After visiting the Busch Gardens in Williamsburg, VA, the family and I decided to take the Jamestown-Scotland Ferry located in Surry, VA. The ferry is operated by the Virginia Department of Transportation that is free to the public. A great way to see the James River.

Jamestown - Scotland Ferry Road Tour
We had another great SAAB Event with our sister SAAB Club(S.A.A.B.S.) from NC. Our Scenic Road Tour took us through some picturesque Virginia twisty backroads and across the James River 3 times -- once courtesy the Jamestown - Scotland Ferry. We had a delightful lunch and enjoyed a private tour at The Virginia Beer Company, partaking in some award winning VA beer.
We were privileged to have absolutely glorious weather for the entire day. Post lunch we had another fantastic private tour at European Cars of Williamsburg. With the day slowly winding down and after many miles of touring, taking pictures/videos and talking SAAB, our SAAB Convoy settled in at Gloucester Point under the stunning 3,750 foot long double-swing span George P. Coleman Bridge. With the combination of; a beautiful shoreline, a refreshing breeze and some reinvigorating Baskin Robbins, this location was the perfect backdrop to take some farewell pictures, share some SAAB stories and simply enjoy the Riverwalk Landing and the setting of the sun.

Ride On the Jamestown Ferry - VA
A James River crossing on the Jamestown-Scotland Ferry provides an opportunity to see more of the world including UBC Mariel cargo ship, a variety of beautiful shore birds, the Jamestown settlement, and other ferry boats. That is a lot for a 15 minute ride!

Jamestown Ferry Ride Across The James River in Virginia
My ride on the Pocahontas Ferry across the James River in Virginia. This is a Free ferry for cars and buses, it connects Jamestown and Scotland Wharf on State Route 31. This was my first time on a car ferry so I was alittle axcited. This was my route to Williamsburg, Virginia for my trip to Busch Gardens.

HRMini Presents MINI's on the Ferry 3
In support of the American Cancer Society, Hampton Roads Club Mini revived the MINI's on the Ferry run. It departed from historic Yorktown, VA and transited up the Colonial Parkway to Jamestown, VA. At that point we regrouped and boarded the Jamestown-Scotland Ferry to Surry, VA. We had over 60 MINI's and Mini's participating from three states and the District of Columbia. HRMini would like to thank everyone who participated to make this event a complete success!
