Makurazaki City is a port town at the southernmost tip of Satsuma Peninsula.The town which has boasted the most volume of Katsuo(bonito) uploading from distant seas and katsuobushi is the home of ❝Dashi(Soup stock)❞,which is used as a base in Japanese cuisine.

This is the final stop of Ibusuki-Makurazaki Line.
This line is the most southern line in Japan!
I was very lucky to come to this station today!
Because train has just arrived when I came to this station.
There is no staff at this station.
So, when you get on this train here, you have to take numbered tickets and pay when you get off the train.
Many people who like trains have come to this station.
About 30 people use this station every day.
It takes about 1 hour from Kagoshima City to this station by a car.
But, it takes more than 2 hours if you come here by train.
For your reference, the most southern station in Japan is Nishi-Oyama Station which is located in Ibusuki City.

The big Ferris is the symbol of the station!

Come to this city if you want to go back to early 20th century - pretty well preserved (even the broken windows)
Didnt come across any tourists yet.
Uniqueness: Nobody that I talked to in the city spoke English

NISHI-OYAMA STATION
This is the most southern station in Japan.
From December to February, neighboring paddy fields are filled with 30 thousands of beautiful Nanohana flowers like an yellow carpet spreading to the foot of the Mt. Kaimon.
Also, this station is one of the best places to take a nice photograph of Mt. Kaimon.
