Issaqueena Falls | Walhalla, South Carolina
I visited Issaqueena Falls which are just north of the town of Walhalla, SC. My awful cell phone camera certainly does not do these falls justice. Absolutely beautiful.

Issaqueena Falls, SC -- DJI Drone Footage
Really cool waterfall located just outside Walhalla, South Carolina inside of Oconee State Park. If you're in the Clemson area, this is a really cool quick waterfall visit along with a historical incomplete Pre-Civil War Railway Tunnel that was carved into about 270 ft into granite rock to be a section of the Blue Ridge Railroad. When the war broke out, it was never complete afterwards.

Issaqueena falls, hike, South Carolina
A short easy walking trail leads from Stumphouse Mountain Park to Issaqueena Falls, a beautiful 200-ft. cascade. Legend has it that the Indian maiden, Issaqueena, rode to the nearby fort to warn of a pending Indian attack and then escaped pursuing Indians by pretending to leap over the falls, but actually hiding beneath them. This easy hike will take you to the top of the falls, but a short path to the right will give you a grand view of the entire scene.
Height: 100 feet
Length of hike: 0.2 mile
Time to hike: 15 minutes
Difficulty: Very easy
Creek or river: Cane Creek
USGS Quadrangle: Walhalla
Directions to the falls:
1. From Walhalla drive west on SC 28 for 6.9 miles and turn right into Stumphouse Tunnel Park.
2. Pass through the gate and follow the road to the parking lot and picnic area on the right.
3. Park and walk across the footbridge on the west side of the parking lot.
4. From here a path curving to the right side of the falls is apparent. This trail gives a fine view of the falls and its boulder-strewn creek course through the deeply incised valley below.

Cruising Walhalla South Carolina
My hometown has re implemented cruising downtown. My friends and I thought it would be fun to hitch up one of the horses and go cruising in the fringe top Surrey. We made a few passes through downtown, had a lot of fun.
If you see me please wave and say hello, but don't run me over or blow the horn. Thanks LOL
Issaqueena Falls HQ
There was no hiking to this place. It is truly a roadside attraction. I just paid to park--and it was well worth it. It's situated not too far from Oconee State Park. There is a viewing platform but to appreciate the falls you really need to walk all the way to the bottom(a sometimes precarious descent) to face it head on. It's absolutely gorgeous. I made this video last October and am just now publishing it.

History, Legends, and Haunted Train Tunnel!? - Stumphouse Tunnel, Walhalla, SC - (My Experience)
Stumphouse Tunnel is rich with history. Legends of Irish workers shot dead by Confederate Soldiers and a story of a Native American Princess who jumped off a waterfall to escape her tribe, are just some of the examples of how rich the lore is here.
- This was my first time visiting Stumphouse Tunnel and I look forward to going again. There is much more research I need to do on the history of this place and the complicated issues surrounding the people who once lived there, but this video is about my first experience and what I know so far.

Issaqueena Falls and Stump House Tunnel, SC
Issaqueena Falls is named after an old legend where an Indian maiden whose name was Issaqueena, warned settlers at a nearby fort about a potential Indian attack. Once the Indians learned of her betrayal, they pursued her to the falls where she pretended to jump over, but hid on the cascades and escaped.
Located near Walhalla, South Carolina, is a 100 ft (30 m) high cascade waterfall in the Oconee District of the Sumter National Forest.
The Stumphouse tunnel is operated as a public park along with nearby Isaqueena Falls by the city of Walhalla. It is open daily except Christmas Day and during inclement weather from 10am until 5pm. Inside the tunnel, the temperature is a constant 50 degrees with humidity of 85%. The tunnel is easily accessible by foot, a few yards from a gravel parking lot. The tunnel is 17 feet wide, 25 feet high, and nice and cool
The structural integrity of the tunnel is solid and almost no cracking is apparent minus an enlarged vent halfway through the tunnel

A wonderful legend to be sure.I did not see a trail leading down to the bottom of the falls so we took a makeshift trail down. Very steep and kinda dangerous but worth the effort. Be careful if you use the trail we did.
