Kanazawa’s Teramachi: Two Distinctive Temple Districts in One | Nippon.com: Japan in Video
The Teramachi area of Kanazawa, Ishikawa Prefecture, is one of the city’s three major clusters of temples dating back to the Edo period (1600–1868), when Kanazawa was the seat of the powerful Maeda clan, rulers of the Kaga domain. In 2012 Teramachi—literally “temple town”—was designated as an “important preservation district for groups of traditional buildings.” The designated district actually consists of two areas. The first is Noda Teramachi. This is one of the three districts into which Maeda Toshitsune (1594–1658), third lord of the domain, had all the city’s temples concentrated for administrative purposes. It lies along the old Noda Kaidō (Noda Highway), and to this day the thoroughfare passes by a series of Edo-period temples with impressive gates and walls. The second area is Izumi Teramachi, which developed as a temple district more gradually than Noda Teramachi and has a different aspect, featuring a mixture of temples and townhouses (“machiya”).
A townhouse built in 1892, formerly consisting of family quarters above a street-level shop, has been converted into a guest house accommodating just one party a night. Here visitors can experience the atmosphere of a traditional Japanese residence. Another townhouse, which was built 150 years ago, has been converted into a gallery. As these examples show, contemporary owners are finding new ways of using the area’s buildings while preserving the streetscape.

The spirit and principles of Japanese football preserved here in tangible and intangible forms will be passed on to future generations by the Japan Football Museum.

駐車場：あり 車で頂上の駐車場に行く間の道が狭く結構冷や汗でした。
祭神は大己貴命と国常立命と少彦名命。大同元（806）年に天台僧の宝珠上人が，社殿を造り祭壇を設けて，近江国比叡山の日吉神社の分霊を勧請・祭祀したのが始まりとされています。
茨城県の天然記念物にも指定されている名木の数々を見ることができます。72年ごとに行われる大祭礼や6年毎に行われる小祭礼，それらの際に奉納される田楽舞（ともに茨城県指定文化財）でも名を馳せています。

The Kansai region or the Kinki region lies in the southern-central region of Japan's main island Honshū. The region includes the prefectures of Mie, Nara, Wakayama, Kyoto, Osaka, Hyōgo, and Shiga. Depending on who makes the distinction, Fukui, Tokushima and even Tottori Prefecture are also included. While the use of the terms Kansai and Kinki have changed over history, in most modern contexts the use of the two terms is interchangeable. The urban region of Osaka, Kobe and Kyoto is the second most populated in Japan after the Greater Tokyo Area.

TRAVEL VLOG - Us three in Ishigaki
This is my first travel vlog recording my summer trip to Ishigaki with my good friends, Priscilla and Yannie.
Ishigaki is a beautiful place but recently its coastal environment has become increasingly polluted by tourism and the rise of sea temperature. Almost 80% of the corals we saw were dead. It’s very sad and I wouldn’t recommend going on the coral reef tour as you’re bounded to step on the coral reefs when you make your way out to the sea.
Nevertheless, hope you enjoy watching the vlog as much as I do!

2015年5月2日(土)、【熊野古道･紀伊路3日目 仁徳天皇陵古墳→泉井上神社】(大阪府堺市･高石市･和泉市)を歩きました。
〈3日目コースデータ〉
スタート：仁徳天皇陵古墳 11時33分
ゴール ：泉井上神社 17時19分
所要時間：5時間46分
歩行距離：約12.9km(寄り道部分含まず)
コース：堺市役所21階展望ロビー→堺東駅前＝堺市博物館前バス停→スタート･仁徳天皇陵古墳→南宗寺→石津神社→大鳥大社→大鳥居新王子→聖神社→篠田王子→八阪神社→平松王子→ゴール･泉井上神社→和泉府中駅前＝泉大津駅前
3日目3本目は、聖神社からゴールの泉井上神社までの映像です。
和泉市の熊野古道の一部は、以前JR西日本の企画で歩いたことがありました。
｢小栗街道｣の石標もありましたが、地の底から蘇生した小栗判官が土車に乗せられ熊野詣の人々に引かれ湯の峯温泉で蘇生するという説話から、この辺りの熊野古道は｢小栗街道｣とも言われています。
また、古道筋には、小栗判官と照手姫伝説になぞらえた場所もありました。照手姫は、現在の相模原市で生まれた伝説のお姫様です。
ゴール後は、JR和泉府中駅から南海バスで南海･泉大津駅へ。そして、和歌山市駅近くのホテルに宿泊しました。
映像の最後には、和歌山城ライトアップと和歌山ラーメンの井出商店の映像が付いています。
