Military Interment of Dr. Norman L. Forste at Sacramento Valley VA National Cemetery
The military interment of my father, Dr. Norman L. Forste at the Sacramento Valley VA National Cemetery in Dixon, California. He died on October 11, 2013, at the age of 78, and due to the backlog created by the government shut-down, was interred today. It was a beautiful day and a moving ceremony. Dr. Forste served in the Air Force for 30 years, mostly as a reservist with the 940th at McClellan Air Force base following a stint in Korean during the conflict, before he retired at the rank of Major. He was married to the love of his life, Catherine Jean Culver, for 55 years, and had four children and six grandchildren. He also achieved five degrees, all during night school, while working full-time, receiving an A.A., a B.A, two Masters Degrees and a Ph.D. He was a pioneer of computer technology, having developed the CLETS (California Law Enforcement Telecommunications System) while working for the California Department of Corrections, and later on, the California Fiscal Information System for the state Department of Finance, the California State University System and other educational institutions. He was one of the founding partners for the Deloitte office in Sacramento and was a member of the Sutter Club.

Mountain View Cemetery - The Journey Through Millionaires Row
Mountain View Cemetery was erected by east bay pioneers in 1863 within the city of Oakland after the city graveyard did not have a enough room to sustain the dearly departed. The cemetery would be designed by Frederick Law Olmsted who believed that man and nature should be in harmony. Today it is over 200 acres, contains nearly 200k interments, gardens, chapels, mausoleums, crypts, Civil War, Chinese and Pioneers sections all within the San Gabriel Mountains. The most famous area of the cemetery is a place called The Millionaires Row which contains some of the most prominent, powerful and wealthy men who made an impact in the state of California. This is a grandiose cemetery one of the finest in the state full of nature, history and lore. Also buried here is Black Dahlia whose murder is still till this day one of the oldest cold cases in LA after her death she was buried here. This is one of the most gorgeous cemeteries in California with cityscapes of Oakland and even the bay on a clear day. This video does not do this place justice over 200 thousand are interred here so much to see in Oakland's most haunted burial ground. If you want to delve more into this cemetery. This is the one place that is a home away from a home in Oakland its pristine, beautiful, serene and history lurks around every turn. Middletown Cemetery; Pioneer and Indigent Burials, Placerville CA
Middletown Cemetery is located in Placerville CA, in El Dorado County. There are over 600 documented burials, but only two-thirds of them have markers. This cemetery was mostly in use before 1871, and after the 1880s it was used less frequently. After the county hospital cemetery was closed in the early 1960s, the indigent burials were placed here until the mid-1990s. The newest marker found is dated 2007, and the oldest is probably the one found dated 1858. Middletown Cemetery was deeded to El Dorado County in 1934.

Goodleberg Cemetery, One of New York States Most Haunted Cemeteries
Just outside of Buffalo New York lies a little cemetery in South Wales NY. Rumors have it that a local doctor would preform abortions and then threw the aborted fetuses in the small pond that you can begin to see at 18 seconds into the video. This doctor also supposedly buried or burned the young woman who didn't survive the abortion procedure. The doctor supposedly hung himself from one of the tree's in the cemetery. Growing up I have heard so many different ghost stories about Goodleberg Cemetery that it always made for an interesting trip around Halloween. In the video notice the fake skeleton hanging from the tree at 1:20 and the plastic Rat at 2:00 minutes. obviously I'm not the only one who enjoys this cemetery around Halloween!

FAMOUS GRAVE TOUR: Walking Tour Of The Historic Savannah Memorial Park Cemetery In Rosemead, CA
FAMOUS GRAVES TOUR - Savannah Memorial Park Cemetery in Rosemead, is a California Historic Landmark. It's a tiny American graveyard with a huge history and many surprising, and even shocking, residents.
One of my favorites is William Billy L. Dodson, an early Los Angeles area female impersonator and performer. You don't hear of many drag queen performers from the early 1900s. That's one of the reasons I love visiting cemeteries. You just never know who you're going to discover.
It's also one of the best kept secrets when it comes to final resting places in Southern California.

Historic 1800s Evergreen Cemetery Coffins Visible
Evergreen Cemetery is located in Bartow FL. It is a historically African American cemetery dating back to the 1800s. For many years it was left in a state of disrepair till the city took it over a few years ago. But many of the tombstones are broken and knocked over, crypts are cracked and have holes in it. Some are big enough you can see the coffins inside.
