Oakville Indian Mounds
Oakville Indian Mounds and Park
The Oakville Indian Mounds Park and Museum, is dedicated to the preservation of the large Indian Mounds left in the area by the prehistoric Copena Indians, as well as presentation of information on the historical Cherokee and the so-called Black Dutch people of the area. The park encompasses a Cherokee council house museum, a portion of Black Warriors' Path, the largest Woodland Indian ceremonial Indian mound in Alabama, and the large Copena Indian burial mound.
Rising 27 feet high, this is the largest woodland mound in Alabama, with the base covering 1.8 acres and with a flat to of over one acre. Built by prehistoric Copena Indians, the mound is 2,000 years old, constructed from earth probably carried one basket at a time from the Oakville pond area approximately 300 yards to the east.

Alabama High School Athletic Association (AHSAA) State Cross Country Finals in Moulton, AL at Oakville Indian Mounds Park on November 14th, 2009. This is the girls class 6A 3.1 mile state finals start. Victoria is somewhere in there wayyyyy on the opposite side of the field from where I was filming. She was close to the outside right up front. There were 191 girls total and she finished 110th with a time of 22:46. She was the only girl who qualified for Northview High School in Dothan, AL...in fact, she was the only girl from Dothan or Houston County to qualify! YAY!!! Sorry for the poor video quality, I did this with my cell phone.

Listening is a more natural way of learning, when compared to reading. Written language only began at around 3200 BC, but spoken language has existed long ago.
Learning by listening is a great way to:
- increases imagination and understanding
- improves your listening skills
- improves your own spoken accent
- learn while on the move
- reduce eye strain
Now learn the vast amount of general knowledge available on Wikipedia through audio (audio article). You could even learn subconsciously by playing the audio while you are sleeping! If you are planning to listen a lot, you could try using a bone conduction headphone, or a standard speaker instead of an earphone.

Jesse James
Jesse Woodson James was an American outlaw, gang leader, bank robber, train robber, and murderer from the state of Missouri and the most famous member of the James-Younger Gang. Already a celebrity when he was alive, he became a legendary figure of the Wild West after his death. Some recent scholars place him in the context of regional insurgencies of ex-Confederates following the American Civil War rather than a manifestation of frontier lawlessness or alleged economic justice.
