Jaffa is one of the oldest port cities in the Mediterranean. For over 5000 years Jaffa has served as a gateway between east and west, north and south, a cosmopolitan city that witnessed the passage of warriors, pilgrims and visitors, goods, ideas, fashion, and stories. The tales of Jaffa are presented in the new visitors' center at the heart of Kdumim Square in Old Jaffa, within an archeological space located under the popular square.
At the Jaffa Harbor pier you will find the major archeological finds discovered in excavations in the city, representing the cultures, goods, armies and pilgrims that have passed through the city over millennia and left their mark on it. Visit ancient buildings thousands of years old and meet Yehuda Agronimos, a Jaffa man of the first century CE, who lived in an ancient house in the middle of the visitors' center. Yehuda Agronimos meets various personae of Jaffa that come to lodge at his home and recount to him the tales of the city.
Exhibit languages: Hebrew, English, Arabic, French, German, Spanish and Russian.

My name is Zahi Shaked
In 2000 I became a registered liscenced tourist guide.
My dedication in life is to pass on the ancient history of the Holy Land.
Following upon many years of travel around the world, which was highlighted by a very exciting emotional and soul-searching meeting with the Dalai Lama, I realized that I had a mission. To pass on the the history of the Holy Land, its religions, and in particular, the birth and development of Christianity.
In order to fulfill this calling in the best way possible, I studied in depth, visited, and personally experienced each and every important site of the ancient Christians. I studied for and received my first bachelors degree in the ancient history of the Holy Land, and am presently completing my studies for my second degree.(Masters)
Parralel to my studies, and in order to earn a living, I was employed for many years in advertising. What I learned there was how to attract the publics attention, generate and, increase interest, and assimilate information. All this I use as tools to describe, explain and deepen the interest in the sites that we visit. From my experience, I have learned that in this way, the Holy Land becomes more than just history, and that the large stones that we see scattered about in dissaray, join together one by one until they become - a Byzantine Church. This also happens when I lead a group of Pilgrims in the Steps of Jesus. We climb to the peak of Mount Precipice, glide over the land to the Sea of Galilee, land on the water and see the miracle which enfolds before us. This is a many faceted experience. Not only history which you will remember and cherish, but an experience which I hope will be inplanted in your hearts and minds, and will accompany you all the days of your life.

Jaffa city tour. Travel vlog from Israel! תל אביב יפו يَافَا,
******Available in HD******
Hi, everybody!
Today I'm taking you to Yaffo! (Jaffa, Israel).
This is a very interesting place with complicated history... We'll have a small walking tour there.
Startimg with the flea market, eating some hummus in a local restaurant, later we'll climb up to see
Kikar Kedumim Street and St. Peter's Church and Al-Bahr Mosque.
After that we gonna go to The Jaffa Port to stare at the beautiful sunset. Also-there is a restaurant called
The Old Man and the Sea, so if you ever decide to travel to ISrael you must eat there!
Jaffa (also known as Yafo) is the ancient port city out of which Tel Aviv has now grown. Jaffa has, in recent years, like much of South Tel Aviv, been regenerated with the old narrow streets and courtyards becoming another highly desirable part of Tel Aviv’s urban tapestry.
Jaffa flea market is a well-known attraction of the area, with vendors selling a diverse range of interesting and unique products. Meanwhile, the narrow passageways and ancient buildings in the Old City of Jaffa are worlds away from modern Tel Aviv.
The history of Jaffa is a long one. As of the world’s oldest ports, Jaffa is thought to have been the port from which Jonah left in the story of the Whale! The port continued to be important through history and served as the main entry point to the land of Israel through until the late 19th century when Jews from around the world began to return to Israel. It was through Jaffa that they entered the country and in Jaffa that many initially settled. The huge population increase led to overcrowding, and tense relations developed between the Jewish and Arab residents of the city. The result was that Jews began building outside of Jaffa, firstly neighborhoods such as Neve Tzedek, and later the city of Tel Aviv.
As Tel Aviv developed, Jaffa decayed. By the 1940’s Tel Aviv was so much larger than Jaffa, then dominantly Arab as most Jews had moved out, that it was made into a neighborhood of Tel Aviv to create the official title of the city of Tel Aviv-Yafo. The decay continued until the municipality created a Development Organization to oversee the restoration of Jaffa, which continues today. In late 2011, a new Old Jaffa Visitors Center opened to the public and this features multimedia displays depicting Jaffa through the ages, as well as self-guided walking tours of the city as it is today.
Thank you very much for watching, don't forget to subscribe my channel and visit my social media!

JAFFA (YAFO) - BRIEF TOUR OF OLD CITY
JAFFA (Yafo) - THE ANCIENT JEWEL OF TEL AVIV
This beautiful city is located a few miles south of Tel-Aviv, Israel.
Jaffa claims over 4000 years of history,
Its old winding stone alleys, overlooking the blue Mediterranean sea, are a charming mix of middle eastern and European cultures.
Restaurants, cafes and shops, hidden away from the hustle and bustle of Tel-Aviv, are a delight to discover.
Entering the Old Town, by finding the archway from the promenade, provides a romantic timeless doorway.
This video was taken whilst walking on a small handheld camera....so please excuse the shakes. Overall we hope it manages to convey the charm and historical magic of the city of Jaffa. There is so much more to see than is shown in this breif tour.

Old Jaffa (Tel - Aviv Israel) Tour guide: Zahi Shaked - 23.6.2011
סיור כל כך צבעוני ביפו העתיקה Tel Aviv-Yafo: תֵּל־אָבִיב-יָפוֹ, lit. Spring Hill-Jaffa; Arabic: تل أبيب, Tall ʼAbīb),[2] usually referred to as Tel Aviv, is the second most populous city in Israel, with a population of 404,400.[1] The city is situated on the Israeli Mediterranean coastline, on a land area of 51.4 square kilometres (19.8 sq mi). It is the largest and most populous city in the metropolitan area of Gush Dan, home to 3.3 million residents as of 2010.[1] The city is governed by the Tel Aviv-Yafo municipality, headed by Ron Huldai. Residents of Tel Aviv are called Tel Avivians.[3]
Tel Aviv was founded in 1909 on the outskirts of the ancient port city of Jaffa (Hebrew: יָפוֹ, Yafo; Arabic: يافا, Yaffa). The growth of Tel Aviv soon outpaced Jaffa, which was largely Arab at the time. Tel Aviv and Jaffa were merged into a single municipality in 1950, two years after the establishment of the State of Israel. Tel Aviv's White City, designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2003, comprises the world's largest concentration of Bauhaus buildings.[4][5][6]
