Following a successful twilight markets in 2013 the Market Management Team decided to give it another go.The Christmas period brings a lot of holiday visitors to the area,so running a Markets of this nature is a ideal oppertunity for the stallholders and the Lady Denman, so the 4th January was the ideal day,starting at 4pm.
The Weather was kind with overcast conditions and a NE wind to keep the Temps down.Food was one of the main items on the agenda with all sellers doing extremely well, in fact the Denmans BBQ and the Devonshire teas ran out.
The day turned out to be a bigger success than expected, with the number of visitors being one of the best yet, consequently a rewarding day was had by all.

The Lady Denman Maritime Museum held a Family Fun Day on the 2nd October 2013 to coincide with the Navy's International Fleet Review in Jervis bay prior to the ships sailing to Sydney for the Official events.

2015 Duck Derby Day
The Annual Duck Derby Day was held again on Australia Day Monday 26th January 2015 on Moona Moona Creek at Huskisson NSW on the shores of Jervis Bay. A southerly change went through the night before bringing temperatures down from the normal sunny hot Summer Conditions.
Numbers were down on previous years but a good time was had buy all, with a variety of food stalls to choose from.
The Duck race was a bit of a chore for the little ducks to work out whether to go with the tide or the wind but eventually there had to be a winner for another year.
DJI Phantom Flies the Lady Denman Grounds Monday 27-1-14
Early Monday morning nil wind ideal morning to put the Phantom up and have a Fly in the grounds of the Lady Denman Maritime Museum. Flying above the pond which has a variety of fish species (NO FISHING) the Boatshed which houses the Crest Resoration, the Porthole an old Fishing boat that was operational commercially fishing in Jervis bay until it became a Marine Park.
And finally the Museum buildings which house the Lady Denman Ferry she was built in Huskisson in 1911 and worked Sydney Harbour until she was retired 1979 and eventually ending up back home in Huskisson in 1981.

1. The Jervis Bay Territory is a territory of the Commonwealth of Australia. It was surrendered by the state of New South Wales to the Commonwealth Government in 1915 so the federal capital at Canberra would have access to the sea. It was administered by the Department of the Interior as if it were part of the Australian Capital Territory, although it has always been a separate Commonwealth territory. The perception that it is part of the ACT stems from the fact that under the terms of the Jervis Bay Territory Acceptance Act, the laws of the ACT apply to the Jervis Bay Territory.
2. The bay was sighted by Lieutenant James Cook aboard HMS Endeavour on 25 April 1770. In August 1791 the bay was entered and named by Lieutenant Richard Bowen aboard the convict transport ship Atlantic of the Third Fleet in honour of Admiral John Jervis, under whom he had served.
3. At the time of federation, to allay fears that it would have too much influence in the federal government, New South Wales had agreed to surrender territory for the federal capital and to allow it access to the sea. Jervis Bay was selected to be that federal port. NSW also granted to Commonwealth permission to build a rail corridor linking the two territories but this was never implemented.
4. Jervis Bay’s Booderee National Park is filled with outstanding natural beauty and is home to around 200 different bird species and 30 native mammal species. This national park is a significant place for the Wreck Bay Aboriginal Community and Koori people; Booderee is an Aboriginal word meaning ‘bay of plenty’ and visitors to the area are asked to take care and respect the grounds.
5. Moona Moona Creek is the perfect place to set up camp for a few days and relax on the soft sand overlooking the clear blue water. An ideal spot for the whole family, the younger kids will love splashing around in the safe, shallow waters around the shore. If you’re visiting at high tide you won’t be disappointed, kayaking is a popular past time in the creek as well as swimming so prepare yourself for a day in or on the water.
6. There are two small towns or villages in the Jervis Bay Territory. Listed from north to south, they are Jervis Bay Village (pop. 171) and Wreck Bay Village (pop. 198). Within the Booderee National Park is HMAS Creswell, the Royal Australian Navy College named after Sir William Rooke Creswell.
7. Showcasing a wide range of world-renowned maritime collections and artefacts, Jervis Bay Maritime Museum is a must-see. The museum displays a range of nautical equipment, models, photographs, paintings, drawings and more explaining the history and heritage of Jervis Bay. Located on the waterfront of Currambene Creek, the museum houses a selection of historic vessels including the Lady Denman ferry. The museum provides visitors with information about the rich history of the area including its Indigenous culture and its strong maritime history. There is a range of exhibitions showcased throughout the year as well as monthly markets held on the grounds featuring locally made produce and hand-made products. Exhibitions are changed frequently allowing you to visit multiple times and learn something new every time.

A brief look at the Ferry Well
The story of this fantastic ferry didn't stop when her service as a Sydney Harbour Ferry drew to a close in 1979.
January 1980, under trying conditions, she was towed back to Huskisson, and settled onto the sand inside Currambene Creek only a few hundred meters from where she was constructed in 1911.
The story of how the ferry was saved from being broken apart to become the centrepiece of a world-class community museum is a story of the determination of a group of volunteer men and women from the local community who risked life, careers, and reputations to make the then (Lady Denman Heritage Complex) and now the Jervis Bay Maritime Museum, JBMM - what it is today.
The museum is much more than just a Maritime Museum. Besides the rich maritime history, the museum explores the history of the local aboriginals, the first explorers, and settlers, the influence of the navy and politics in local affairs and much, much, more.
The story of Jervis Bay is a rich, exciting and sometimes controversial one. The museum gives you an insight into missed opportunities which ultimately led to the preservation of this amazing environment.
The museum never stops evolving, new displays are developed and the latest exciting undertaking will soon open the 'Ferry Well' to the public for the first time. The area will give us the opportunity to display more of the rich collection of artefacts currently not on display and tell more of the history of Jervis Bay.
