R D Moses Layout at the Jefferson & Cypress Bayou Model Railroad Club
The late R.D. Moses and his friend, Jack Luck, spent over 30 years creating and building this fabulous HO gauge model railroad layout that depicted the Texas & Pacific Railway in the Abilene, Texas area (where Nicholas and the TBC Chorale were last night) in the 1950s. The 14×48 foot HO scale model railroad layout was published in the May 2002 & January 2018 Model Railroader magazine.
When Mr. Moses passed away, the layout was moved from the backyard of his home in Dallas to a a replica of the early 1900’s train depot on the Jefferson Historical Museum in Jefferson, TX It is now preserved and operated by the Jefferson & Cypress Bayou Model Railroad Club. The only change they made was to convert it from DC to DCC operation.
Fiddling in the State of Jefferson | Stephen Bacon and Morgan O'Shaughnessey
Stephen Bacon of Bellwood Luthiers and musician Morgan O'Shaughnessey put together an historic and historical musical show in 2016. Bacon brought historic violins, fiddles and other stringed instruments and talked about their makers, the music the instruments brought forth and the importance of music in Southern Oregon's culture. O'Shaughnessey played these instruments in wild, splendid flights of sound that filled the high hall of the Southern Oregon Historical Society.
This video and others in the Stories of Southern Oregon collection was made possible with funding from the Oregon Heritage Commission, the National Endowment for the Humanities and the Institute for Museum and Library Services through the Oregon State Library with the support of Southern Oregon University.

Dr Mildred Fay Jefferson
Mildred Fay Jefferson (born 1927) is an American doctor and activist, born in Texas. Her father was a Methodist minister.
