Izumidani rice terrace Uchiko - Ehime - 泉谷棚田 - 4K Ultra HD
Located in the heart of Uchiko in Ehime, Izumiya/Izumidani is one of those very few places where you can still enjoy the wonder of Japanese old rice terraces. Lost in the mountains, with roads barely larger than your average compact Japanese car, Izumiya is well known all over Japan for its stunning views. While you can enjoy the rice terraces of Izumiya all year long, it is best to visit the area at the end of May and early June to get a chance to enjoy the area when farmers start planting rice, and if you are able to spend the whole day there, just make sure to have your camera fully charged to take some amazing pictures and videos of the area during the sunset.

Situé en plein coeur d’Uchiko à Ehime, Izumiya/Izumidani est un de ces rares endroits où nous pouvons encore admirer des rizières en terrasse. Perdue dans les montagnes et accessible par des routes à peine plus larges que les plus compactes des voitures japonaises, Izumiya est réputée à travers tout le japon pour ses vues spectaculaires. Bien qu’il soit possible de contempler les terrasses toute l’année, le meilleure moment de vous y rendre sera de fin Mai à début Juin afin d’avoir une chance de voir les fermiers planter le riz. Si vous vous y arretez toute une journée, prenez soin d’économiser la batterie de votre appareil photo jusqu’au magnifique coucher de soleil !

Uchiko town, located in Ehime prefecture, Shikoku, flourished as a producer of Japan wax and washi paper about 150 years ago. Since then, the town has preserved its beautiful streets lined with old traditional houses.
If you have a plan for visiting Matsuyama or Dogo Onsen, I recommend also visiting Uchiko on your way. It takes about 25 minutes by express train from JR Matsuyama Station.

Tenshaen Garden in Uwajima, Ehime is a gem unknown to even the well traveled and offers a tranquil Japanese experience.
The garden was constructed in 1866, as a retreat for the Daimyo, Date Munetada. One of its greatest sights is its great wisteria bridge (白玉藤) which explodes in white flowers during the wisteria season (normally mid-April). In May there are also around 2000 iris flowers that come into bloom. There are also 19 varieties of bamboo around the pond to add to its beauty.
The garden costs ¥300 to enter, and is open daily except when closed for the end/start of the year as well as on Mondays from the 2nd Monday of December to the last Monday in February.
Open 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM (April - June until 5:00 PM).

棚田（たなだ）とは、傾斜地にある稲作地のこと。 傾斜がきつく耕作単位が狭い状態において、水平に保たれた田が規則的に集積し、それらが一望の下にある場合は千枚田（せんまいだ）とも呼ばれる。 英語では、 rice terraces と表現される。 また、棚田と同様に傾斜地を段状にした畑は、段々畑（だんだんばたけ）という。

AOMORI Tsuru no Maihashi in Tsruta 鶴の舞橋 鶴田町
Tsuru no Maihashi Bridge in Tsuruta town in May 2016.
It's the longest wooden arched bridge in Japan.
It's very beautiful and stretches over the Tsugarufujimi-ko Lake where you can have a great view of Mt.Iwaki called Tsugaru Fuji.
鶴田町にある「鶴の舞橋」へ行ってきました。
木造のアーチ橋としては日本一の長さです。
津軽富士見湖、岩木山がとても美しく見えますよ。
