3 day Champagne Castle hike in the Drakensberg

45km over 3 days in a beautifully wet and green landscape. Startign with a serious 2 hour climb followed by 7km over contouring and then a slug into camp for our first night, this always seems hard but the second day we were relived of our large bags and were able to trek freely. This time the rain was crazy and the streams were rushing. The rocks were very slippery and steep and the higher we got, the more dangerous it became. Our Guide had to make a call to turn around before one of us went bum sliding to the bottom, and 2800 i would rather be safe then sorry.
