Jesuitenkirche Luzern (St. Franz-Xaver) / Jesuit Church Lucerne (St. Francis Xavier)
This is a personal fan video of the Jesuit Church of Saint Francis Xavier in Lucerne (Switzerland). It is the first large baroque church built in Switzerland north of the Alps. The Jesuits were called in to Lucerne by the city council in 1573 to establish a college. Ludwig Pfyffer, mayor of Lucerne, offered annual financial support to the Jesuits out of his private funds. The Jesuit College of Lucerne was established in 1577 in Ritter Palace, a building originally erected in 1557 as a residence for mayor Lux Ritter. The construction began in 1667. By 1673 the shell of the church and the main façade were completed. The church was consecrated in 1677, though the interior was not yet really finished. Several side altars were still missing and even the high altar was only erected four years later, due to financial problems. The onion topped towers were not completed until 1893. he vault was redecorated in the mid-18th century.

Luzern - Jesuitenkirche

LUCERNE SWITZERLAND - PART 2 THE FACT BEHIND THE MUSEGG CITY WALL
In previous clip, we were at famous oldest architecture at Luzern/Lucerne city in Switzerland. It is Kapell wooden bridge in 14 century and Jesuit church in 1666. Today I will take you to other two famous places In Luzern. It is city Musegg wall and Lion monument. Both has value of historical symbol of Luzern city that you should not miss visiting.
It takes about 15 minutes on foot from Kapell wooden bridge to Musegg city wall. And it takes about 10 munites from City wall to Lion monument. When you use google map is also very easy to find the way to go.
The Musegg wall is part of the walls built in 1386 to protect Luzern city. I really liked to watch the ancient design watches When I come here. It has the oldest city clock was built in 1535. This watch allows to ring a minute earlier every hour than all clocks in other city.
Lion monument: The image of dying stone Lion honours the heroic sacrifice of Swiss soldiers. They defended Louis XVI at Tuileries in 1792. The great writer Mark Twain described the stone lion as the most moved sculpture in the world.

once in Lucerne
Lucerne (Lucerne) - one of the most beautiful cities in German-speaking Switzerland, the country and for all tourists. It is now known that including thanks to the legendary Wilhelm Tell. It was here that the famous story about a boy and an apple took place.
Kappelbrücke - wooden ancient bridge Kappelbrück. The name comes from Capella - the church at the river bank, on one side of the bridge. The length of the bridge is 204 meters.
Museggmauer
In Lucerne, a significant section of the medieval wall of the Museggmauer (built around 1400, 870 meters long) with eight tall towers has been preserved. Three of them are open to the public. The clock of one of the towers has the privilege of ringing every hour one minute earlier than all other city clocks. In Switzerland, now there are almost no cities with medieval walls, and this is another distinctive feature of Lucerne.
Jesuitenkirche
Jesuit Church of Lucerne. She served for two purposes - as a high school and as a place for Jesuit pastoral work. The Jesuits themselves arrived in Lucerne in 1574, and in 1576 opened their school here.
Lake Firwaldstet
The pond is also known as Lake Lucerne. It is located in the central part of Switzerland in the territory of several cantons at an altitude of 434 meters above sea level. The shores of the lake are a picturesque and inhabited area, which is called the cradle of Switzerland. There are about 30 species of various fish here, which is why the place is quite popular with fishing lovers.

Solothurn - Jesuitenkirche

A Visit to the Jesuit Church in Lucerne, Switzerland
In August I was in Lucerne, Switzerland. While in the Baroque Jesuit Church, the organist began to play. I took the opportunity to film the interior while the organ was playing. I originally posted only the video I took inside the Church. Here, I have added some more of my photos of the Church and commentary.
