) is a city in central Iran, south of Tehran and is the capital of Esfahan Province. The Persians call it Nesf-e-Jahan, meaning Half The World. Due to its beautiful hand-painted tiling and magnificent public square, it is considered to be one of the most beautiful cities in the world. An ancient town and capital of Persia from 1598 to 1722, it was long noted for its fine carpets and silver filigree. Today, textile and steel mills take their place. Its architecture, tree-lined boulevards and relaxed pace make it one of the highlights of Iran.
The city is 430km south of Tehran at the foothills of the Zagros mountain range. The city enjoys a temperate climate and regular seasons. Isfahan is located on the main north-south and east-west routes crossing Iran. It is similar to Denver in the United States in terms of altitude and precipitation. It is the twin city of Freiburg and Freiburg street in Isfahan is famous.
Squares and streets :
Naqsh-e Jahan Square also known as shah square or imam square-1602. The square contains two mosques, a palace, and the bazaar. The square is the largest historical public square in the world after Tiananmen Square in Beijing and it is one of UNESCO's World Heritage Sites. The square is surrounded by buildings from the Safavid era. This a very popular place for locals to picnic on Friday and holiday evenings.
Meydan Kohne (Kohne Square)
Shahshahan Square
Chaharbagh Boulevard - 1596, dating from the Saffavid era, the avenue is the most historically famous in all of Persia.
Chaharbagh-e-khajou Boulevard
Mosques :
The stunning mosques of Isfahan are among the most beautiful and interesting in the world.
Imam Mosque (fka Shah Mosque before Iran's Revolution), In Naghsh-i Jahan Square. Built during the Safavid period, it is an excellent example of Islamic architecture of Iran, and regarded as one of the masterpieces of Persian Architecture. It is registered as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Its splendor is mainly due to the beauty of its seven-colour mosaic tiles and calligraphic inscriptions. edit
Sheikh Lotf Allah Mosque- one of the architectural masterpieces of Safavid Iranian architecture, this mosque is considered to be the most beautiful in Iran. Built in 1602 by Shah Abbas I.= and designed by his chief architect, Sheikh Bahai. The mosque was designed to be a private mosque for the royal family and therefore it does not have any minarets. There is a tunnel from the mosque to the Royal Palace, across the square.
Hakim Mosque - one of the oldest mosques in Isfahan. Built by Shah Abbas II between 1656 and 1662. Located on the site of a 10th century mosque. The portal was covered in mud until it was discovered in 1956.
Masjed-e Jāmé of Isfahan, Started in AD842, this is the first Islamic building to adapt the four-courtyard layout of Sassanid palaces
Pol-e Khaju (Khaju Bridge) - 1650. It is the finest bridge in the province of Esfahan. It was built by the Persian Safavid king, Shah Abbas II around 1650 C.E. This structure originally was ornated with artistic tile works and paintings serving as a teahouse
Atashgah - a Zoroastrian fire temple. This small reconstructed temple and ruins are dramatically set atop a rock on the outskirts of Isfahan and provide a commanding view of the smog-covered city. You can take one of the blue buses there (ask the drivers). Alternatively you can cycle the 15 km from the city along the river bank. Entry: IRR 150,000 for foreigners. Free for Iranians.
Average Salary in Isfahan is a bit lower than Tehran(Iran Capital) but the same is true for cost of living. Isfahan has a lot of steel and construction related industries as well as Power Generation plants. There are a lot of technology towns like Sheikh bahaee, Jay, Amir Kabir , Oshtorjaan and many others which all are active in the industry. Qualified people can work in these towns or directly in the industries.
Esfahan carpets are world-famous, being the very finest of the Persian carpets. They are also often extremely expensive. Carpets from the nearby town of Na'in are similar in style, also well-known, and are expensive too. For those who are interested, it is possible to buy the highly decorative and brightly coloured traditional dress of Esfahan, but such clothing can be expensive, so it's better to haggle for a reasonable price.
Iran - Esfahan
Esfahan is located on the main north–south and east–west routes crossing Iran, and was once one of the largest cities in the world. We visit the main sights and see daily life.
We visited Iran on our overland trip from the Netherlands to South Africa and South America; see our channel for hundreds of clips.

Ekspedicija Damavand Iran - turizam - Isfahan i povratak, 25.04.19.
Nema neke prevelike žurbe, kada god stanete i nešto razgledate, prilaze vam ljudi i mladi i stari i na dobrom engleskom nude pomoć.
Zaista divan grad.
Obilazimo Seyed džamiju, Imam Ali trg, Sabornu džamiju (Jameh džamija), najpoznatiji trg Nakš-e Džahan, prekrasni most Khaju, te armensku crkvu i kompleks posvećen genocidu nad Armencima 1915 godine.

A lot of people are gathered next to signboards called Isfahan traditional restaurants. It is a place selling Isfahan traditional food. Isfahan only. I can not make such delicious food unless it is here. This is a small restaurant divided into two floors with a kitchen and a hall. In the kitchen located on the first floor, the only menu of this restaurant is being cooked. I made it with lamb. I tenderize the meat to soften the texture. After that, put cinnamon, etc., and season it. This is called the lungs of the sheep. This dish, called 'ver yun', is made from chopped lamb and bread. It is famous for its traditional food, which can only be eaten in Isfahan. Fry the lamb's meat in oil, mince it with the lamb's onion, and boil it once more. It is a historic dish that has been eaten since the time of the Kajar dynasty. I live in Tehran. I came to Isfahan for the first time and I have to say that people should try it when they come here. Berun is a popular dish for Iranian people rather than foreign tourists. It 's easy to eat a lamb that' s in between breads baked like a hamburger patty. Put the proper amount of meat on bread and eat it like wrap. I thought I would feel a lot. If you do not come to Isfahan and eat this food, it is like you did not come to Isfahan. Just because we ate the same food makes us friends.
