The International Olympic Committee announced that the 23rd Olympic Winter Games in 2018 are awarded to the city of Pyeongchang. South Korea will once again host the Olympics, this time, it will be the winter games about a month later.
With the upcoming Winter Pyeongchang Olympics, a record number of foreigners are going to be coming to South Korea for the first time. So this season, we shot the downtown area of the city where the PyeongChang Olympic Games are held or nearby city.
This series includes downtown scenes in Sokcho-si, Yangyang County, Gangneung-si, Pyeongchang County. And Seoul–Yangyang Expressway that offers better access to PyeongChang Olympic venues. People coming here must not miss our Pyeongchang Olympic Series!
Gangneung is the city where the actual PyeongChang Olympic Games are held and is the center of ice sports playing on ice rinks.
In Gangneung Olympic Park, Curling, Ice hockey, Speed Skating, Short Track and Figure Skating are held.

???? About Gangneung-si (강릉시)
Gangneung (Korean pronunciation: [kaŋ.nɯŋ]) is a city in Gangwon-do, on the east coast of South Korea. It has a population of 213,658 (as of 2017). Gangneung is the economic center of the Yeongdong region of Gangwon Province. Gangneung has many tourist attractions, such as Jeongdongjin, a very popular area for watching the sunrise, and Gyeongpo Beach. There is a ROK airbase south of downtown Gangneung which formerly doubled as a civil airport.
The city will host all the ice events for the 2018 Winter Olympics.

Gangneung-si in Gangwon-do is the first local district in Korea to host a coffee festival and support coffee artisans as well has promoted development of coffee-related contents such as the coffee museum, coffee street, coffee factory, barista academy, etc. With almost all coffee shops in the area roasting their own coffee beans, Gangneung-si is well-recognized as the city of coffee.

Located in Gangneung, Gangwon-do, Jeongdongjin is a picturesque area with a quaint, little railway station standing alongside the sandy beach.
The combination of the area’s railroad station, beach, and groves of pine trees makes Jeongdongjin a very peaceful and romantic mini getaway. The highlight of the Jeongdongjin tour, however, is the sunrise. The early morning sun reaching out over the ocean and outlining the dewy silhouettes of the station and surrounding pines is a sight that is straight out of a fairy tale.

Called it TBT (aka Throwback Thursday) because this is a vlog from my first month in Korea. My friends and I decided to take a bus to the ocean and have a 'taste' of the East Sea (aka Sea of Japan) before summer is over. I am only posting this now, because for a VERY long time I've been contemplating about whether I should post this video or not because my face looks awful and... a lot of other less personal reasons... in the end, I decided that it should be out there, why not!
I must mention this is probably the only video vlog which I've done in Korea while travelling.
So there it is, I hope you enjoy this short TBT vlog and I'll see you in my next video!~

Amazing Gangwon-do, 2015 Wow Korea Supporters' First Trip
Located in the mid-eastern part of the Korean peninsula, Gangwon-do Province is blessed with beautiful mountains and clean beaches that offer some of the best sceneries and vacation spots throughout the year.
As 2015 Wow Korea Supporters, this time we visited a few popular places cities such as: Sokcho and Gangneung from 15~17 May 2015.
Sokcho is a coastal city located in the northeastern part of Gangwon-do. Its major industries are aquatic products and tourism. Flanked by the East Sea and Mt. Seoraksan, Sokcho is an extremely popular tourist destination. In the first day, we went to Daepo harbor for the tasty dinner with the giant crab and then we moved to the K Seorak Mt. Family Hotel for staying at night. During that night we did have a helpful seminar and an interesting recreation conducted by a very talented and funny magician. On the next day, we went to Seorak mountain and used the cable car going up to the top of the mountain. After that we went to pick up the strawberries at Eunggol Strawberries village. Then we moved to Sokcho Central Market for the delicious Sundae Stew and had a mission tour around that area. After that we moved to Gangneung.
On the eastern portion of the Korean peninsula, looking over the East Sea lays one of Korea’s most well known Tourist destinations, Gangneung. On the evening of the second day, we arrived and walked around the Gangneung coffee street and then we went for the most tasty soft tofu house and enjoyed our dinner there. Then we went to Gyeongpodae pavillion and Gyeongpo beach to enjoy the sea, sand and sunlight, and then we moved to the Korean traditional house called Seongyojang house to stay at that night. For the third day, after the tasty breakfast we went moved to Jeongdongjin station to experience the rail bike along the east sea which was really nice! and then we went to the Haslla Art World museum to see the exquisite arts and had a healthy lunch there. After that we moved back to Seoul and that is the end of our first trip.
I did spend such a great time with the awesome 2015 WKS people. Gangwondo is just amazing, and you all need to come and see it!

4,380 items confiscated from the North Korean submarine which ran aground off the South Korean coast in September 1996 were put on show Friday (7/3) as talks continued in the United States to bring lasting peace to the Korean peninsula.
Confiscated material from the beached submarine were classified into 367 types, including submarine photographs, small arms, anti- tank rocket, underwater and underground infiltration equipment. These, and reconnaisance and signal equipment, were exhibited to the media on Friday.

This is my first time visiting SOUTH KOREA SEOUL YAY!!! this place was the best place to travel if love Korea and other KPOP fans. In this video is my first and second day in Korea sit back , relax and enjoy Cidrick Lim Fantastic Travel.
Here are the all activity and place we went:
First day
-We went to Gangneung city museum a place where all the history of korea are inside that place
-We went to Jeong dong jin train station a bullet train and with the awesome sea view with a fresh cold air.
Second day
-We went to Gangneung unification park is also museum but the museum is a BIG GIGANTIC BATTLE SHIP WOW.
-We went to Jeong Gang Won make our own bimbimbap YEA HEALTY FOOD
-We also went to PETITE FRANCE a place where all the famous drama film such as my love from stars and running man.
-We also do some work out LEG DAY on rail park you need to pedal to move the mini train which is fun and exciting.

강원도 강릉시 강동면 헌화로 990-1(정동진 2리)에 위치한 공원이다.
새천년 밀레니엄(2000년)을 기념하여 1999년 12월에 만들어졌으며 중앙에는 둥근 모양의 대형 밀레니엄 모래시계가 있다.
정동진해변과 이어져 있고 주변에 소나무와 벤치가 자리잡고 있어 바다를 감상하며 휴식을 취할 수 있다.
총면적은 26,268㎡이며 인근에는 정동진 시간박물관과 해시계, 정동진조각공원, 레일 핸드바이크 체험장 등이 있다.
휴일 없이 운영하며 입장료는 무료이다.
