About The Lost Tomb 2 (怒海潜沙&秦岭神树):
A group of daring young explorers reunites to take their tomb raiding adventures underseas, after a mysterious wreck is discovered in the stormy waters near the North Reef, in the Paracel Islands of the South China Sea.
The group’s protagonist is Wu Xie (Hou Ming Hao), a young explorer who comes from a family with a tomb-raiding pedigree. His uncle is a treasure hunter, and reading his grandfather’s own tomb raiding journal is a constant source of motivation for Wu Xie.
Wu Xie’s quest begins when he receives a mysterious email, instructing him to come to a portside location if he wants to see his uncle again. He complies, and at a marina, is reunited with Ning (Li Man), who tells him his uncle’s ship disappeared while he was helping her company investigate the wreck.
Ning has been tasked with putting a rescue team together and has already recruited a number of tomb-raiding raiding mavericks and veterans to the cause.
Upon – and below – the raging waves, they encounter a whole world of sea-bound menaces, including fearsome ghouls, haunted ghost ships, sea monsters, undead warriors, and armies of flesh-eating zombies.
Can the tomb raiders defeat the dark forces they find at sea? And will Wu Xie discover key clues buried in his grandfather’s journals that will guide him to the truth?
This series, which was based on the internet novel “Daomu Biji,” by Kennedy Xu, is the follow-up to the series “The Lost Tomb” (2015).
“The Lost Tomb 2” is a 2019 Chinese drama co-directed by Liu Guohui, Li Ang, and Zhou Wei.

These big mounds of earth are actually really old tombs, as well as part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Located in present day Ji'an in the Jilin province of China, these are the tombs of Koguryo noblemen. Only one tomb allows visitors at this moment, and that would be tomb no. 5. Unfortunately, no pictures allowed inside. I will say the inside was remarkably well-preserved, with murals of tigers and dragons inside.

Goguryeo tombs, officially known as the Complex of Koguryo Tombs, are tombs in North Korea. In July 2004, they became the first UNESCO World Heritage site in the country. The site consists of 30 individual tombs from the later Goguryeo kingdom, one of Three Kingdoms of Korea, located in the cities of P'yŏngyang and Namp'o. Goguryeo was one of the strongest Korean kingdoms in northeastern China and the Korean Peninsula from 37 BCE to the 7th century CE. The kingdom was founded in the present day area of North Korea, and part of Manchuria around 37 BCE, and the capital was transferred to P'yŏngyang in 427 CE.
Many of the tombs, such as the Anak Tomb No. 3, have wall paintings. The tombs are almost all that remains from this culture. There are over 10,000 Goguryeo tombs overall, but only about 90 of those unearthed in China and Korea have wall paintings. The Complex of Goguryeo Tombs inscribed on the World Heritage List contains the majority of these tombs with wall paintings. It is thought that the complex was used as a burial site for kings, queens and other members of the royal family. The paintings found on the tombs offer a unique insight into the everyday life of the Goguryeo period. The group includes the Tomb of King Tongmyong.
The murals are strongly coloured and show daily life and Korean mythologies of the time. By 2005, 70 murals had been found, mostly in the Taedong river basin near Pyongyang, the Anak area in South Hwanghae province, and in Ji'an in China's Jilin province.
The following criteria were considered by UNESCO to merit the Goguryeo tombs' inscription as a World Heritage site:
The wall paintings are masterpieces of the Goguryeo period. The tombs themselves reflect ingenious engineering capabilities.
The site offers exceptional insights into the Goguryeo culture, both into everyday life and burial customs.
The Goguryeo tombs are an important example of this burial typology.In May 2006, 2,360 individual tombs were discovered at the site of the ancient Goguryeo kingdom during work on the Yunfeng Reservoir. Ruins of an ancient city were discovered as well. Among the ruins was a city wall that was 1.5 meters tall and four meters wide. Evidence also suggested the presence of a moat. A dozen tombs were found within the city.

amazing place - Wandu Mountain City - Koguryo kingdom in 209
First built in AD 3, the city became capital of the Koguryo kingdom in 209, after the fall of the first capital, Guonei city (on the site of present-day Jí’an). There’s little left of the original buildings, but the layout has been cleared and it’s still immensely enjoyable scrambling about the terraces and taking in the views that surely must have been a deciding factor in establishing the capital here.

'Made in Old China' tells the story of a group of musicians who managed to protect their 2000-year-old tradition from destruction and become stars in a modern China.
The 'Old Tunes Music Band', farmers from Shaanxi Province, perform a musical tradition older than 2000 years - originally serving the purpose of accompaniment for their shadow-puppet shows - then, the only entertainment in rural China.
Despite the low status of artists and the small payment for their performances (in bags of rice), the “Old Tunes Music” thrived for generations as a part of the family heritage. This continuity was put at great risk during the Cultural Revolution. Although the musicians showed enthusiasm about communism and the future depicted by Chairman Mao, when asked by the Red Guards to destroy the traditional scripts they found themselves incapable of fulfilling the request.
