Taiji Players in Central China set New Guinness World Record
More than 52,000 Taiji lovers practiced the Chinese martial art in 15 venues in Jiaozuo City of central China's Henan Province on Sunday, setting a Guinness record for its large number of participants.
The event means to promote a healthy lifestyle among the masses and efforts to place Taiji on the list of World Intangible Cultural Heritage.
Taiji belongs to both our nation and the world. It is part of our splendid traditional culture of our Chinese nation. Taiji has been introduced to the outside world in the 30 years of reform and opening up and in many generations through efforts of Taiji masters. Taiji is making contributions to the health of the human beings, said Chen Zhenglei, a Taiji master.
Taiji is not only good for people's physical health, but also mental health. It is a very important aspect that the world is after. We believe in peace, health and friendship. So I think we should engage people around the world in practicing Taiji, said Zhang Yuping, deputy director of Martial Art Administrative Center, General Administration of Sport of China.
Some 1.2 million people in over 60 major cities around the world joined the promotion event the same day.

Mother & her long-lost son break down in tears, they finally reunited 30 years after he went missing
Info - Viral - Fun
This is the tear-jerking moment a pair of mother and son in northern China were finally reunited with each other after being separated for 30 years.
Li Jian, 33, went missing at the age of three when he and his family were walking on the street of the city of Changzhi in 1989.
The man, known by his nickname Jian Jian, then grew up in another city 90 miles from his birth parents after being found in a train station and taken home by his adoptive father, according to police.
Jian Jian and his mother were able to find each other thanks to China's missing people database, which lodged both of their DNA samples.
The emotional reunion took place recently at the XiuWu County Police Station in the prefecture city of Jiazuo, according to a social media statement posted by Jiaozuo Police.
'Son, mother is coming,' a teary Mrs Li cried as she rushed to hold her child, whom she had missed every day for three decades.
'Jian Jian, I have been looking forward to this day for 30 years. You have been so close to home all this time, but mother has been looking for you for 30 years,' Mrs Li said as she was supported by her daughter.
Jian Jian was also overcome by emotion and burst into tears while being cuddled by his long-lost mother.
He wiped tears off his mother's face and consoled her 'don't cry'.
According to Jiaozuo Police, Jian Jian was separated from his family at around 3pm on April 8 in 1989 in downtown Changzhi.
His family printed thousands of flyers and distributed them around bus stations, train station and hospitals in search of him, but they did not find any leads.
'I worked in the day and would space out whenever I thought of my son. I could not sleep at night because I kept thinking what might have happened to my son,' Mrs Li recalled to police.
It is said that Jian Jian's father died in self-blame during his endeavour of looking for his son.
But before his death, he had brought Mrs Li to the local police station to register their DNA samples having heard that the move could improve the chances of tracking down missing family members.
In September this year, police officers at the Xiuwu station discovered during a regular inspection into the local neighbourhoods that a man named Bin Bin (Jian Jian's current name) had been adopted by his parents.
Officers advised Bin Bin to provide his DNA sample, and Bin Bin agreed.
After running a search in the country's missing people database, they discovered that Bin Bin's DNA was a match with the ones given by Mr and Mrs Li.
Officers contacted their colleagues at the Luzhou Police Station in Changzhi to carry out investigation.
After further analysis confirmed that pair were indeed a match, policemen at both stations organised a reunion for them.
Yang Dongzhou, deputy director of the Xiuwu County Police Station, told Henan Urban Channel that the police required each family which had a male adult to provide two DNA samples in order to build a y-chromosome database.
An official of Xiuwu told the station: 'His adoptive father saw [the child] crying in the station, so he took him home. [He] did not know where to find his home and parents.'
Speaking of his adoptive family, Jian Jian said they had treated him as their own all these years.
'My adoptive mother and father treated me very well. Both [adoptive mother and my biological mother] are my mothers,' the man said with tears in his eyes.
Jian Jian's elder sister, who witnessed the reunion, said she and her family were grateful of Jian Jian's adoptive family.
'No matter what, they raised him for 30 years. We are deeply indebted to them,' she said.
According to a 2016 report on Chinese news site Caijing, around 200,000 boys and girls are estimated to be missing every year.
Among them, only 200, or 0.1 per cent, would be able to find their parents at some point of their lives.

Jane Hutcheon talks about her book 'China Baby Love'
Linda Shum's life changed 20 years ago when she read an article about the plight of unwanted babies in China. The country's one-child policy had created a population of abandoned, often-disabled children.
Within a year, Linda — from Gympie in regional Queensland — visited an orphanage in the small Chinese city of Jiaozuo. By 2004 she had established her own special needs school and later a series of foster homes for orphans in dire need.
ABC presenter and former China correspondent Jane Hutcheon has written a book on Linda's work, titled China Baby Love, which reveals the struggles she has gone through and shows another side to China's economic transformation. Amid the stories of heartache there are also surprising tales of survival and hope.

Chinese Martial Art Performance in Iron Pagoda, KaiFeng, Henan, China
Chinese Martial Art Performance in Iron Pagoda, KaiFeng, Henan, China
The Iron Pagoda (Chinese: 鐵塔) of Youguo Temple (佑國寺), Kaifeng City, Henan province, is a Buddhist Chinese pagoda built in 1049 during the Song dynasty (960–1279) of China. The pagoda is so-named not because it is made of iron, but because its color resembles that of iron. It is a brick pagoda tower built on the location of a previous wooden one that had been burnt down by lightning fire in 1044. Along with the Liuhe, Lingxiao, Liaodi, Pizhi, and Beisi pagodas, it is seen as a masterpiece of Song dynasty architecture.

Chinese Petitioners Accused Of Killing Police.

Despite the widespread anti-persecution incidents in China,
Chinese petitioners are still violently suppressed.
They are bullied by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).
Zhang Xiaoyu and her husband are petitioners from Jiaozuo
City, Henan Province.
They were detained by local police on July 17 after
petitioning in Beijing.
Two days later, the police claimed they stabbed a police
officer to death.
The police denied the family's request to meet them.
On July 18th, Zhang Xiaoyu's home was robbed, and the
computer went missing. Please see the following report.
ThePaper.cn reported that Zhang Xiaoyu phoned attorney
Chang Weiping on July 17 at 6pm that she and her husband,
Xu Yongchen, were returning to Henan from Beijing. They
were arrested by police at the Jiaozuo train station.
The police did not show any legal documents for the arrest.
On July 19, Jiaozuo City police officer Zhang Baoguo told
Zhang Xiaoyu's son, Xu Tianlong, that his parents had stabbed
a police officer to death. No details of the incident were given
and they declined Xu Tianlong's request to meet his parents.
In desperation, Xu Tianlong sought help from attorney
Chang Weiping.
Attorney Chang Weiping I am now communicating
with their son to confirm I will serve as the counsel.
I do not know any further details and cannot say much
more about it at this point.
The couple reportedly went to petition to Beijing for
more than a month.
Xu Tianlong went to his parents' home on July 18 and found
their windows were pried open and the computer was gone.
The police never showed up after it was reported.
Later, Xu Tianlong visited the police station
and learned it was done by the police.
The New Citizens Movement website reported Xu Tianlong
was taken away by the police on July 19 at 8:00 pm.
It is also reported that the knife used to stab the officer
actually belongs to the police.
In the fight, Zhang Xiaoyu accidentally obtained the knife
and stabbed the police officer.
But the police insisted the knife belongs to Zhang Xiaoyu.
Shaanxi petitioner Wang Lan, this incident has occurred
because they have been forced to petition.
If there's any way out, any chance to get justice,
she would not have done it.
This incident cannot make her into a mob or an unruly person.
Wang Lan says that people only petition
because of grievances.
But petitioning was met with suppression and illegal stability
maintenance.
A minor incident has now evolved into a major and
complicated one. The people are forced to fight for it.
Wang Lan emphasizes, that petitioning is in fact a dead end,
and no one would voluntarily do it.
Many old cases of petitioning were reportedly to end
and concluded.
But, in fact, the CCP has deceived the public and the
petitioners' cases were never settled.
Over the years, the Communist judicial darkness has led to
injustic and violent suppression in the name of stability
maintenance, and the severe opposition by the people
against the authorities.
Various public uprisings have taken place as a consequence.
Many cases of police being killed by suppressed Chinese
have happened;
Yang Jia in Shanghai killed a police officer,
Deng Yujiao from Hubei stabbed an official;
Niu Danao from Henan killed four during his fight against
forced demolition; and
Gong Jinjun from Henan stabbed the security guard
who intervened in his petition, to name a few examples.
Former Shaanxi TV reporter Ma Xiaoming, the confrontation
between the police and petitioners is not about the conflict.
The police carry out the CCP rule.
But, so many unjust cases are mainly
caused by the CCP.
Wang Lan indicates that many petitioners have given up
petitioning due to the brutal suppression by the authorities.
But, the bullying never stops.
Wang Lan,as long as the authoritarian regime continues, with
no supervision or democracy, people will continue to suffer.
It might as well continue to a fight.
Now I feel that results of the petition are not important,
but I will continue the petition.
I want an explanation for the deaths and the disabled victims
in my family. I want to know why.
I want to know if the state law will ever get implemented.
I want an explanation.
Reportedly, 17 years ago, Zhang Xiaoyu purchased a coal
mine in Jiaozuo City.
But the owner forcibly withdrew the agreement and caused
Zhang Xiaoyu to lose 7,000 tons of coal.
Zhang Xiaoyu won the lawsuit, but never received payment
for her loss.
In desperation, Zhang Xiaoyu embarked on a long
and arduous road to petition.

Footage: Teenage girl forced to dig through garbage can with her mouth
Footage showing a case of bullying in a school in the city of Jiaozuo in Henan Province recently went viral online. In the video, a middle school girl named Wang yells at another girl, Bian, telling her to find a lollipop in a garbage can using her mouth. Bian had to bend over several times and put her head into the trash, while Wang proceeded to kick Bian repeatedly, shouting abuse as she did it.
Many net users were shocked and angry at Wang’s behavior. Some said it broke the moral bottom line. The principal of the school claimed that Wang has faced severe punishment and the parents of both girls have reached a compromise.

Babies react dramatically after being tricked by parents.
Funny videos captured babies bursting into tears after their parents tricked them by faking the sound of their heads being hit and patting their heads to comfort them.
The four hilarious clips were respectively filmed in Huangshi city in Hubei province on July 2, Panzhihua city in Sichuan province on July 2, Hangzhou city in Zhejiang province on July 2 and Jiaozuo city in Henan province on July 1.
The parents can be seen holding their babies in their arms and using their hands to knock on something to make loud sounds before patting the babies' heads to conform them.
The parents can be heard saying: Ah did you hit your head? Does it hurt? It is ok, don't cry.
Since the babies believed that their heads were hit, they started to cry.
