St James Parish Church - Bridgetown Barbados | By Aloha Robert
St James is what you would imagine a traditional Bajan church to be. The outside architecture is beautiful. Inside, the walls are made of light-colored local stone. The wood is dark and rich. It's such a peaceful place and makes a neat stop on a hectic holiday. You can relax here and sit, walk around or take photos. The original church bell dates from 1696 and is on display. It can be touched. The stained glass and the memorial tablets on the inside walls all are worth some time. This was our second visit and we will be back.

About me:
I'm a filmmaker; I like traveling to many places in California looking for the most unique and impressive places to shoot videos. In fact, California is such an amazing state with so many places to visit like art museums and landmarks! But many people don't have the opportunity to visit California because it's very expensive to travel to the Golden State. Instead of traveling, I will take you on a tour to those places and my travel videos will show you a lot of scenic sights and monuments absolutely free on my Youtube Channel.

BARBADOS - called little ISLAND IN THE SUN.
This video clip shows a beautiful Bajan sunrise and the Bridgetown, Barbados HARBOR as seen from the decks of Celebrity's cruise ship SUMMIT on Monday morning, December 26th 2011... before heading out to the Passenger Cruise Terminal !
Note that HAL's Prinsendam cruise ship was docked in the same Harbour as our own Celebrity's Summit - Boxing Day 2011.
In January 1994, the newly refurbished and exclusive Passenger Terminal was officially opened. There are 20 large Duty-Free shops with an additional 12 Small Carts and a Chattel House Village for small vendors. Customs, Immigration, Health, Security and the Tourism Authority offices are located in the Terminal as well as an efficient and modern telephone system which can link passengers to anywhere in the world.
BRIDGETOWN is the capital and commercial centre; it was originally named Indian Bridge for the rude bridge which had been constructed over the river (now known as the Careenage) by the Indians. It was later called the town of St. Michael in official documents, before finally being named Bridgetown.
