World Wetlands Day Celebrated in Jerrabomberra Wetlands Canberra
World Wetlands Day is celebrated every year on 2 February. This day marks the date of the adoption of the Convention on Wetlands on 2 February 1971, in the Iranian city of Ramsar on the shores of the Caspian Sea.
We filmed at Jerrabomberra Wetlands today for World Wetlands Day. Thanks to Lori and Elsie from the Woodlands and Wetlands Trust and to Rosemary Blemings who are all in the film.

Snake-necked Turtle in Queanbeyan and Canberra
Clips of two different Snake-necked Turtles, Chelodina longicollis sunbaking at Jerrabomberra Wetlands, Fyshwick, Canberra (White-faced Heron also on log) and swimming and feeding in the Queanbeyan River, Queanbeyan NSW (near Canberra).
The swimming turtle at one stage is trying to catch baby carp to eat (you can't pick this up with the quality of this video, but it occurs when the turtle does U-turns in the water near the branch).
Snake-necked Turtles are the only native turtle to occur in the Canberra / Queanbeyan area. Their carapace (shell) can grow to around 25 cm long and their neck extends a similar distance from the shell. Both turtles shown in the video are fully grown.

MIT 2 - MTB Mountain bike ride-Jerrabomberra Bushland-Off Camber Hillside run
This is some footage from what I consider the last stretch of the Jerra single track loop. Commencing from the top of the loose steep section, with the sharp switback turn below it (where you can see a dumped car) and then continuing along the hillside before terminating at the dam.
