Solo Cape York Adventure - Jardine River to the Tip of Cape York - 6/7
The end of my journey is near. After crossing the Jardine River, I explore the WW11 wrecks around Bamaga, then continue my way to Seisia, a stunningly beautiful community. With the sun rising I take my final drive north to the Tip of Cape York! The northernmost point of the Australian mainland.
This is part 6 of 7 of my Cape York Adventure, which I completed in June 2008 after 3 weeks travelling Cape York alone in my 200tdi Land Rover Defender 110 Station Wagon.

Day 6 of my big trip round Australia with Oztours. We leave Moreton Station where we camped overnight and head along the Telegraph Track to arrive at the Jardine River and some stunning waterfalls. In the Wet Season they all disappear. Along the way we stopped to see the turtles at Sheldon Lagoon. Please watch in HD.
Seisia to the Jardine River 2017
Riding from Seisia Holiday Park to the Jardine River Ferry via the Northern Bypass and Peninsula Development Roads. Weather was a bit rainy, which was good as it kept the dust down :-)
Travel time was about 40 mins.
Jardine River Crossing 1988
Crossing the Jardine River on Cape York peninsula in October 1988. This was part of our trip to Cape York with our family and another family. We each carried Betamax video recorders so were able to document by video much of the trip.
Crossing the Jardine was a highlight and certainly felt like an achievement at the time. Now 30 years on I look back with fondness at the more simple times and still feel a little pride at achieving what we did.

Day 4 of the safari tour of Cape York that I went on with Oztours. Voice commentary from John our tour guide and driver.
Here we leave the Archer River Roadhouse and head to the Wenlock River.
This day also involved a visit to the mining town of Weipa, but I've included it in a separate video because it would have made this one far too long.
Please watch in HD.
Jardine River Ferry.
Crossing the Jardine River just south of Bamaga, Cape York. This river crossing was the site of a fatal crocodile attack in the 1990s. The boys close the ferry for an hour at lunchtime.
