Pizza Pi VI - The Biggest Pizza Party in the Virgin Islands
If you like pizza, and who doesn't, then you need to find a way to get yourself to the biggest pizza party in the virgin islands...Pizza Pi VI.
Pizza Pi VI is a floating pizzeria located in Christmas Cove on Great St. James Island, which is just off the south eastern end of St. Thomas.
The boat has been completely transformed into a custom pizza kitchen where boaters can tie up, dinghy up, or even swim up to grab a pizza, some drinks or even some Pizza Pi VI branded swag.
To order, you can call them at 340-643-4674 or hit them up on channel 16 on your boat radio as you come into Christmas Cove.
So not only is the idea of a floating pizza boat pure genius, but the pizzas are dynamite to go along with it! Check out their menu here -
Christmas Cove is a great place to anchor for the night if you are doing a week long charter through the Virgin Islands, and for day charters, it's easy to pull up, grab your pizza, and head off to your next island stop.
The next time you are in the VI, we highly recommend making a stop at Pizza Pi VI, the biggest pizza party in the Virgin Islands!

A Salty Passion: Hi! We are Ryan (RumShopRyan) and Crystal (Castaway Crystal), we document, photograph, and film the best the Caribbean has to offer. Whether it’s stunning beaches, relaxing hotels, friendly restaurants, or soggy beach bars…we want to share it and inspire others to explore the islands.
MEET US!
Who Is RumShopRyan:
Howdy! I’m Ryan and I hail from the land-locked, can’t get any further from the ocean, state of Kansas. I moved to laid back southwest Florida in 2001. I didn’t know a single person and didn’t have a job. Risky I know, but the ocean was calling and I had to answer.
I’m a huge fan of Kansas City sports, so you’ll probably see a lot of Jayhawks, Chiefs and Royals attire in my photos. Kansas City is a great town and I’m glad I’m from there, but the coastal life was calling. It’s kind of like Kenny Chesney’s “island boy” song. Check out the lyrics and you’ll see what I mean.
I write because I’m passionate about the Caribbean and the island lifestyle, and it’s my way to share it with you. If it has anything to do with the Caribbean, rum drinks, beach style music, or Caribbean culture, you’ll be able to find it on this site.
When in the Caribbean you’ll find a camera around my neck and note pad in my pocket. This is how I document the experiences in unique and interesting ways and bring it back to you, the Castaways.
Who is Castaway Crystal:
I was raised in Southwest Florida so it’s no surprise that I have a love for beaches, water and nature. As a child, most weekends were spent fishing in the warm gulf waters on the family boat. As an adult, most weekends are spent soaking up the sun on Ft. Myers Beach. Even though I have always loved the coastal life, I don’t think I fully appreciated it until I moved to Nashville, TN. I’m all about experiencing new things, and as a Licensed Massage Therapist I thought it would be amazing to massage some of Nashville’s biggest stars (a girl can dream right?). But I missed the sun and sand too much—and let’s not forget the rum runners! After a year I couldn’t take it anymore, this sun bunny moved back to her coast of somewhere beautiful.
I’ve always been passionate about photography and writing but my passions never really had a purpose until I met Ryan. I couldn’t be happier being Ryan’s first mate and sharing my photos and stories with you. May they inspire you to go after your tropical dreams and wishes. Make a plan…Set a date…Just go!
Snorkeling with a Nurse Shark in the Virgin Islands
We encourage all of our charter guests to take a snorkel in our beautiful Caribbean water with our complimentary snorkel gear. It's a great activity on your day trip in the Virgin Islands. This lucky snorkel group saw a small nurse shark on their swim. It's rare to see these shy sharks.

AMAZING MEXICO, COZUMEL, MEXICO TRAVEL, ISLA MUJERES, INCREDIBLY CLEAR WATER, MEXICAN BEACHES
AMAZING MEXICO, COZUMEL, MEXICO TRAVEL, ISLA MUJERES, COZUMEL MEXICO, Cozumel (Mayan: Island of the Swallows) is an island in the Caribbean Sea off the eastern coast of Mexico's Yucatán Peninsula, opposite Playa del Carmen. It is one of the eight municipalities (municipios) of the state of Quintana Roo. Cozumel is a popular tourist destination renowned for its scuba diving. The main town on the island is San Miguel de Cozumel.
The island is about 48 km (30 miles) north-south and 16 km (10 miles) east-west, and is the largest Atlantic island of Mexico. It is about 20 km (12 miles) from the mainland, and some 60 km (36 miles) south of Cancún. The vast majority of the population of Cozumel lives in the town of San Miguel (pop. 71,401 in 2005), which is on the western shore. The rest of the island is low, flat, and densely vegetated. Cozumel has tropical savanna climate under the Köppen climate classification that closely borders on a tropical monsoon climate.[11] The dry season is short, from February to April, but even in these months precipitation is observed, averaging about 45 millimetres (1.8 in) of rain per month. The wet season is lengthy, covering most of the months, with September and October being the wettest months, when precipitation averages over 240 millimetres (9.4 in). Thunderstorms can occasionally occur during the wet season.[12] Temperatures tend to remain stable with little variation from month to month though the temperatures are cooler from December to February with the coolest month averaging 22.9 °C (73.2 °F). Owing to its proximity to the sea, the island is fairly humid, with an average humidity of 83%.[12] The wettest recorded month was October 1980 with 792 millimetres (31.2 in) of precipitation and the wettest recorded day was June 19, 1975, with 281 millimetres (11.1 in).[12] Extremes range from 9.2 °C (48.6 °F) on January 18, 1977 to 39.2 °C (102.6 °F). Tourism, diving and charter fishing comprise the majority of the island’s economy. There are more than 300 restaurants on the island and many hotels, some of which run dive operations, have swimming pools, private docks, and multiple dining facilities.
Other water activities include para-sailing, kitesurfing, and a tourist submarine. There are also two dolphinariums. At the cruise ship docks there are several square blocks of stores selling Cuban cigars, jewellery, T-shirts, tequila, and a large variety of inexpensive souvenirs.
San Miguel is home to many restaurants with a huge variety of different cuisines, along with several discothèques, bars, cinemas, and outdoor stages. The main plaza is surrounded by shops; in the middle of the plaza is a fixed stage where Cozumeleños and tourists celebrate every Sunday evening with music and dancing.
All food and manufactured supplies are shipped to the island. Water is provided by three different desalination facilities located on the island. Scuba diving is still one of Cozumel's primary attractions, mainly due to the coral reef on the western shore of Cozumel. These coral reefs are protected from the open ocean by the island's natural geography. In 1996, the government of Mexico also established the Cozumel Reefs National Marine Park, forbidding anyone from touching or removing any marine life within the park boundaries.[18] Despite the importance of healthy reefs to Cozumel's tourist trade, a deepwater pier was built in the 1990s for cruise ships to dock, causing damage to the reefs, and it is now a regular stop on cruises in the Caribbean. Over the past few decades, coral reef health has significantly declined in Cozumel, with much lower coral cover now present than was historically recorded.[19][20]
Cozumel seen through the eye of Hurricane Wilma
The island was struck directly by two Category 4 hurricanes during the 2005 Atlantic hurricane season. In July, Hurricane Emily passed just south of Cozumel, exposing the island to the storm's intense inner core. Despite Emily being a powerful storm, it was the larger, stronger, slower-moving Hurricane Wilma that caused the most destruction when it hit the island in October.[21] Wilma's eye passed directly over Cozumel.
There was some damage to the underwater marine habitat. This included the coral reefs, which suffered particularly at the shallower dive sites, and the fish that inhabit the reefs.
The island is about 48 km (30 mi) long The majority of the island's population lives in the town of San Miguel (pop. 77,236 in 2010),[5] which is on the island's western shore. The municipality, which includes two small areas on the m Cozumel is a flat island based on limestone, resulting in a karst topography. The highest natural point on the island is less than 15 m (49 ft) above sea level. The cenotes are deep water filled sinkholes formed by water percolating through the soft limestone soil for thousands of years. Cozumel's cenotes are restricted to qualified cave divers with appropriate credentials.

It also has 2 notable beaches: tranquil White Bay and Great Harbour, which hosts a lively New Years Eve celebration. The boat ride to Buck Island and snorkeling in St. Croix, USVI. Beautiful place and it is definitely worth the visit. Most of the coral is dead but it was still excellent snorkeling. We used Captain Heinz on the Teroro II for our charter. Shot with a GoPro Hero4 Black. - May 2017

You will board an authentic Cayuco, (motorized canoe). Your guide Navigates shaded deep mangrove tunnels barely wide enough for the canoe, and teeming with wildlife on its voyage.
The Yacht Week BVI
The BVI's are a hidden treasure in the Caribbean. Here you can find the perfect mix of Caribbean style bars, including the legendary Willy T's (which is by far the coolest bar you will go to), amazing beaches and great company. The Yacht Week events in the BVI's consist of around 20 yachts.
PETER ISLAND
Sail to the southwest of Virgin Gorda to visit the Baths - the unusual rock formations that have created a famous snorkeling area and beach. This stop is a must, especially if you make it all the way into Devil’s Bay. In the afternoon the group set sail towards Peter Island which is a charming place. Take the time to enjoy a walk around the island or perhaps indulge yourself in the luxury spa! In the evening the tables are set for dinner and drinks comprising of the best of the Caribbean surrounded by palm trees listening to the waves breaking over the beach.
JOST VAN DYKE
Enjoy a day of beautiful sailing towards Jost van Dyke and White Bay. This is the home of three excellent bars:
Grab a beer in the bar and sit down right on the beach.
In the afternoon everyone moves to Great Harbour, home to Foxy’s Bar, and moor for the night. Foxy’s offer live Caribbean music and wild parties. For New Year’s festivities people travel from all over the world to celebrate “Old Year’s Night” - as the local people call it. This night is amazing and ranked among the top party destinations in the world. Imagine celebrating New Year’s in your flip flops under starry skies with live reggae music all night long.
MARINA CAY
In the morning we head on to Sandy Spit on the east end of Jost van Dyke for a swim. During the day we will sail along the north side of Tortola towards Marina Cay which is a tiny little island with a nice restaurant and bar. Pusser’s Restaurant and shop offers great rum! The coral behind the island has terrific snorkeling. Marina Cay has a spectacular view from the hilltop where we will organise dinner and drinks. If the weather allows we will do a traditional raft with all the boats for the night.
ANEGADA
After a few hours of sailing north Anegada will appear as a mirage on the ocean. At it’s highest point this island measures 8.5m above sea level and is the second largest island in the whole of the BVI. The New York Times recently announced Anegada as one of the top beaches in the whole Caribbean – that’s where we are heading! The yachts will be moored at buoys on the south side of the island, which is the only way to enter given the massive coral reef surrounding the whole island. At Cow Wreck Beach we will organise the best sunset beach party of your life! A lobster BBQ combined with live Caribbean music just by the most amazing beach ever. Watch the waves break at the coral reef while sipping on a Carib beer with your feet in the water.
VIRGIN GORDA
Sail south to the north part of Virgin Gorda. On the way there you might want to stop outside Necker Island - Sir Richard Branson’s private island. Around the corner in North Sound we will stay at anchor outside Bitter End Yacht Club. This is an exclusive resort where a room is around $1000 per night at this time of the year. We will organise a dinner at the resort followed by late night drinks and music in the Bitter End Bar. The North Sound is an ideal place to relax, snorkel, hike ashore and enjoy other water sports.
NORMAN ISLAND
In the morning we will sail away along Sir Francis Drake Channel and head for Norman Island or “Treasure Island” as it was an old hangout for pirates. “The Caves” offer spectacular snorkeling, with stunning coral and fish. After dinner and rum drinks at Pirate’s Bight restaurant on the beach, we will spend the rest of the night at the Willie T’s – a 30m schooner that is now a legendary bar and hosts amazing parties all night!
The above information provided from theyachtweek.com and the video represents my own personal take on the yacht week and not that of the yacht week company.

JOURNAL ENTRY 5/11/17 THE BAHAMAS
After spending an incredible night anchored on a sea of glass it was time for us to continue our journey towards West End where we will spend the remainder of our time here in The Bahamas. We got a slip at Old Bahama Bay and were relieved to have a gentle breeze blowing while in the marina to help cool us down.
While at the fuel dock we experienced some frustration when the ignition switch wouldn't start the engine. If you have been following our story you will remember that this isn't the first time we have had to deal with this problem. Luckily it wasn't too difficult for us to bypass and we were able to move out of the way of other cruisers wanting to use the fuel dock. Here is a link to the video where we fixed the switch the first time: ~
Something we had both looking forward to experiencing while on our adventure was to ride bikes around the islands. With this being our last destination in The Bahamas, we were sure we wouldn't ever get the chance, but when asking the lobbyist for walking directions to the local grocery store we were told we could ride the marina's bikes there for free! We were so excited!
We knew that Hurricane Matthew had hit West End about 7 months earlier and had heard stories of how devastating the destruction had been for many people within its path, but now seeing some of the damage in person was amazing for us. We can't imagine how it must have felt to be in such a storm. It was sad to see torn up homes trying not to fall apart, and skeletons of building fighting to stand up. If there's one thing we have learned while visiting The Bahama's is that the people here are Stronger than the Storm! They have come a long way to rebuild their homes and have done a fine job at getting back up on their feet!

Spearfishing the Cook Islands in the Winter of 2015. Took a different path with this video and its a bit slower paced than previous videos, more observing and less shooting. I hope you find something you enjoy in the video all the same. All the fish that were harvested in the video were consumed. The roi and moses perch were utilized for berley due to ciguatera risk.
