At the 2006 census, its population was 7,366, in 1,803 families.
It is the first town in Fars Province on the Isfahan-Shiraz Highway.
The Complex of Izadkhast is located in the Fars Province of Iran, roughly 135 km south of Isfahan. The complex consists of Izadkhast Castle, a caravanserai كاروانسرا, and a Safavid-period bridge. The castle structure is of particular interest due to the different architectural styles incorporated into the construction of the building, including Sassanid ساسانيان and Qajar قاجار periods. Indeed, the architecture of the castle is unique to Izadkhast, and only comparisons in building materials can be made to other sites in the region.
This site was added to the UNESCO World Heritage Tentative List on August 9, 2007 in the Cultural category.

Pentagon says Iran bombed IS targets in Iraq
Iranian aircraft have carried out air strikes against Islamic State (ISIS) militants in eastern Iraq, the Pentagon has said.
Officials said the US had indications that Iranian F-4 Phantoms had launched several raids in recent days on Islamic State targets in Diyala Province which borders Iran.
An Al-Jazeera cameraman recorded footage of a jet flying over the region that was later identified as an Iranian F-4.
The US has a policy against cooperating with Iran but Secretary of State John Kerry said at a meeting of coalition allies that if Iran is attacking the militant group then “the net effect is positive.”
Iran has reportedly provide Iraq with aircraft, and strategic advice in its fight against ISIS.
Iranian officials have refused to confirm the reports.

Deciding to create this event to make him an emperor, Bokassa invited 2500 international dignitaries and spent over 25 million dollars in that time to put on the event. That equates to around one quarter of the government’s annual budget. 5 million dollars of lavish jewelry dressed the “emperor” including a pearl and crystal encrusted cape, diamond, emerald and ruby crown among other accessories. The hideous gold eagle throne perched on a blue orb was meant to symbolize marking his place on the map but instead the widespread news media this event drew resulted in countries around the world laughing at him.
