Jaisalmer, Rajasthan, India in 4K Ultra HD
The desert city of Jaisalmer, called The Golden City because of the color of the sandstone used for its buildings and the fort. The Jaisalmer Fort was built in the 12th century, with Royal Palace, Jain temples, and residential buildings inhabited even now, it is one of the six forts included in the UNESCO World Heritage Site Hill Forts of Rajasthan. The sandstone used for many houses and temples in Jaisalmer is intricately carved.
Recorded January 2018 in 4K Ultra HD with Sony AX100 and a6300.

Jaisalmer City Guide | India Travel Video in Rajasthan
Join us as we visit Jaisalmer in this city travel guide covering the best things to do and top attractions in the 'Golden City' of Rajasthan, India. Located nearby the Pakistan border and at the doorsteps of the Thar Desert 'The Great Indian Desert' this small sized jewel of a city is a welcome change for those arriving from bustling Delhi, Jodhpur or Jaipur. Jaisalmer Fort is one of the most amazing places I've ever visited in India. As a living fort you'll find a plethora of shops selling souvenirs, restaurants, hotels and Jain temples. You can get lost meandering down narrow alleys and enjoy the best views of the city along the edges of the walls or by having rooftop tea or dinner. You'll also want to budget time to visit the Thar Desert on a camel safari ride where you'll pass by gypsy villages and enjoy local cuisine and tea prepared over a fire. Come find out why Jaisalmer (जैसलमेर) is one of our favorite cities in Rajasthan, India.
Things to do in Jaisalmer Travel Guide:
1) Jaisalmer Fort (जैसलमेर फोर्ट) to shop for souvenirs and wandering around
2) Visiting a Jain Temple in the Thar Desert)
3) Thar Desert (लाइक,कमेंट व सब्सक्राइब करे) experiencing the culture, food and gypsy villages
4) Camel Safari ride in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan, India visiting the Sam Sand Dunes (1 day, 3 day and week long options)
5) Jain Temples inside the Jaisalmer Fort (जैन धर्म)
6) Jaisalmer Fort Palace Museum & Heritage Center
7) Gadisar Lake (गाडिसर झील) for sunset and a boat ride
8) Rooftop dining on ground level to admire Jaisalmer Fort at night
9) Waking up for sunrise to view 'The Golden City'
10) Jaisalmer Fort for sunset dinner

Jaisalmer City Guide | India Travel Video in Rajasthan Transcript:
After an 18 hour overnight train ride from Delhi, we finally reached Jaisalmer, a city of yellow sandstone that lies in the middle of the Thar Desert. This proved to be my favourite stop of our month long adventure in India; now let me take you on a tour and show you why.
With so much colour all around us, it wasn’t long before we were lured into a shop and found ourselves picking out souvenirs in the form of wall hangings, pillow cases, and a small painting or two. Our luggage gained an extra couple of pounds in this city alone.
But it wasn’t all shopping in Jaisalmer. We also made time to do a bit of sightseeing inside the fort, and one of the main attractions here are the Jain Temples.
Another thing we’d recommend doing in Jaisalmer is having dinner on a rooftop restaurant while the sun sets. There are plenty of restaurants scattered across the city and the views you get as the sun goes down are amazing. We chose one at random and it included a live music performance.
The following day was all about visiting the Thar Desert on an afternoon camel trek. It was a nice change of pace from the city, and we got to enjoy a traditional meal cooked over a campfire.
The next morning we went back to the fort because we just couldn’t stay away. I visited the Jaisalmer Fort Palace Museum & Heritage Center, while Sam and his mom picked up a few additional gifts for family back home.
This is part of our Travel in India video series showcasing Indian food, Indian culture and Indian cuisine.

Gypsies in the deserts near Jaisalmer, India (Rajastan)
We lived with the gypsies in the desert in northwest India - near Jaisalmer. We left on camel into the desert thinking it was for one day, and we ended up staying 5 days. We prepared and ate desert chicken and mutton (goat) for meals. The gypsies came and ate with us, danced and played music.

INDIA - JAISALMER DESERT FESTIVAL AND CITY (Full HD)
The Jaisalmer Desert Festival is an annual event organized by the Rajasthan Tourism Development Corporation each February at the beautiful golden desert city of Jaisalmer in the state of Rajasthan, India.
During the three-day event you will get to see cultural events: camel races, camels polo, turban tying competitions and competition of man with the best moustache. Everything is exotic in the Desert festival.
The desert festival in Jaisalmer was started to attract foreign tourists, who always wanted to explore as many facets of Rajasthan as they now thay have opportunity.
This is one on few movies about India which I have on my travel channel but first one, which shows the indian desert. Colorful festival with camels, dance and music.

Camel Safari In Jaisalmer-INDIA Tourism Travel Guide
Camel Safari in the desert and in the middle of a sandstorm!
We took a camel safari tour in Jaisalmer-India. We got to go in a jeep to the desert and after that we met up with the camels and our guide, we set off in to the desert.
After the camel ride we got some freetime on the sand dunes before some snacks and dinner was served. After dinner we saw the sunset and went by the campfire to just relax before sleeping.
But after 1h outside it started raining and the wind picked up fast! Tent went up and we moved inside to not get wet and get sand everywhere. We were in a sandstorm! Fun trip but it was enugh with one night and two days;)

India Jaisalmer
Walk in Jaisalmer, India
North West India: Rajasthan part 2 (Jaisalmer, Jodhpur, Kumbalgarth and Pushkar (fair)
Part 2:
North India, a videoreport of our journey through Rajasthan. The most colourful state of India.
Jaisalmer: The walled city as a whole is a landmark with its many beautifully carved facades, narrow, winding streets and intimate bazaars. The fort is one of the oldest and largest of Rajasthan. Moreover, it is inhabited, what a journey through this medieval neighborhood is an experience like in a thousand and one nights.
Six kilometers north of the city lie the cenotaphs, monuments of the cremation of the maharajas.Mandawa. It is a very nice town. Time seems to have stopped here.
In the Thar desert we visit a little village and meet a old musician who play two flutes simultaneous.
Jodhpur, also known as the blue city. From the fort, you can clearly see why Jodhpur has been nicknamed the 'blue city', many houses are painted blue. The color blue actually means that the house is owned by a Brahmin; a person of a higher 'caste', or class. Nowadays everyone in Jodhpur may paint his house blue. The color blue would repel insects.
Kumbhalgarh Fort is a Mewar fortress on the westerly range of Aravalli Hills. Less known and visited then other fortresses in Rajasthan but very interesting. It is a World Heritage Site included in Hill Forts of Rajasthan. Built during the course of the 15th century by Rana Kumbha and enlarged through the 19th century.
In the environment of Kumbhalgarh we visit a small rural village; a unique opportunity to meet locals and smoke the pipe with them.
We end this part of our video report in Pushkar. What to say about Pushkar. Each year in the month of Karthik, a spectacular 10-day fair called the Pushkar Fair is organized in the desert town of Pushkar. During this time huge numbers of camels, horses, cows, goats and sheep collect here and then are then traded by their owners. With the sudden appearance of these hundreds of men, women and animals in the otherwise quiet town of Pushkar, the desert seems to come alive and becomes filled with colour, music, laughter and enjoyment. Men can be seen wearing their vibrant traditional turbans that are an integral part of their attire and the women are equally decked up from head to toe in their multi-coloured lehengas with glittering bangles, necklaces, silver waistbands, anklets, and flamboyant chunnis.
