My name is Zahi Shaked
In 2000 I became a registered liscenced tourist guide.
My dedication in life is to pass on the ancient history of the Holy Land.
Following upon many years of travel around the world, which was highlighted by a very exciting emotional and soul-searching meeting with the Dalai Lama, I realized that I had a mission. To pass on the the history of the Holy Land, its religions, and in particular, the birth and development of Christianity.
In order to fulfill this calling in the best way possible, I studied in depth, visited, and personally experienced each and every important site of the ancient Christians. I studied for and received my first bachelors degree in the ancient history of the Holy Land, and am presently completing my studies for my second degree.(Masters)
Parralel to my studies, and in order to earn a living, I was employed for many years in advertising. What I learned there was how to attract the publics attention, generate and, increase interest, and assimilate information. All this I use as tools to describe, explain and deepen the interest in the sites that we visit. From my experience, I have learned that in this way, the Holy Land becomes more than just history, and that the large stones that we see scattered about in dissaray, join together one by one until they become - a Byzantine Church. This also happens when I lead a group of Pilgrims in the Steps of Jesus. We climb to the peak of Mount Precipice, glide over the land to the Sea of Galilee, land on the water and see the miracle which enfolds before us. This is a many faceted experience. Not only history which you will remember and cherish, but an experience which I hope will be inplanted in your hearts and minds, and will accompany you all the days of your life.
Jaffa Flea Market Walking Tour - Tel Aviv Jaffa Video Walk
Walking Tour of JAFFA, Israel. Jaffa Flea Market Walking Tour, Tel Aviv Jaffa Israel. Video Walk
Flea Market Jaffa, which is allowed to buy everything: from the beautiful dishes tamed work, completing the ancient furniture.
This bazaar is located on 2 streets and it still has streets with shopping centers, where they sell products from other hands, but these shopping centers are no longer considered a fraction of the flea market.
The main street of sales is Olya Zion, around which the smallest are concentrated.
There are also antiques - true curiosities, old-time clocks, microscopes, cameras, playing cards, prehistoric lamp receivers, the battle pattern of the colonial forces of England, playing cards, photos, books, and counters with prestigious clothing, and oriental gifts, decorations from silver and turquoise, childish toys, in a single - everything, if the tycoon wishes.
For a layman, the chance to acquire a fake is quite great. It is safer and cheaper to get a copper product at this market.

Tour around Jaffa in Tel Aviv, Israel visiting the beach promenade and flea market יָפוֹ يَافَا Know as Yafo in Hebrew and Yaffa in Arabic, Jaffa is historically the most ancient area in and around Tel Aviv. With a diverse population it is where most of the Arab population settles in Tel Aviv. From various vantage points one can enjoy gorgeous beach promenade views. This area, in particular, is especially popular with fitness buffs enjoying jogging, running, swimming and surfing.

With restored alleys, art galleries and quaint cafes, Jaffe is a city that is very pedestrian friendly.
While strolling along the Jaffa seaport we spotted fishermen and street musicians busking for coins.
After scarfing down hummus and other delectable Israeli and Arab snacks, we spent the rest of our time making our way down narrow lanes of the Flea Market and Bazaar. From antiques to souvenirs this is where tourists load up on items such as finely crafted hookahs and postcards to send home.

Bats Bat Cave
Today we're going on a tour to Jaffa where we're going to be checking out a traditional flea market.
I knew we'd find a cat. Crazy cat lady. Hello!
Background music playing.
Bat sounds.
Background music playing.
Man playing music.
You can find lots of really cool items in this market. They have antiques, souvenirs, paintings, furniture.
So we really enjoyed exploring Jaffa or Yaffo as they like to call it. So my favorite thing about wandering around Jaffa has been that they have these narrow little alleys that are just kind of like a maze and you come across these friendly little cats that are just hanging out, so it's been a really fun place to explore. It's also a nice sunny day and we're right by the sea, so it was a great morning out and a nice little introduction to Israel.
This is part of our Travel in Israel series. We're making a series of videos showcasing Israeli culture, Israeli arts, Israeli foods, Israeli cuisine, Jewish religion and Israeli people.

Richard Branson haggles with Jaffa Flea Market locals in Tel Aviv (subtitles)
To celebrate our new route to Tel Aviv we set up a Virgin Atlantic stall at the Jaffa Flea Market and let Richard Branson haggle with the locals for deals on flights to London. Explore Tel Aviv:
Find it at the Jaffa flea market
One of the oldest bazaars in the world, the Jaffa flea market is now rapidly becoming the hottest new location in Tel Aviv, famed for fashion and food.
The Jaffa flea market is one of the oldest bazaars in the world. Whereas it used to be a place to find knick-knacks and second-hand furniture or clothing, today it is also rapidly becoming one of the trendiest spots in Israel.
Fashion designers, artists, antique dealers and gourmet chefs have all converged upon the portside area just south of Tel Aviv, making it a destination for bargain hunters and fashionistas from Israel and abroad, and even a newly desirable place to live.
It's not exactly Soho in NY or Camden in London, says Ava Rodan of Alma Jewelry. It's an original place where you can find really old antiques or new shops with a lovely atmosphere.

Tel aviv: Jaffa
esiding by the seaside of the Mediterranean Sea for thousands of years, the city of Jaffa has seen its share of Conquers, regimes changes and by now its share of tourists and pilgrims. Built in a Military and Merchant key point, Jaffa has been a major key strategic location in the times of the many Empires that ruled it over the years.
in this video we will show you the highlights of Old Jaffa you need to put on your check list, and if you stick around until the end of the video, you’ll get some great tips that will help you make better decisions, and have a safe and more enjoyable trip.
Today, being part of Tel Aviv – Jaffa, it is a must-see place for every Tourist who visits the Holly land – be it a party lover, History aficionado or foody. Jaffa has a little bit of everything fo everyone.
If you are coming from Tel Aviv, do yourself a favor and walk your way down to Jaffa through the promenade. With 10 months of sun, it’s almost always time to start your day by the beach. If you are staying in a hotel in Mid - Tel Aviv, the walk to Jaffa Harbor should take you more than 20 minutes.
Right at the beginning of the harbor, if you stop and tun your gaze to the sea, you’ll be able to spot the Andromeda rock, named after a princess from Greek Mythology, whose Mother, Cassiopeia chained her to that rock as a sacrifice to Poseidon’s sea creature.
A couple minutes’ walk further will bring you to Jaffa port. Here you can grab delicious and fresh sea food, Take a boat ride and if you have the time, go to Na’Laga’at, one of a kind Art center for integrating people with disabilities to society.
climb your way through the port’s History filled Magical little streets, which serve as a home to many Art galleries, nifty little gift shops and Museums, all the way up to St. peter’s church.
Walk your way through Kikar Kedumim with a cup of freshly grained coffee or a scone of ice cream and when you cross the whishing bridge to th Ha’Pisga gardens, make sure to stop, touch your Zodiac sign, look at the sea and make a wish. A local legend has it, that it just may come true.
If you hadn’t had lunch yet, head down to the Flea Market, where you can work your appetite just a little bit more, bargaining for vintage items, trinkets and little gems. Finding a place to eat would prove easy, as the market is ubiquitous with café’s and authentic middle eastern restaurants.
Alternatively, you can grab a bite in one of the many Wonderful Bakeries along and around Yefet street, - one of the main arteries of Jaffa - and head right back up to Ha’pisga gardens for a sunset you will not soon forget.
Jaffa is packed with after dark activities. Many of the restaurants and art galleries you already walked by are open till late including classical places like the Ha’Hamam and more. If you like nice places for a beer we recommend “ beit kandinof” next to H’apisga gardens, which is a renovated old house that serves today as a bar with several art galleries, which attract lots of burners and hipsters,
“Ramesses”, which is a bunch of united restaurants and bars in a lovely pedestrian area, next to the clock tower circle, and “Shaffa” bar which locates in one of the alleys int the middle of the flea market.
Here’s the tip we promised you at the beginning of this video: If you are heading to Jaffa from Tel aviv or heading back to Tel Aviv at the end of your day in old Jaffa, make sure to pass through Ha’tahana. The old train station on the Jaffa-Jerusalem line, located between the sea shore and the Neveh Zedek neighborhood, which operated from 1892 to 1948. This was the first railway line between Little Asia and Egypt. A few years ago, the station was converted to a compound that offers a variety of activities for the whole family.
