It is the diorama, which stipulates the myth of Jeju and its architectures and nature.
Jejueupseong Fortress perfectly re-presents the fortress that was depicted in Tamna sullyeokdo (Paintings of the Inspection Tour of Jejudo Island) in 1702.
The Prehistory Gallery displays the unique natural environment of Jeju, as well as a prehistoric story of the ancestors and their culture.
Tamna Period Gallery I displays the history from B.C to the period of the three kingdoms, showing the change in culture, represented by changes in earthenware.
Especially, a discovery of steel swords and axes in the island, with an absence of steel-mines show that Jeju had once been colonized by a stronger country.
Tamna Period Gallery 2 presents the progress and development of Mid-Tamna culture, displaying relics and information.
Mid-Tamna period is the era of the latter period of the three kingdoms. It was the period when Jeju, in name of Tamna developed rapidly in terms of trade and interaction with the foreign countries.
Tamna Period Gallery 3 shows Tamna in ancient maps.
Tamna sullyeokdo drawn up in 1702 by Lee Hyeong-sang, is valued highly in the study of the politics of historical Jeju.
Joseon Period Gallery displays the political data, information on lifestyle, and the history of drifting ashore.
Jeju functioned as a horse farm, a place of exile, and a defense base against foreign invasions.
The Jeju National Museum provides an event, called 'Experience World' to the people to help them learn and experience about the traditions and culture of Korea.
In the theme of 'Learning and Communication', children are invited to learn and experience the traditional culture of Korea and to boost their interest and understanding.
Moreover, with the opening of the museum for extended hours every Saturday, the museum offers people various cultural activities and events free of charge.
Many musicians and art groups come every Saturday to promote harmony between family members and to maximize the education of the children.

The Trick Art Museum (트릭아트뮤지엄) in the tourist island of Jeju is a quirky museum dedicated to optical illusion.

Among them are Mountain Village, Hill-Country Village, Fishing Village, and Shamanism Village. Since March 2006, Daejanggeum Mini Theme Park is located in Jeju Folk Village, offering various things for visitors to see. Many scenes from episodes 27 through 32 of the historical drama, where Jang-geum studied medicine as a maid filmed in Jeju Folk Village. To fit the Daejanggeum theme, separate locations have joined together, and are now open to tourists. Visitors can enjoy the stunning scenery of Jeju at this amusement park. Korea Travel.

Opened in June, 2001, Jeju National Museum displays 950 pieces out of 7230 collections year round.

In the Exhibition room 1 of prehistoric age and archeology are 250 pieces of paleolithic and neolithic artcraft excavated at Gosan-ri which shows the lifes of the first inhabitants of jeju, the birth of villages, and trades. Tamna rooms (Exhibition room 2, 3, and 4) show the birth and development of Tamna culture, lifes of Tamna in Goyreo dynasty, remains from the shell mound in Gwakji-ri, desecration of a tomb in Yongdam-dong, lefts of Beophwasa, and old maps of Tamna. In room 5, the room of Joseon dynasty shows how Jeju Mok was established and operated, studies on Jeju, cultural development as a place of exile, lifes of Jeju as an island, rendezvous of the east and the west through artcraft excavated at the Jeju mok administration building site. Room 6 is decorated with about 50 donations from Ms. Kim Sunee such as potteries, wooden furniture, costumes. There is a special exhibition room and outside the Museum are sculptures such as dongjaseok and millstones which are allowed for visitors to touch so that they may notice the stone culture of Jeju.

The museum is open from 9:00 a.m. to 6:0 p.m. during the summer season ( March through October) and from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. during the winter season ( November through February) It is closed every Monday and on January 1st.

国立济州博物馆于2001年6月开馆，收藏7230多件文物, 其中常设展览精选的950多件文物。第一室为史前･考古室，这里展示北济州郡高山里出土石器等250多件遗物，从此可了解火山岛济州出现人类、产生村落、对外交流等济州史前文化发展的过程。第二、三、四室为耽罗室，展示耽罗文化的形成和发展过程、高丽时代的耽罗、郭支里貝塚遗迹、龙潭洞坟墓遗址、法华寺址、耽罗巡历图等。第五室为朝鲜时代室，这里通过牧官衙址出土遗物和西方资料，展现济州牧的设立和运营、流放文化、生活文化、济州艺术以及与西方的交流等。第六室为捐赠遗物室，这里展示金顺伊先生捐赠的陶瓷、木具、服饰等50多件展品。除了这些展览室以外，还有特别展览室和室外展览场。在室外展览场里展示童子石、碾子等，在此可以一窥济州的石头文化，同时也可以亲自动手体验。 夏季(3月-10月)开放时间为09:00～18:00，冬季(11月-2月)开放时间为09:00～17:00。元旦和每周一不开放。

Jejudo Island, which has given birth to such local aroma culture had huge difference with the process from the mainland, so it has very different characteristics and distribution of animals and natures from the mainland. Jeju Folklore & Natural History Museum is located in city, which was opened in 1984 as the only museum in the country to research, gather and display the local traditional antiques and natural history scattered throughout several places in the island.

Around a hundred kilometres off South Korea’s southern coast and lapped by the waves of the East China Sea is Jeju Island, an extraordinary holiday paradise situated on a volcanic island with temples, waterfalls, tee plantations and several leisure facilities. In the middle of the north coast is Jeju-Si, the island’s capital city. The first thing that catches the eye is Yongduam Rock that is situated on the city’s western periphery. It is an unusual lava formation that resembles a dragon’s head. The National Museum features the island’s history and culture including the clothing of the first settlers and the boats that first brought them to the island. The nearby fishing village of Haenyed boasts a special attraction, the island’s famous female divers. For generations these courageous women have dived to a depth of twenty metres for shells and seaweed without breathing apparatus and go for two minutes without breathing. On the western heights of the south coast is the Songaksan Crater, an extinct volcano whose slopes are covered with green vegetation. The steep coast and rocky bay indicate that powerful eruptions once took place there and perhaps the volcano’s benign appearance may only be a momentary lapse in the geological history of the island. Jeju Island is a remarkable place and well worth a visit!
