Trip To Itami Insect Museum 伊丹市昆虫館
Last weekend we wend for a trip to Itami City Insect Museum (伊丹市昆虫館) and the surrounding Koyaike Park (昆陽池公園).
The museum was amazing - especially the butterfly pavilion - hundreds of butterflies of different sizes and colors flying around you. Both Alex and Maya were enchanted by the view.

温室の蝶々と花々が綺麗でしたああああ♪（動画ないけど・・・笑）
伊丹市昆虫館 『いたる所に蝶だらけ』 Itami City Museum of Insects
初めて「伊丹市昆虫館」に行ってきました。
温室では、想像以上に蝶の数が多く、日常では見れないような珍しい蝶が沢山飛んでいました。
人にあまり警戒しないので、かなり近くで観察することができます。

Life in Japan Koyaike Park 昆陽池公園 Itami city 伊丹市
Koyaike Park 昆陽池公園 surrounds the Itami city insects museum (伊丹市昆虫館). It is very nice with two big lakes within. In the center of the bigger one there an archipelago of tiny island exact copy of Japan. A big cormorant colony has took over them!
In the smaller lake there are hundreds of turtles and fishes fighting for the food people throw them. All around the park there are many small artificial rivers and swamps in which kids are trying to ctch shrimps and other water creatures. We saw even a water snake - for a very first time - as Maya said. :)
But you must be also careful in the park. The crows have learned to steal unattended bags with food. They even removed first the heavy tea bottles before grabbing and flying away with the bags with snacks! Follow us on twitter:

About Itami City
Itami City is located in the south-east of Hyogo Prefecture, Japan.
The city is around 10 km from Osaka and is home to Osaka (Itami) International Airport. Itami's neighboring cities are Amagasaki, Nishinomiya, Takarazuka, and Kawanishi (Hyogo Prefecture), and Toyonaka and Ikeda (Osaka Prefecture).
Itami City is known as the birthplace of sake: around the year 1600, the technique for making clear or refined sake was first discovered in Itami's breweries, giving us the drink we know today.
Today, the city is home to the oldest sake brewery building in Japan - the Former Okada Residence and Sake Brewery, a nationally designated Important Cultural Property.
Itami is also famous as a sacred site for naginata training. As well as being home to the All Japan Naginata Federation headquarters, one of Japan's three biggest private dojos, Shubukan, is also located in the city. Shubukan Dojo still carries out naginata training today.

Last weekend we had a real spring weather, it was the perfect time to enjoy plum blossom with friend. We walked through Okamoto parks (岡本梅林), then found a lovely plum orchard higher in the mountains. Sun, vivid colors of plum flowers and mesmerizing fragrance were just wonderful, truly relaxing and energizing Sunday :)
