Welcome to Izumisano!
#03 Nostalgic Labyrinth City in IZUMISANO, OSAKA, JAPAN
Old town in Izumisano city, Osaka Japan. There are very old townscapes on the north of the Izumisano station, Nankai Railway near KIX(Kansai Airport).
You can find many narrow and winding roads. So this area is called natural labyrinth city. That sounds a little bit scary?
Don't worry! City area is very safety. However, we're very sorry, but there is no guide that can guide you, because roads are too complicated. Anyway, let's enjoy an exciting walk !!! ©dsyoku

Kohei Asano
In 2007, he left his home country in order to pursue his goal in becoming a great swimming coach. He has a total of 12 years of coaching experience; 4 years in Japan and 7 years in the US. His passion for swimming and his cultural awareness makes him a unique and creative minded coach. In the few years that he has been here, he has adapted to the diverse coaching and managing styles of the American culture. His willingness to stand by the poolside 365 days shows his love and dedication to help his swimmers improve and overcome their challenges.
He has a special working visa that no one normally gets because one needs to get approval from the government. He is the only coach from abroad who is a H1-b visa holder also working at a swim club legally in USA. Kohei did not know any English when he moved to the United States. Now he can talk to everyone fluently. You will be surprised to know how much he was challenged to add English as a second language.
He appreciates all of the coaches who trust him by giving him the opportunity to coach the varsity group for the past 5 years. In addition to his responsibilities as the varsity group coach, he will continue to be the assistant to all coaches - Tony, Tisha, Carlene, Janet, Hilary and PASA pro team during the 2016 season. He will also be supporting all of Rinconada‘s programs this season.
Kohei is a fun and humorous guy with a lot of passion for swimming. He enjoys socializing with his Japanese and American friends during the weekends. He often attends BBQs and goes to the popular ramen joints in the bay area. He also enjoys watching mixed martial arts and professional wrestling and has an ever-growing collection of sneakers. He is married to his Japanese wife and they had their first baby this year. His son was born here, in the USA and his name is Kento. Kento is an American citizen!

JAPAN: TOKYO: MISOGI RITE
Japanese/Nat
Young Japanese have celebrated their coming of age in a bizarre manner.
An estimated one point 64 (M) million Japanese were 20 years old on Monday - the traditional age marking the transition from childhood to adulthood.
Some of them marked the momentous occasion by immersing themselves into freezing water.
It's a ritual known as misogi (me-so-gee), designed to cleanse the body and remove physical and spiritual defilements.
According to Japanese Civil Code, young men and women officially reach adulthood when they reach 20.
Most mark this day by attending formal ceremonies organised by local governments.
But a few hardy souls go further than this.
Some young men chose to practise an ice water ablution rite.
At a religious shrine in downtown Tokyo, they receive a blessing from a Shinto priest before leaping into an ice cold bath of water.
The rite - called misogi (me-so-gee) - is a Shinto rite of ablution.
It's a ritual cleansing of the body with water to remove one's physical and spiritual defilements.
The annual ritual draws a crowd of people eager to watch the young men immerse themselves into the cold water.
SOUNDBITE: (Japanese)
I'm cold! Fortunately, it is warmer than usual. So, once I got used to the temperature of the water, my fear disappeared and I started feeling good.

SOUNDBITE(Japanese):
To celebrate my coming-of-age day, I thought it is much better to practise this ice water ablution than to do some ordinary thing such as going somewhere in suit. I've decided to become a responsible adult.
SUPERCAPTION: Yoshiaki Ikuma, 20 year-old Japanese man
The ceremony might be cold, but these young men see it as a bit of fun - and it takes their minds off other worries.
Twenty-year-olds in Japan face a difficult time.
The recession and corporate restructuring have increased unemployment.
There's also concern about rising youth suicide rates and other signs of alienation among young people.
The coming-of-age season also focuses attention in Japan on another issue: the falling birth rate.
The rate in 1998 - one point 38 births per woman - was the lowest ever and among the lowest in the world.
Many in Japan fear that there will not be enough workers in the future to provide for the growing ranks of elderly.
It is not all dark for Japan's young people, however.
Many hope that the erosion of strict education and corporate practices will offer future generations more freedom.
And for one day at least, the 20-year-olds can enjoy being the centre of attention - even if it does involve a very chilly start.

TOKYO - Tokyo Midtown and Roppongi
Tokyo Midtown, completed in March 2007, the $3 billion project includes office, residential, commercial, hotel, and leisure space, and the new quarters of the Suntory Museum of Art.
Midtown Tower is the second tallest building in Tokyo Prefecture at 248 meters. It is the fifth-tallest in Japan, after Yokohama's Landmark Tower, Osaka's World Trade Center Building, Izumisano's Rinku Gate Tower Building, and the Tokyo Skytree.
Roppongi is famous for the affluent Roppongi Hills development area and popular night club scene. A few foreign embassies are located near Roppongi, and the night life is popular with locals and foreigners alike.
The area features numerous bars, nightclubs, strip clubs, restaurants, hostess clubs, cabarets, and other forms of entertainment. Among the expatriate community, the area tends to be favored by business people, students, and off-duty US military personnel. Overall, the neighborhood caters to a younger crowd.
