Tour TravelEssence has sixty Dutch out of the New Zealand Kaikoura. The earthquake last weekend, the only access road to the coastal village impassable and tourists stuck. The company has hired a plane, because assistance from the New Zealand navy still in gestation.
The tour company picks up the Dutch who have booked them in groups of eight or nine people. They are all expected to have picked up today. After that they travel to Blenheim and Wellington.

Actually, the Dutch had to wait for the arrival of the Navy, but that could take a few days. That takes us too long and that is why we have hired a plane, said a spokesman for TravelEssence.
Kaikoura was killed by the earthquake. A runway instead got hardly damaged by the quake and is now being used to rescue the tourists. In the coastal village stay more than 1,200 tourists, including so sixty Dutch.

New Zealand - West Coast

Delicious takeaways if you're in a hurry. If not, enjoy the fine dining experience. Be welcomed by the friendly staff and be shown to your table. Browse the extensive Asian menu over a drink. It includes dishes from China, Thailand and Japan. Once your order is taken, the busy kitchen goes into full swing, a sight that deserves to be seen.
The end result is some amazing dishes that are then presented to the table, ready to be enjoyed.

30 Tips for Backpacking in New Zealand ➜
-- About this video --
After waking up in the Mountain Jade Backpackers in Hokitika, we are taking the 20-minute drive to Hokitika Gorge to do the Hokitika Gorge Walk.
When we arrive at the car park for Hokitika Gorge, there are heaps of information signs telling us about the walk and surrounding flora and fauna. Then we head on our way down to the gorge.
On the way down on the Hokitika Gorge Walk, we get glimpses of the gorge and it’s famous swing bridge on the way. We see the milky blue waters of the Hokitika Gorge among grey rock sides and lush green vegetation. Right here is one of the most stunning places in New Zealand.
We make our way down to the Hokitika Gorge Swing Bridge where we get lots of photos then the walk continues down to the river itself. After spending way too much time loving the New Zealand scenery, we head back to that famous Hokitika Gorge swingbridge and back to Hokitika.
So what do you think of Hokitika Gorge? Is it one of the things to do on the South Island you would add to your New Zealand must-do list?

TIKI Wine Story
Welcome to TIKI, an exciting new range of organically grown New Zealand wines. We are a family-owned winemaking business dedicated to making great wine.
Founders and owners, Royce and Sue McKean, named their wine venture TIKI to pay homage to the wisdom of Royce's Maori ancestors. Royce's great-great grandfather, Tiki Tere Mihi, was a chieftain of Ngati Uenuku, who revered the land and its significance to his people. The esteemed tiki is also a powerful good luck charm for the Maori people of New Zealand.
TIKI's family-owned vineyards are all certified sustainable and from the 2012 vintage onwards, will be grown organically.
Our mission is to make organically grown premium New Zealand wines that are available at competitive prices in all channels of the global wine market. Our vineyards are located in Marlborough, Waipara and Central Otago.
TIKI's first harvest was in 2009 and we make four award-winning varieties; Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Gris, Pinot Rosé and Pinot Noir. Our wines include TIKI and sister brands MAUI and ALPINE VALLEY.
We invite you to enjoy our wines, crafted by one of New Zealand's most exciting new wine ventures.
