Ishigaki (石垣) is a Japanese tropical paradise that's part of the Yaeyama islands of Okinawa (沖縄).
Crystal clear waters, white sand beaches, abundant wildlife, delicious food and friendly locals!
PART 1- Hotel Miyahira & Kabira Bay
I stayed at Hotel Miyahira (南の美ら花ホテルミヤヒラ).
A family-friendly, clean and comfortable hotel in a convenient location across the road from Ishigaki Ferry port.
My stay included buffet breakfast with lots of Japanese and Western style breakfast dishes.
Kabira Bay (川平湾) is one of the most famous sightseeing spots in Ishigaki. Incredibly beautiful turquoise sea with lots of sea-life spotting.
It's near the famous 'Manta Scramble' where scuba divers can spot Manta Rays from April to December!
There are plenty of buses and taxis available on the island but I recommend renting a car or an electric scooter if you can.
Taxis are also cheaper in Ishigaki than in Tokyo.
