Suzaka Classic Museum - Nagano - 長野県須坂クラシックミュージアム - 4K Ultra HD
Nagano Suzaka Classic Museum - 長野県須坂クラシックミュージアム : Located half an hour by car from the snow monkeys of Jigokudani ( Suzaka is a quaint historical town featuring a few museums like the “Nobutaka Oka Collection Suzaka Classic Museum” also known as the Suzaka Classic Museum.
Calling this place a “museum” is actually inaccurate and don’t expect too much, however if you always have been interested in visiting an empty Japanese mansion then this place will provide you with just that.
Entering this house is like entering into some kind of time vortex taking you back a few hundred years back into the past. While extremely cold in winter, this two storey house was in fact a pretty fancy place to live that only wealthy Japanese people could afford. Simple and quiet, but majestic in its way this mansion is a great example of past Japanese architecture and craftwork.

Guinness Record Smallest Helicopter GEN-H4 (Pt.1)
Certified by Guinness World Records UK in 2005 and 2008! ADEYTO meets 75-year-old Gennai Yanagisawa, who runs an electronics equipment company in Matsumoto, central Japan, has created a 75kg (165-pound) one-man aircraft which sets the world record for the smallest helicopter.
Email them if you want to buy one here: aviation@gen-corp.jp
Gen Corporation, the company employee Yasutoshi Yokoyama flies in the air by GEN H-4, a compact single-seater helicopter developed by Gen Corporation, during its test flight in Matsumoto in central Japan's Nagano Prefecture.
Yanagisawa developed the GEN H-4 helicopter — with rotors, a chair, footrest and handle bar — in the late 1990s.
Yanagisawa's helicopter is the smallest model in the world in terms of weight and its rotor length of 3.9 metres.
The GEN H-4 has two rotors turning in opposite directions to maintain stability, and four engines that enables a 30-minute flight with a top speed of about 56 miles per hour.
The helicopter has two identical rotors that turn in opposite directions making the need for a tail rotor obsolete. Each rotor counteracts the others torque keeping the helicopter free of any unwanted spin.
Controlling the GEN H-4 is very easy.If you wanted to go forward, you would pull the control bar toward you. If you want to go to the right, you would move it to left, and want to go left, move it to right. Of course you can reverse the helicopter. you only have to push it forward. The rise and descent are controlled by the throttle. If you push the throttle lever, GEN H-4 goes up, you let it, GEN H-4 goes down. If you wanted to turn to the right or left, you would push yaw-control-switch by right hand.
The entire rotor head is supported on a gimbal, which is slanted towards the direction of travel by the control bar. The pilot can therefore change their direction by shifting their weight.
It has four twin cylinder engines and can remain in the air even if two of the engines of malfunction. However, they have attached a parachute above the mast just in case....
Da Vinci designed what is thought to be the first vertical flight machine, an aerial screw, in the 1480s, according to Italy's National Museum of Science and Technology.
Yanagisawa, who was named after Hiraga Gennai, an inventor during the Edo period (1603-1867), by his father, became hooked on making helicopters after turning 50.
The first prototype he created in 1995 hovered several centimeters above the ground for just a few seconds, but after poring over books and other materials, including some 50 years old, he managed to solve the technical problems that had been hindering his flight.
Yanagisawa's initial motivation for his creation was to develop an unmanned helicopter for spraying pesticide.
Yanagisawa has sold five GEN H-4s in Japan and two in the U.S. for recreational use. The helicopters sell for about $57,140.

JAPAN: Two Castles in Two Days
In this second video of my trip to three castles in three days in Japan. I leave the Funtoco Backpackers hostel and explore Osaka during the daytime. The first location taking me to Shittenoji Temple, a temple from 593 AD thought of as the first buddhist temple in Japan. It was founded by Prince Shotoku. Along the way I walked up Tenjinzaka. I also rotated a little 転法輪印, or dharma wheel. I think I spun it the correct way haha.
Then I took a short metro ride to Osaka Castle or 大坂城. It was built in 1583 and since then has been restored. I didn't spend much time there though because it was so crowded.
I then headed to Mos Burger to have lunch. It's a Japanese fast food chain that has your typical fast food fare. I had a Teriyaki burger and a melon soda that was the greenest thing I've ever seen in my life. It was pretty good! And I had a little snack from a Lawson convenience store that was great.
I then got back on at Osakajokoen station to head to Mino Falls. I transferred at Osaka station to get on the Takarazuka line to head to Mino-o station.
Next up was a walk up to the actual falls itself. It turned out this was a fairly popular tourist destination as well. I took some back trails to avoid most of the crowds though. Along the path there were lots of stalls deep frying maple leaves, also known as maple leaf tempura or momiji. I knew I should have tried it so you guys could experience it, but I just could not bring myself to eat a leaf. I'm sure it was fine, but I just wasn't in the mood to eat a leaf.
Along the path I found a Sakura viewing spot, that didn't have any of the cherry blossoms blooming anyway. I found a statue of the dude on the 1000 yen bill. His name is Hideo Noguchi. I didn't realize it at the time though.
Mino falls itself was pretty disappointing all things considered, especially compared to the trail overall. So overall the hike was definitely worth it. After, I took a train back to Osaka station and then rode the shinkansen bullet train to Himeji, my next destination. There really is no feeling quite like taking a long distance train ride gazing out at the scenery of Japan.
After getting to Himeji, I walked down this cool shopping street called Nishi Nikai Machi to get to a Hostel called One Hostel and Standing Bar. Enjoyed a quick shower and then had Tsukemen, a Japanese dish where you dip noodles in a hot soup.
The next morning I headed to Himeji Castle, the largest castle in Japan. It is also known as the White Heron Castle both because of its color and because it looks like a heron sprawled out over the landscape from above. Along the way I saw the Himeji City Zoo and the City Museum of Art from the outside. I went inside Himeji Castle and it was much more impressive from the outside. Just seemed kind of small when you actually went inside.
I then headed to Takeda, which was an hour train ride north to see Takeda Castle. When I got to Takeda Station, it was nearly a ghost town it was so quiet and empty. Until next time...
Once again sorry for the terrible autofocus.

Shinjuku, Shibuya, Harajuku: Quick trips to our favourites! Japan April 2018
Hi everyone! It's our second to last day in Japan so we're spending the day visiting some of our favourite stores, coffee shops and cafes in Shinjuku, Shibuya and Harajuku! We start off in Sendagaya, visiting our old neighbourhood before heading to Shinjuku to eat some bakery noms and shop in one of my favourite stores, yodobashi camera. We then head back to Harajuku to eat some amazing ramen and fruit pies before spending almost a 10000 yen on stickers at B-side label! We finish with some shopping in some of my favourite stores in Shibuya. Thanks so much for watching!

Vision and Insight in Classic Japan a PIIRS Global seminar
Designed for students interested in traditional East Asia, religion, and the interaction of texts and the arts—or any combination of these subjects—this seminar will explore traditional Japanese culture with a particular emphasis on vision and it's relation to aesthetic, religious and ethical insight. Studies of the essential aspects of Japanese history, the mechanics of East Asian writing systems, and Mahâyâna Buddhism will be complemented by visits to celebrated gardens; opportunities to practice Zen meditation; and experience of traditional theater, music, and the tea ceremony. In addition, students will learn how the science of vision helps us understand the aesthetic achievements of garden designers, architects, and painters. The seminar examines how traditional Japanese arts have found a role in the world of modern Kyoto. Students will visit many important heritage sites around Kyoto, including the Nanzenji, Ryôanji, and Daitokuji temples; the National Museum; and Philosopher's Walk. Longer excursions include a day trip to Nara and a weekend trip outside Kyoto to a traditional inn or hot spring.
