Located on the northwest coast of Java, Jakarta is the country's economic, cultural and political centre, and with a population of 9,761,407.

Things To Do in Jakarta Indonesia - Jakarta Travel Guide

Are you are flying to Java Indonesia and looking for things to do in 1 day in Jakarta? Jakarta is a gateway to the many islands of Indonesia and many tourists and travellers will find themselves with a day in Jakarta. In this video I explore some of Jakarta's main sights, such as the National Monument, Istiqlal Mosque, Jakarta Cathedral and Pasar Baru.

Indonesia’s capital, Jakarta, lies on the northwest coast of Java which is the most populous island in the world. Jakarta city is well known for having lots of traffic, but head to Merdeka Square and then there are a number of places within easy walking distance. On my walking tour of central Jakarta I visit the following places:

1. Monas Monument (National Monument) in Merdeka Square
2. Istiqlal Mosque - the largest Mosque in Southeast Asia
3. Jakarta Cathedral - St Mary of the Assumption
4. Shopping at Pasar Baru - street market
5. Jakarta Shopping Malls
6. Street Food

Walking around Jakarta Indonesia VLOG

Taking to the streets of Jakarta Indonesia carrying my iPhone. Please LIKE COMMENT and SUBSCRIBE! I left the Sultan hotel and residence and walked up towards the GBK stadium area before crossing the main road, doing a loop of the Pacific Place shopping mall area, an old market and then heading back towards the hotel.

Jakarta is the capital and largest city in Indonesia, it's a busy vibrant city with a huge population of over 10 million people!

I'm staying here for a few weeks while working on the 2018 Asian Games, and will try and upload a few more walking around type videos, fitness videos and VLOGs while I'm here.

Indonesia operated the first MRT in 1 April 2019 [phase1].
This phase 1 of MRT Jakarta consists of the subway/undeground section for about 6 km and the elevated section for about 10 km.
The subway section runs under jl. Thamrin and Sudirman.

Sudirman Central Business District or SCBD is a business district with an integrated mixed use development concept, located in South Jakarta, Indonesia, consisting of condominiums, office buildings, hotels, shopping and entertainment centers. The total area of SCBD is about 45 hectare, which is again divided into 25 lots. About 13 hectares of the district are used to develop road network and landscaping.[1] SCBD is located within Golden Triangle of Jakarta. There are seven entry and exit points from SCBD to different avenues of Jakarta. Most of the office buildings in the district are connected by underground pedestrian links.

In September 2007, Jakarta, the capital city of Indonesia, held its first Car-Free Day that closed the main avenue of the city from cars and invited local pedestrian to exercise and having their activities on the streets that normally full of cars and traffic. Along the road from the Senayan traffic circle on Jalan Sudirman, South Jakarta, to the Selamat Datang Monument at the Hotel Indonesia traffic circle on Jalan Thamrin, all the way north to National Monument Central Jakarta, cars are cleared out for pedestrians.[5] Since May 2012 Car-Free Day in Jakarta is held every Sunday. It is held on the main avenues of the city, Jalan Sudirman and Jalan Thamrin, from Senayan area to Monas (Monumen Nasional), from 6 AM to 11 AM.
