Indonesia!! We arrive at the Denpasar airport to Balinese music (chimes, bells and twangs), the thickest humidity we have ever experienced and many many smiles. We are greeted as if our arrival was expected, long over due, and we are all long lost friends. We are staying at the Sayang Hotel, which is in Legian, Bali (very nice part of Bali away from the busy Kuta region - if you look at the Bali Map, its the little narrow piece of land on the south of the island. Its a lovely hotel - Very clean, beautiful pool, free pool table, A/C in the room and hot water and a lanai too!!! All for $10/person. :D. The grounds are so beautiful too. We even get a free breakfast and the bar is open 24 hrs. We have made many friends here already - almost immediately. Its a cool group of backpackers: from England, Scotland, Germany, Italy, Canada and Jakarta. Its so funny because everyone thinks we are SO exotic for coming from Hawaii. HAHAHAHA!! Its so funny. Everyone is just so curious about all things Hawaiian. We love Bali So so much and have said this already at least 5 times in the first day. WE LOVE BALI!!!!!!

INDONESIA Travelogs: Uluwatu Temple in South Bali & Tegenungan Waterfall in Ubud, Bali
One of the best temple I ever visited is the Uluwatu Balinese Temple in Bali, Indonesia because of its amazing view, a temple on top of a steep cliff about 70 meters above sea level.
While the Tegenungan Waterfall is near Ubud, Bali and it is also amazing because of the cascading water from a height of maybe a mid-rise building in Makati. I guess it was my first time to see that kind of waterfall.
Is it a must see place when your are in Bali? YES!

Kuta Beach is on the western side of the island's narrow isthmus. It's considered Bali's most famous beach resort destination. Kuta Beach is also minutes away from the Ngurah Rai International Airport in Tuban. The nearby resorts of Tuban, Legian and Seminyak are all within close walking distance. Once a simple, rustic and quiet fishing village, Kuta Beach has witnessed a transformation over the past years. This is due to the rise of various accommodation options, dining and shopping scenes. The rapid growth owes much to visitors, beachcombers and art lovers from nearby Australia. Expatriates also helped pioneer surfing in Kuta, as well. A rather frenzied traffic scene has become commonplace here. Even so, Kuta Beach continues to attract thousands of visitors every year with its unique charm. Kuta Beach is regularly fully-booked over the peak seasons. This is usually from July to August and the holiday season for Christmas and New Year. BALI - Paradise trashed?
THANKS FOR SUBSCRIBING TO BILLSCHANNEL - If you spent 27 hours and lots of money getting to Paradise, you expect some serious paradise, right? Not in Jimbaran Bay or Kuta Beach on the Island of Bali, Indonesia when I was there. The water and beaches were filled with more trash than I have ever seen on a beach. Indonesia's Culture and Tourism Minister Jero Wacik has blamed the terrible condition of many of Bali's famed beaches, including Kuta, on the wind. The second-term minister, who has in the past faced criticism from the tourism industry about his ineffectiveness, said strong winds blew the garbage, dirt and other detritus onto the beach from the ocean.
Jero, himself from Bali, also defended the resort island against a scathing article in Time magazine, which was titled Holidays in Hell: Bali's Ongoing Woes. In the article, writer Andrew Marshall didn't hold back.Rivers swell and flush their trash and frothing human waste into the sea off Kuta Beach, the island's most famous tourist attraction, where bacteria bloom and the water turns muddy with dead plankton.
He said skin infections caused by spending just 30 minutes in the ocean was just one of Bali's problems: water shortages, rolling blackouts, uncollected trash, overflowing sewage-treatment plants and traffic so bad that parts of the island resemble Indonesia's gridlocked capital Jakarta.

Our group from Singles in Paradise enjoyed an incredible dive off the island of Nusa Penida in Bali. This site is called Manta Point and these giant mantas were flying by us! It was quite a sight. If you're a diver in Bali you've got to get over to this site!
