The remoteness of the outer islands has left them largely immune to the encroachments of man and their unbelievable beauty and uniqueness has earned them World Biosphere Reserve Status from the United Nations. Savour the rugged beauty of the granite-sculpted outer islands on our original three-hour wilderness cruise where there is truly an adventure around every bend.
Fall among the Thirty Thousand Islands region is spectacular. The warm and bright days of Indian Summers produce brilliant reds, oranges and yellows on the maples and birches that spread like a firestorm through the tall green pines and lush cedars on the islands. Our Fall Colour Cruises begin in the middle of September and last through the Thanksgiving weekend each year, leaving the town dock in Parry Sound at 1pm.

Island Queen Cruise travels the 30 000 islands on the Georgian Bay near Parry Sound. The boat is normally very full, this was a Tuesday, 10am, 2 hour cruise on an over cast day, so there were not as many passengers as normal. In my opinion this is the BEST time to cruise, it is like a charter boating adventure.

Dean Curtis here with Serenity Vacation Rentals and today we are talking about the Island Queen cruise out of Parry Sound.
Ok so I have to be up front here in saying that I wasn’t expecting much when it comes to a sight seeing cruise of some islands. What I was most excited for was that it would force me to get away from the work I was doing at the cottage and I might be able to relax for a couple of hours out on the water. I gotta say….it was way better than I expected!!
They offer a two hour morning cruise or a three hour afternoon cruise. I had teenagers in tow so I thought it best not to push my luck on a three hour tour and chose to do the two hour morning cruise. Once we were underway I was regretting the fact that I didn’t choose the three hour tour! We toured through the many islands – I should say that the tour is also known as the 30,000 island tour…. I really enjoyed looking at the cottages on the water, seeing all of the islands, and hearing facts about the area from the loudspeaker as we passed points of interest. It was a smooth relaxing tour with an on board cafeteria and washrooms.
Would I do it again? Absolutely!! Next time I will do the three hour tour and I think I will give it a try in the Fall season to see some of the changing leaves! Next time you are at one of the Serenity Vacation Rentals cottages – be sure to check out the Island Queen cruise!!

At the end of summer, we embarked on a four-day weekend road trip from Toronto to Sault Ste. Marie to Lake Superior Provincial Park. On the third day, we started making our way back south. With the Huron shores on our right, we drove down the highway towards the town of Parry Sound, located on the shores of Georgian Bay.

Following the Island Queen around the 30,000 Islands of Georgian Bay
Following the Island Queen in a Candu Jr. mini tugboat on her 3 hour cruise through the 30,000 Islands of Georgian Bay. The cruise ship departs from Parry Sound and the final waypoint is The Hole on the Wall located between Huckleberry Island and Wall Island.

The Island Queen is about to make her way back to the Docks in the Town of parry sound and it's there where our journey has sadly come to an end!!!
A cruise around McLaren Island Parry Sound Georgian Bay
I got a wanna be go pro and decided to take it around the island. started in five mile bay, through indian docks and back up the south channel. Apparently it only records 15 min at a time so there is a final 3 min on another file of me completing the circle.
This camera was a Swann Action cam recording @ 720p @ 60fps. quality was not what i hoped, but kind of what I expected. The real downer was the condensation that formed on the inside of the water proof case and fogged the video after some time.
Was doing between 30-55 most of the time, and opened her up to about 65 here and there.
