First Plum Blossom Festival of the Year! | Kanmuriyama Park Japan
Today Jesh and I went to a Plum Blossom Festival and it was so beautiful! They weren't in full bloom yet, but they were still so pretty and smelled amazing! On the way there I saw a monkey and I will never stop talking about it! It was so crazy haha. While at the festival we were able to stop at an all vegan restaurant! Japan Trip 2017 -Day 5 - Fushimi Inari, All the Sushi, Tenryu-ji
We make our climb to the top of Fushimi Inari early in the morning to avoid other visitors. The heat and humidity is a big factor this trip so careful planning is required. After a short nap and a big meal, we are ready to head out to Tenryu-ji to see one of the oldest zen gardens in Japan.

City Description:
Osaka is a large port city and commercial center on the Japanese island of Honshu. It's known for its modern architecture, nightlife and hearty street food. The 16th-century shogunate Osaka Castle, which has undergone several restorations, is its main historical landmark. It's surrounded by a moat and park with plum, peach and cherry-blossom trees. Sumiyoshi-taisha is among Japan’s oldest Shinto shrines.Neon-lit Dōtonbori is Osaka’s popular dining and entertainment district, where huge signs in the shape of sea creatures hang above eateries serving local specialties like takoyaki (octopus dumplings) and okonomiyaki (savory pancakes). Nearby Shinsaibashi is a covered shopping arcade with trendy fashion boutiques. Other big draws include Universal Studios Japan, the movie-themed amusement park, as well as the Osaka Aquarium Kaiyukan, which re-creates Pacific Ocean habitats. The top of the Umeda Sky Building, which has glass elevators and an open-air observatory, has views over the whole city.
Weather and Events:
Osaka's peak travel periods are Mar, May (especially Golden Week, which begins in late Apr), Aug, and Nov–Dec. The subtropical climate causes mild winters, humid summers and a May–Jul rainy season. Widely attended events include various cherry-blossom festivals (Apr) and the popular, longstanding Tenjin Festival (Jul), known for its music and puppetry performances, portable shrine parade, evening procession of boats and closing hand-clapping ceremony.
