Trinity Lake Fest 2011 - wine tasting, cookoff, and Jazz
The non-profit Trinity Lake Revitalization Alliance will hold its 2nd annual Trinity Lake Fest fundraiser on Saturday July 23 to support the Alliance and benefit the Coffee Creek and Trinity Center fire departments and Trinity Center Community Hall.
This year's Fest will be held on the grounds of the Airport Inn Resort in Trinity Center over looking Trinity Lake and the Trinity Center airport. Event activities are continuous from 3:00 to 7:00pm.
The Fest features wine tasting from nine wineries, an appetizer cookoff with cash prizes and public sampling, famous Weaverville Clamper Philly steak sandwiches, local microbrew sales, a silent auction, raffle to support local after-school sports programs, and live Jazz.
General admission is free. VIP wine tasting from 3-4pm is $60 at the door and Main Event tasting is $25. Discount tickets are available online until July 18.
Many of our region's finest wineries will be pouring their wines, including Alpen Cellars, Burnsini Vineyards, Butter Creek Ranch, Dogwood Estate Winery, Lassen Peak Winery, Meredith Family Vineyards, Mt. Tehama Winery, One Maple Winery, and R.Merlo Estate Vineyards.
The Lake Fest also features the Awesome Appetizer cookoff with local foodies competing for Judge's and People's choice awards. Wine tasting tickets include tickets for tasting the contestants' creations. Appetizer sampling tickets can be purchased without wine tasting. The public can purchase extra voting tickets to stuff the ballot box of their favorite contestant.
Back by popular demand, Fest attendees can purchase Philly steak or grilled chicken sandwich cooked up by the Weaverville Clampers. Microbrews from Lost Coast and Etna Brewing, water, and soda are also available for purchase on-site.
