Fishing the Daintree
On 15 September 2010, Amber and I took a charter with Jamie Beitzel's Fishing on The Daintree. Departure was from the ramp near the Daintree River ferry and we had intended to fish the river for the morning but the weather was so good we headed out the river mouth instead. After catching live bait in the river we headed out to Snapper Island and tried our luck with poppers hoping for a Queenie or GT but had no luck. We anchored and had some good fun with a couple of Largemouth Nannygai and a Hammerhead Shark before heading back to the island for a last attempt at the elusive GT's and Queenies. They didn't show up on the day but all in all it was a great 4 hours on the water. Thanks to Jamie (and his 'work experience' deckie, Dylan) who was a great guide, highly recommended and he will definitely get repeat business from me. If only I could get back to tropical North Queensland a bit more often!

Swimming at Mossman Gorge
Mossman Gorge
Far North Queensland, Mossman Gorge is a brilliant place and run by the local Indigenous Community and they do an awesome job.
This place is pristine with its flowing waters, rapids and waterfalls, together with incredible rain forest and some incredible walks and suspension bridges.
Swimming in this area you need to choose your days as at times this flows extremely fast where you could get into a lot of trouble. This day we swam was borderline and even though you can hardly see it, the water was flowing quite hard.
Please enjoy the walk and the views, including the fish in the Pools which are fully protected.

In 2016 I quit my job and sold all my stuff to travel the world. I am on a journey to learn how to travel continuously through working from my laptop. My Goal is to become location Independant (A Digital Nomad) and to show you that you can create your own lifestyle and escape the traffic jams of the 9-5 corporate life. I want to show you that it can be done and hopefully to inspire you to go out there and create something for yourself.
I will be showing you how i live my life through travel vlogs every week.

Jamie’s Ministry of Food working across the community in Mossman Gorge
Jamie’s Ministry of Food Mobile Kitchen recently rolled out its home cooking program in the Aboriginal community of Mossman Gorge. The Good Foundation, which delivers Jamie’s Ministry of Food in Australia, developed the program in consultation with the local Aboriginal community, Elders, Apunipima Cape York Health Council and Mossman Gorge’s governing body, Bamanga Bubu Ngadimunku, adapting the program to local needs to ensure its success.
Supported by funding from the Queensland Government, Department of Health, Mossman Gorge is the second Aboriginal community location for Jamie Oliver’s Australian home cooking program. Jamie’s Ministry of Food is developing programs tailored to the needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, recognising the gap that exists in health outcomes between Indigenous and non-Indigenous Australians, particularly in rural and regional areas.
Here's a sneak peek of what the residents of Mossman Gorge thought about the program.
