The most beautiful bridge of the world in truth seems an afloat artificial island that founds in GRAZ - Austria and colleagues the two banks of the Mur river (47°4'23.04N - 15°26'4.74E). This strange bridge (the Murinsel or also Acconci-Insel) is an artificial base like a shell formed in its central part by 2 semisferes with glass walls, a concave one that entertains an open theater and the other convex that contains a cafè and a small park for children.
It's one of the creatures of the newyorker architect and Italian origins Vito Acconci, it has a length of 50 meters and it's wide 20 meters with the possibility to entertain up to 350 visitors.

The idea of integrating the river Mur into the life of the city came up right at the beginning of the planning phase for the Cultural Capital, as the river not only divides the city, but also connects it. The artist undertakes a quest for a new, exceptional building site.
Based on the idea of Graz-born Robert Punkenhofer (Art & Idea) the artist implanted an artificial joint linking nature and city, which forces visitors to adopt new perspectives and guides them along grounds which have hitherto been inaccessible. In other words - Vito Acconci, the artist and designer from New York who dedicated himself increasingly to architecture in the past few years, placed an island in the Mur.

Like a giant turtle shell or inverted in the midst of the river Mur in Graz is a unique bridge-island that so called - Murinsel, Mur Island.
The Murinsel — German, literally Mur island, in Graz, Austria, is actually not an island at all, but an artificial floating platform in the middle of the Mur river. This landmark of Graz was designed by New York artist Vito Acconci on the occasion of Graz becoming the 2003 European Capital of Culture.
The building is in the form of a giant sea shell and measures 47 m (154 ft) in length, about 350 people here who can spend time with children, spectate neighborhood, with this structure, they look totally different angle. Two footbridges connect it with both banks of the Mur. The center of the platform forms an amphitheatre. Below a twisted round dome there is a café and a playground.
Island platform anchors secured to the bottom of the river resembles a sink with two uniform zones: open and closed. In one part of the shell-bridge, under glass, there is a cafe-bar in the other, under a clear sky - amphitheater. Between children's playground and a maze of ropes.
With two different coasts of the platform are metal ladders in the overall picture obtained bridge island. In the evening the lights gives an unusual sight, bridge island is revealed on the other hand, wrapped in a mysterious mystery. Bridge Murinzel became the new pride of the city. It was built temporarily for a period of celebration, but the locals have left him forever, as another cultural heritage of a new era.

It was designed by the American architect Vito Acconci and contains a café, an open-air theatre and a playground.

The old town was added to the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1999 due to the harmonious co-existence of typical buildings from different epochs and in different architectural styles. Situated in a cultural borderland between Central Europe, Italy and the Balkan States, Graz absorbed various influences from the neighbouring regions and thus received its exceptional townscape. Today the old town consists of over 1000 buildings, their age ranging from Gothic to Contemporary.

me and Katja were in Graz, Austria to return a rental car that we used to get from Munich, Germany to Celje, Slovenia;
we had about three hours of spare time after returning the car, so we just started walking; we came across this unusual bridge that crosses the Mur River;
