Venezia - Murano è un centro abitato della Laguna Veneta, situato a nord-est di Venezia e composto da sette isole , con circa 4.500 abitanti, Murano risulta essere uno dei centri più popolosi della Laguna Veneta.
Le isole su cui sorge Murano sono poste lungo il canale dei Marani e sono divise da canali e rii e collegate tra loro da ponti; il loro territorio è totalmente urbanizzato, escludendo Sacca San Mattia, tuttora in fase di bonifica. Due isole sono di origine artificiale: Sacca Serenella e Sacca San Mattia.
Il centro è noto in tutto il mondo per la plurisecolare attività artigianale che produce il vetro di Murano.

Venezia - Burano è un centro abitato di 2.426 abitanti che sorge su quattro isole della laguna di Venezia settentrionale. Fa parte del comune di Venezia e in particolare della municipalità di Venezia-Murano-Burano. È collegato da un ponte all'isola di Mazzorbo, che ne è divenuta una sorta di appendice. La cittadina è nota per le sue tipiche case vivacemente colorate e per la secolare lavorazione artigianale ad ago del merletto di Burano. Notevoli sono le tradizioni gastronomiche; tipici dolci sono i bussolai.

MURANO and BURANO, one of the most beautiful places to visit in Venice! Check this islands if you're around Venice, Italy.
Check out my previous Vlog where I explore Venice for the first time:
On my previouse Vlog I was with my colleague Amber exploring the city center of Venice and we were amazed on how beautiful it was.
We saw the most famous places of the city like Rialto Bridge, St. Mark's Square, Bridge of Sights.
We also walked around the city center through those narrow streets and small bridges, I have to advise you to really use Google Maps in order not to get lost, it is so easy to get lost here in Venice, Italy.
This time I was with my girlfriend Ines and we went to explore the islands of Murano and Burano. They are beautiful and very colorful, they used to be fisherman islands and now are very touristic places.
When we got to Murano we were supposed to go to the glass factory but it was closed alredy that is why I'm not showing it on the video, sorry for that. Next time I go there I'll go there earlier so I can show you them making glass.

Murano - Burano - Torcello
Nella laguna attorno al centro storico si trovano numerose isole edificate (alcune oggi disabitate). Tra le isole maggiori (che fanno parte anch'esse del comune) si ricordano Murano, Burano celebri rispettivamente per la lavorazione del vetro e dei merletti.Torcello, fu uno dei più antichi e prosperi insediamenti della laguna, fino al declino conseguente alla predominanza della vicina Venezia e al mutare delle condizioni ambientali. Attualmente l'isola conta appena diciotto residenti, ma l'inestimabile patrimonio archeologico che ancora conserva ne fa un luogo turistico molto frequentato PM&G Productions

Museo del Vetro di Murano
Il Museo del Vetro di Murano venne fondato nel 1861, quando, superato il periodo più oscuro che la storia del vetro muranese ricordi,dopo la caduta della Repubblica di San Marco (1797) e i lunghi anni di dominazioni straniere, Antonio Colleoni (1811-1855), allora sindaco dell'isola, e l'abate Vincenzo Zanetti (1824-1883), cultore di arte vetraria, riuscirono a far approvare in seno alla deputazione comunale il progetto di istituire un archivio nel quale potessero essere raccolte tutte le testimonianze reperibili ai fini di illustrare la storia e la vita dell'isola. Ben presto sull'archivio ebbe il sopravvento la parte museale, in virtù delle numerose donazioni di vetri prodotti nell'isola nei secoli trascorsi, e di vetri contemporanei, da parte dei titolari delle fornaci che, nella seconda metà dell'Ottocento, ricominciarono a lavore con intenso impegno. Vincenzo Zanetti, nel 1862, istituì anche una scuola, annessa al Museo, che nei giorni festivi i vetrai frequentavano studiandovi, oltre che disegno,anche i modelli dei vetri soffiati nel passato e ivi conservati. Dopo l'annessione di Murano al Comune di Venezia, nel 1923, il Museo Vetrario passò a far parte dei Musei Civici Veneziani; le sue collezioni furono, infatti,soggette a un riordinamento, curato nel 1932 sulla base di più moderni criteri espositivi da Giulio Lorenzetti e da Nino Barbantini e furono accresciute dall'aggiunta dei vetri delle collezioni Correr, Cicogna e Molin, che annoverano, tra l'altro, i più bei pezzi rinascimentali del Museo. In seguito i depositi della Soprintendenza archeologica permisero di istituire la sezione archeologica, della quale gli elementi di maggior prestigio sono i vetri provenienti dalla necropoli di Enona (Zara). Anche oggi le collezioni del Museo, oltre che per mezzo di acquisti,vengono incrementate da donazioni da parte delle fornaci dell'isola, che vanno ad arricchire soprattutto la raccolta contemporanea.
The Murano Glass Museum was founded in 1861 when the darkest period in the history of Murano glassmaking had been overcome, following the fall of the Republic of San Marco ( 1797) and the subsequent years of foreign rule. Antonio Colleoni (1811-1855) who was then mayor of the island and Abbot Vincenzo Zanetti (1824-1883) -- an enthusiast regarding the art of glassmaking -- were able to get the town Council to approve the idea of setting up archives consisting of any available information in order to map out the history and life of the island. The museum expanded faster than the archives due to the fact that a large number of glass pieces made on the island over the centuries as well as contemporary objects were donated by the ownwers of the glass factories which had started working again in the second half of the 19th century with renewed vigour. In 1862 Vincenzo Zanetti also started up a school which was annexed to the museum and attended by the glassworkers on their days off. They studied design as well as past examples of blown glass conserved there. Following the fusion of Murano with Venice Municipality in 1923, the Glass Museum became part of the Venetian Civic Museums. In 1932 its collections were put in order under the guidance of Giulio Lorenzetti and Nino Barbantini who adopted more modern criteria regarding dispaly techniques. The museum's collection was further expanded by the addition of the Correr, Cicogna and Molin Collections which include, among other things, the most beautiful Renaissance pieces in the museum. The Archeological Heritage Department was responsible for setting up the archeological section whose most outstanding exhibits come from the necropolises of Enona (Zara). Except for occasional purchases, even today additions are nade to the museum's collection thanks to donations made by the island's glassworks which enrich, above all, the contemporary collection.

Murano has incredible art masters of Venetian Glass. it is easy trip by boat from Venice. You can visit glass factories and take a walk around Murano island with beautiful buildings painted with bright colors. There are a few restaurants and cafes here. Nice way to spend an afternoon during your Venice Italy trip.

Murano l'Isola del Vetro
( Riprese effettuate con Videocamera Samsung HMX-H100P/EDS )L'isola di Murano è famosa per la lavorazione del vetro, da quando verso la fine del XIII secolo venne imposto il trasferimento da Venezia di tutte le fornaci, come misura di sicurezza contro il pericolo di incendi. La particolare tecnica di soffiatura del vetro si può ancora vedere in alcune delle numerose vetrerie dell'isola.

Murano was initially settled by the Romans and from the sixth century by people from Altinum and Oderzo. At first, the island prospered as a fishing port and through its production of salt. It was also a centre for trade through the port it controlled on Sant'Erasmo. From the eleventh century, it began to decline as islanders moved to Dorsoduro. It had a Grand Council, like that of Venice, but from the thirteenth century, Murano was ultimately governed by a podestà from Venice. Unlike the other islands in the Lagoon, Murano minted its own coins.

Burano, Murano, Torcello 3 Island Tour
We made a full day of exploring the 3 islands in the Venetian lagoon near Venice.
First, we bought an un limited water bus day pass for 20 euro per person. This allowed us to use the water buses free all day long as many times as we wanted. Otherwise yo have to pay 7.5 euro per one way, per person.
Of the 3 islands, Murano is the busiest, Murano second and Torcello is the quietest and smallest.
The water bus (boats) run fairly often and get crowded so make sure to appropriately time your journey if you are short on time or take your time and simply explore.
Don't confuse the water bus with the water taxi. Water taxi are in fact, a taxi service and cost a lot more.
Most people go straight to Murano as it is a shorter ride and spend about an hour enjoying the glass shops that are famous for their Murano glass.
Next, it's easy to visit Burano as it is s short journey by water bus and that is where you find all the colorful houses. I suggest to simply get lost and enjoy the colorful houses.
Lastly, Torcello, the smallest island is just a short boat ride away and is the quietest and smallest of the three. You need only 1 hour or less to explore.
You can take the water bus directly back to several major stops in Venice including San Marco Square and Piazzale Roma.
You'll catch the airport transfer from Piazzale Roma.
You can also store luggage at the central train station in Venice island.

Cosa vedere a Venezia? La lista è davvero infinita, perché questa citta fatta di isolette e canali, amata in tutto il mondo, sembra custodire in ogni angolo un gioiello da scoprire.
Durante il primo giorno, attraverso il sito di Musement, abbiamo prenotato un'escursione in vaporetto che ci ha portato sulle tre più celebri isole della laguna di Venezia ovvero Murano, Burano e Torcello.
Come sia stata l'escursione è facile capirlo dalle immagini del video: F A N T A S T I C A.
La giornata si è conclusa ammirando Venezia di sera, quando la maggior parte dei turisti se ne va (dove???) e la città aumenta incredibilmente il suo fascino. La vista del Ponte di Rialto al tramonto e Piazza San Marco di notte sono immagini che non si dimenticano facilmente.
Secondo giorno: walking tour, prenotato sempre con Musement, attraverso le vie, canali e mercati di Venezia per scoprire il suo patrimonio enogastronomico. Ovvero come svegliarsi la mattina e lanciarsi in un fantastico Bacaro Tour tra cicchetti e spritz come se piovesse! :D E naturalmente non poteva mancare il momento gondola!
La nostra due giorni a Venezia si è conclusa in uno dei nostri quartieri preferiti della città, il ghetto ebraico.
