Jangkar Waterfall - Lundu, Kuching Sarawak
Visit to old Batu Kawa Town, Lundu Town, Sematan Town, and to Jangkar Waterfall
4 of us, one from Sibu, one from Bulgaria, one from Kuching, and I'm from Limbang. And we plan to visit the western part of Kuching. First we had our breakfast at the old Batu Kawa town, they sell the famous Batu Kawa meat balls, and Kolo noodles.
Then, after breakfast we drive for an hour and reached a town called Lundu. There is a resort called Retreat resort, which is formally knows as the Siar beach resort, after the renovation, its pretty nice there.
After that we drove another 40 mins to Sematan, which is even closer to the beach. The town here are similar to the Lundu town, with a jetty in the town center, and a few small gateway resort.
Finally, we drove for 30 mins more to a village at Sematan called the Biawak village (biawak means monitor lizzard), and the road condition is not good, it was mud and rocks.
Upond reaching the village, get ready to paid some entrance fees, and tour guide fees to the local people there. We walk for more than 35 min, and reached our destination. The waterfall is call Jangka waterfall.
The water is clean, refreshing, and cold. Our guide is brave enough to jump from the middle part of the waterfall, which I estimate there are 3 - 4 stories high. This is a place that worth your effort to come and visit. Plan to come back again next month.

Footwear with good grip which may get wet

Dare Devil Sliders at Jangkar Waterfall - Lundu, Kuching Sarawak
Sampuant Waterfall in Kampung Pueh, Lundu, Kuching, Sarawak, Malaysia 一个经过油棕园的伦乐瀑布，古晋砂拉越
Arrive to park car after 9AM
Reached waterfall around 1:30PM because no signage, difficult to navigate. We lost our way.
Stayed at waterfall until 14:45PM
Everyone come back car around 17:45PM.
Reached jetty 18:21PM, but very long queue, only go into ferry 19:22PM($%&@# waiting 1 hour!)
No shade, umbrella would be a must. Use skin protection screen if want to bye-bye kusam. We didn't use because very good weather (cloudy with no rain).
No elevation, only the part to reach the base of water, need to climb using hands.
I used 1.5 liter (1 cola bottle), but if hot day surely need more. But my spare bottle 1 liter finished on the way home in car.
The final part descending to waterfall need to go through jungle, the grass and leaves may minorly scratch arms and legs a bit. But only scratched by thorny vines once, not many. You may wear long sleeve for better protection
The final part need climb down to waterfall using both hands, quite steep.
No leeches, no mosquitoes (maybe other day they fly come? hard to say lah)
Got time cam stop to see Simpadi Island on the way back, but many hungry mosquito nyamuk denggi.
Long walking distance, should be over 6km one way? (need verify GPS again)

Explore Borneo || Jangkar Waterfall
During my recent trip back home, we explored the hidden gem of Borneo - Jangkar Waterfall.
We initially had some trouble finding this hidden gem as its only well known to the locals living there and there wasn't much information on it through the internet. Hence why Ill try my best to give some info on how to get there! Hopefully it would be helpful to those who want to visit this amazing waterfall.
P.S again sorry for the terrible video quality and forgive me if any directions given isn't right!

=HOW TO GET TO JANGKAR WATERFALL=
- Nearest city to drive from: Kuching
- Approximate travel time from Kuching: 2-3 hours drive
Where is the falls?
- in Lundu
- head towards Sematan Beach
- after which you'll reach a junction and take a left into Jalan Biawak and keep on driving
- towards the end of the road, look out for Kampung Jantan which would be on your right
- Keep driving once you're in Kampung Jantan until you see a small local hut, look out for a handwritten sign that says Jangkar Waterfall
- Stop at the hut and a local would take you to where the hiking path starts and this usually incurs a fee - for us, it was RM100 ~USD 24 for 4 people; it varies according to the amount of people you're with
- The hiking trail from the start up to the falls would take about an hour depending on your fitness level
- The trail: It is a constant climb up to the falls with muddy trails, so I would suggest not going on a rainy/wet day
