Kenya Safari Tour - The Real Kenya
Big Five Tours President Ashish Sanghrajka, born in Kenya, shares why travelers should experience the Kenya Safari with Big Five Tours.
Learn more:
Kenya has answered that call with one of the greatest natural shows on earth -- the annual migration of hundreds of thousands of wildebeest and zebra crossing the Masai Mara's rolling grasslands and wooded savannas. The sweeping countryside of the Great Rift Valley takes in striking Mt. Kenya, the second highest peak in Africa. Vast Lake Victoria is the second largest freshwater lake in the world, and the source of the White Nile, one of the two tributaries of Egypt's mythic Nile River.
Our vision with Kenya is to have you learning from the locals, staying away from the masses in private land space. The issue of poaching and the decline of the cat population is of huge concern to Big Five, and that's why we offer a unique experience in Kenya, unlike any other.
Big Five is different because we have made a commitment to move away from large-scale inns and lodges in favor of small private conservancies that offer a practical sustainable approach. We recognize that a multipronged approach is needed that includes tour operators, conservancies and other conservation entities working together to save Kenya's, and indeed Africa's wild places as well as the wildlife and the local communities that depend on them to survive for future generations.
Contact Big Five to learn more about their custom Kenya Safari experience.

There are few cities in the world that can compare to Jerusalem in terms of ancient history and religious significance. It’s one of the most fascinating cities in the world, and it’s a city that I’ve wanted to visit my entire life. Finally, along with my friend David ( and Rafram, we explored Jerusalem to discover the food treasures the city has to offer - and let me tell you, you’ll find some incredibly delicious food in Jerusalem!
We started off the Jerusalem food tour by first walking around East Jerusalem and starting with the best plate of hummus I’ve ever had. We then toured around Old Jerusalem, and enjoyed some incredible Palestinian food kebabs cooked by an incredible man who cooked with serious love and passion. Another highlight in Jerusalem was the mutabak, a thin pastry stuffed with cheese and baked.
After eating our way through Old Jerusalem, we then headed into West Jerusalem and went to lunch at an Israeli Jewish restaurant serving a mix of amazing dishes. The food was home-cooked in style, and absolutely sensation. A few more snacks and sightseeing throughout the afternoon, and that brought us all the way to dinner where David had made reservations to eat at one of the hottest restaurants in Jerusalem, Machneyuda Restaurant. It was quite an experience, and an amazing meal and lively atmosphere to wrap up this ultimate Jerusalem food tour.
Here’s all the food and places included in this Palestinian food and Israeli food tour of Jerusalem:

It was a lot of food in a single day, but it was one of the greatest food and learning days that I’ve ever had in my life. The generosity of the people we connected with, paired with the food, was truly a memorable experience in Jerusalem.
Thank you again to David ( and Rafram for showing me some of the best food in Jerusalem!

Ikoma Tented Camp
MOIVARO LODGES AND TENTED CAMPS
Moivaro Lodges and Tented Camps offer holiday accommodation in Tanzania, Zanzibar, Kenya, Zimbabwe and Morocco. They have a passion for the African continent, and they like to share that with you!
From the endless plains of the Serengeti to the snowy peaks of Mount Kilimanjaro, from the white sandy beaches of Zanzibar to the crowded outskirts of Nairobi, they know their way around, and they are happy to show you the way!
In their lodges they try to maintain the unique culture and style of the area. They support the community by working mostly with local staff, local suppliers, and local builders and building materials. When you are staying at one of their lodges or camps you will be assured to get a real African experience, without having to give up the comfort that you are used to back home.
THE SERENGETI
The Serengeti ecosystem is one of the oldest on earth, the essential features of climate, vegetation and fauna have barely changed in the past million years. And this is something you can feel when you visit the park. The unique ecosystem has inspired writers, film makers, photographers and scientists, and attracts over 90,000 visitors each year. It is the great migration for which the Serengeti is perhaps most famous: every October and November over a million wildebeest and about 200,000 zebras travel from the northern hills to the southern plains in search for greener land, and then swirl west and north after the long rains in April, May and June. So strong is the ancient instinct to move that no drought, gorge or crocodile infested river can hold them back.
IKOMA TENTED CAMP
Set in the midst of an incredible scenery of savannah and skies, you find Ikoma Tented Camp, sheltered in a grove of acacia trees. Ikoma has 35 traditional Meru tents, each under thatch with a private veranda overlooking the impressive plains of the Serengeti.
The central restaurant and bar area boast a large camp fire – an ideal spot to unwind with a chilled drink after a long day of exciting game viewing. Ikoma Tented Camp is ideally situated at the border of the world-renowned Serengeti National Park, along the path of the migrating wildebeests between Kenya and Tanzania.
From Ikoma you can enter the western corridor of the park, taking in Kirawira and the Grumeti river – home to the giant wildebeest-eating crocodiles. There is no better place to enjoy one of the world’s greatest wildlife spectacles. Staying at Ikoma Tented Camp gives you the unique opportunity to enjoy a night game drive or a walking safari, as the camp is located just outside the national park boundary. A great chance to see and hear some of the nocturnal animals that can’t be spotted in daytime, such as the Leopard, Aardvark and the Bat-eared fox.
Another special way of experiencing the bush is by going along on a guided walking safari. Guided by a professional ranger and guard you discover the bush and its inhabitants at close range. A great way to start or end a day in the Serengeti, followed by a breakfast in the bush or a sundowner at the close of the day. The airstrip a short distance away from the camp means you can be with us in next to no time and avoid the long drive through the park should you prefer a shorter journey.
