Wildlife Art - National Museum of Wildlife Art | Jackson Hole Wyoming
The National Museum of Wildlife Art is a museum located in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, United States that preserves and exhibits wildlife art. Join us for a relaxing stroll through this beautiful museum. Our favorite work of art is Chief by Robert Bateman, what's yours?
The 51,000 square foot building with its Idaho quartzite façade was inspired by the ruins of Slains Castle in Aberdeenshire, Scotland and echoes the hillside behind the facility. Located on a bluff called East Gros Ventre Butte in the midst of a real wildlife habitat, the institution overlooks the National Elk Refuge and is situated 2.5 miles north of the town of Jackson. The core of the collections reflects traditional and contemporary realism. The museum's centerpiece is a collection of works by Carl Rungius (1869-1959) and Bob Kuhn (1920-2007). In addition to 14 galleries, the museum has a sculpture trail, museum shop, restaurant, children's discovery gallery, and library. More than 80,000 people visit every year, and over 10,000 children visit the museum each year, often as part of their school curricula. (Wikipedia)

After checking out our friends’ cabin and outrunning a hail storm that looked to possibly produce a tornado, we wrap up our time at Big Trails Ranch in Ten Sleep, WY.
We have to pack up quickly as Jess becomes very sick on our last night and needs to get to an urgent care almost 2 hours away to see a doctor. After a very long drive, we get to the clinic and Jess is diagnosed with a bad urinary track infection.
Loaded up with antibiotics, we head out to the most epic campsite overlooking the Grand Tetons. Because we want to spend as much time as possible in Alaska, we only stay for one night. We checked out the iconic barn at Mormon Row, T. A. Moulton Barn, at the base of the Tetons. Corey gets to photograph the area, something he has looked forward to for a long time.
We leave the Grand Tetons to spend a couple days in Yellowstone before we head up toward Canada. Our site in Yellowstone is tiny and probably the tightest squeeze we could ever make work in our RV.
Stay tuned for next week’s episode where we explore Yellowstone National Park! Thanks for watching! Don’t forget to like and subscribe and click on the bell icon for notifications when we release new videos!

Fort Caspar, Wyoming, United states
Fort Caspar, Wyoming, United States 2005, museum and historic site by City of Casper
Fort Caspar was a military post of the United States Army in present-day Wyoming, named after 2nd Lieutenant Caspar Collins, a U.S. Army officer who was killed in the 1865 Battle of the Platte Bridge Station against the Lakota and Cheyenne. Originally founded in 1859 along the banks of the North Platte River as a trading post and toll bridge on the Oregon Trail, the post was later taken over by the Army and named Platte Bridge Station to protect emigrants and the telegraph line against raids from Lakota and Cheyenne in the ongoing wars between those nations and the United States. The site of the fort, near the intersection of 13th Street and Wyoming Boulevard in Casper, Wyoming, is listed in the National Register of Historic Places and is now owned and operated by the City of Casper as the Fort Caspar Museum and Historic Site.

Eagle's Nest at the Jackson Hole Golf & Tennis
Eagle’s Nest – A Unique Opportunity to Create a Family Compound in a Sanctuary Setting Right Next to Jackson Hole Golf & Tennis Club
A sanctuary with sweeping Teton views from floor to ceiling windows in almost every room - this 5,756 SF home, rests on 2.6 acres and 3 lots. A stream runs through it, 3 footbridges, a gazebo and a walking path tucked behind mature landscaping.
Birds eye 360-degree views are unobstructed and enhanced by two extra parcels - the perfect opportunity to build additional retreats that are just a 4-minute walk to the amenities at the JH Golf & Tennis Club.
Upon arrival, a waterfall and stone circular driveway invite you into a warm entryway. Walk out of sliding glass doors onto a 2,982 SF deck with a hot tub.
The master suite has a private deck, his and hers bathrooms with steam shower and sauna, and one of four fireplaces in the home. The guest wing has 4 bedrooms, 2 of which are en suite.
The modern stone and wood house is named Eagle’s Nest because it is perched so gloriously and laid out with accordion-like birds wings to maximize the dramatic views.
Imagine gazing up at the moonlit Tetons from the hot tub or watching the sunset reflect off the Sleeping Indian under the Gazebo or from a lounge chair on the private deck outside the master bedroom.
An additional easement that the existing homeowner acquired creates yet another intimate outdoor space along the creek for an afternoon read, an easel for a plein air landscape painting or a space to incorporate in a site for an artist’s studio.
The stained glass window in the entryway features a scene of geese flying off into a purple and green sunset. Museum like glass shelves and long walls for showcasing art may distract the eye for a moment, but the gravity of the mountains pulls you into the main living space and brings the outside in. The 1,000 square foot great room has built in bookshelves, deep storage closets and a wet bar. The chef’s kitchen between the family room and the dining room is functional in form and detail, with Subzero appliances and a built in Thermador gas grill. In addition to the main connection with nature through the vast picture windows, natural light filters in from 13 skylights.
A well kept legacy home, the Eagle’s Nest has four wood burning fireplaces, a feature that would not be allowed under current building codes that limit homes to one wood burning fireplace. It is equipped with practicality, including a 1,292 three-car garage with extra storage space, three heating systems and dehumidifiers, a security system an intercom and a backup generator give the home an added sense of security, and a 1,000 gallon propane tank that feeds the fireplaces, gas grills, hot tub burners and the fire pit in the gazebo. But most importantly, it is one of the most picturesque places in the Jackson Hole area to view wildlife and nature.
The setting where Paul McColister, the founder of Jackson Hole Ski Corp. and Laurance Rockefeller decided to build Jackson’s first golf course, was no accident. It is a special place chosen for its views of the Teton, Snake and Gros Ventre mountain ranges.
The club makes for a great next door neighbor because of all of its open green space. Work out, go swimming, golfing, or play tennis with the kids. Finish your match with a meal at the poolside grill or take the family for a fine dining experience at the North Grille. The club offers an active family plenty of choices both day and night. Ever since the Robert Trent Jones II designed course opened in 1956 and renovated in 1999, it has consistently been in Golf Digest’s top 100 golf courses in the country.
Grab a pair of hiking boots, snowshoes or skis from the mudroom, get in your car and you are at the gateway to Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks, a mere 16 miles from world class skiing at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort or just 9 miles from the town of Jackson. In addition to the private walking trail around the property, there are 69 miles of public pathways nearby. See for more information.
