Izawanomiya Otauesai (Rice Planting Festival) Mie, Shima, Isobe 伊雑宮 御田植 祭 三重 志摩 磯部 by Kari Gröhn karigrohncom
This rice planting festival is hold at the Izawanomiya Shrine which is one of the 123 shinto shrines that makes up the giant Ise Grand Shrine complex in Mie Prefecture. The Izawanomiya Otauesai is a national intangible cultural asset and one of three major “Otaue” festivals in Japan. The locals use the nickname “Omita” for the festival.
Before the planting, loin-clothed fishermen perform the Taketori Shinji ritual in the mud scrambling for the charm of good catch attached to a high bamboo pole. A man who successfully gets the amulet decorates it on his boat. It’s believed that the successful pole grabbers will be provided with safety while at sea. The mythology of the festival involves an ancient visit by seven sharks which swam up the Nogawa River to visit the shrine. The sharks are purported to visit even now, so that local fishermen suspend their fishing that the sharks aren’t accidentally caught.
The girls aged 12-15 (saotome) plant sacred rice seedlings handed by young men (tachido). On the back boys aged 5-6 dressed as women play drums and sing traditional rice planting songs. Legend says that two thousand years ago Emperor Suinin ordered his daughter, Princess Yamatohime to find the most suitable permanent location to hold ceremonies for Sun Goddess Amaterasu. After twenty years of searching the princess arrived at Ise and decided to establish a magnificent sanctuary. Ever since, the Japanese and the Emperor have worshipped Amaterasu in Ise.

伊勢神宮と鳥羽の旅。
今回の旅は日帰りでなく一泊です。
伊勢から鳥羽に移動して、安楽島地区の彩花亭に泊まりました。
山の上から見る景色は絶景。
部屋からの眺めが最高でした。

時間が無くて慌てて回ったので瀧祭神と参集殿を飛ばしてしまいました。
伊雑宮 御田植祭／日本三大御田植祭（重要無形民俗文化財）竹取り神事 其の１
白真名鶴（しろまなづる）の伝説がその起源と伝えられる伊雑宮御田植祭（いざわのみやおたうえまつり）は、千葉の香取神社、大阪の住吉大社とともに日本三大御田植祭の１つに数えられ、磯部に初夏の到来を告げる。
勇壮な男達が大きな団扇のついた忌竹（いみだけ）を奪い合う竹取神事、古式ゆかしい装束に身を包んだ太鼓打ちや簓摺（ささらすり）らによる田楽が響きわたる中、白い着物に赤いたすきがけをした早乙女たちによって厳（おごそ）かに行われる御田植神事、その後、一の鳥居に向けて行われる踊込みと、祭りはいくつもの情景を私たちに見せてくれる。
この神事が現在の形になったのは平安時代末期か鎌倉時代初めと伝えられており、太古より脈々と受け継がれてきた伝統と歴史の積み重ねに生まれた、荘厳（そうごん）な時代絵巻が繰り広げられる。

帰り道に突如立ち寄った伊勢神宮。外宮、内宮と別宮の月讀宮など見学。その後伊勢志摩方面へ・・・。山陰山陽旅最終パートです。
On the way to home, we decided to drop by the Grand Shrines of Ise.
We visit both of Nai-ku and Ge-ku (inner and the extra shrine of Ise) and the Tsukiyomi no miya which shrine is dedicated to the Kami-sama of Moon.
