Separados por la Laguna de San Cristóbal hay dos destinos que únicamente comparten apellido, luego de que el virrey Antonio de Mendoza desembarcara con su armada un 25 de diciembre de 1540. Se trata de Isla Navidad y Barra de Navidad. Tanto la isla como la barra tienen un sabor propio y completamente distinto entre sí, pero que se deben mezclar para degustar por completo la Navidad del Pacífico. Aguas en la barra se agitan y juegan con las decenas de niños y sombrillas que se postran en la arena. Dos opciones en el menú: una laguna serena o un mar bravío, el condimento extra, desde aquí sí se puede mirar y gozar del ocaso. En Barra de Navidad insisten en pasear en lancha para conocer la isla, tanto del lado mar como de la laguna.
