Explore Braamfontein Johannesburg
Explore Braamfontein Johannesburg
Home to the main campus of the University of the Witwatersrand, the Neighbour Goods market, Braamfontein is Johannesburg's most youthful neighbourhood, populated by a cosmopolitan mix of students, academics and young professionals. The nightlife in this area is always buzzing and there are a great selection of hipster coffee shops, fashion boutiques and art galleries to explore as well as top museums and theatres. Conveniently linked to the Park Station Gautrain, easily walkable and with a vibrant cafe culture and lots of cool street art to admire, Braamfontein is an ideal place to explore on foot.
Hope you enjoyed my walking tour, let me know in the comments section below if there is anywhere else in South Africa you would like to me to explore.

Johannesburg - Road Trip in AUDI | Sunninghill to Brakpan | via Highways N1, N3 & N17
▶ Check out my gear on Kit:
#Johannesburg #Audi #Highway #Travel #SouthAfrica
This is highway drive (with Road Information) in Audi from Sunninghill to Brakpan in Johannesburg, South Africa. Johannesburg is most developed city and business hub of South Africa. Whole South Africa is rich of Natural Beauty.
There are also other routes from Sunninghill to Brakpan, but for this video I took N1 ,N3 and N17 highways.
I shot this video hand held on my newly bought Canon 200D DSLR camera. So this is also a test video to check in body stabilization which is not good and you will see lot of bumps in this video.
To make Road trip video quality better, I am planning to buy GoPro Hero 7 black action camera which is best in market in terms of video quality and has best stabilization. GoPro call it HYPERSMOOTH. So will buy this camera soon to give you best experience.
In coming road trip videos I will also try to give you more information about routes to help you more if you plan to drive those routes.
See you in next video with GoPro Hero 7 (Black) action camera.
Thanks for watching & Take care.

South Africa Vlog: Shopping in Johannesburg
December 21, 2012
We spent the afternoon at Sandton City, a huge shopping complex that is adjacent to Nelson Mandela Square. In the Square, you can also find the Sandton Public Library, which is very nice.
If you have a long layover or, like us, are stuck at OR Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg, you can easily go into the city by taking the Gautrain, a commuter train. Most of the stops are in residential areas, but if you want to do a bit of shopping, see a movie, etc., take the Gautrain from OR Tambo to Sandton City. You'll have to buy a Gold Card, which costs a one-time fee of 11 Rand, then add value to the card. A one-way trip from OR Tambo to Sandton City costs 115 Rand per person, which is pricey but still cheaper than taking a taxi.
If you're staying at the Garden Court Hotel, which provides a free shuttle bus service to and from OR Tambo Airport, take the Gautrain back to Rhodesfield Station, which is one stop before the airport. This will cost you just 27 Rand (compared to 115!)! The hotel is about a 10-minute walk from Rhodesfield Station. We strongly suggest that you take this option during daylight hours. If your shopping trip extends into the night, then we recommend that you pay the extra money to take the Gautrain to the airport then ride the free shuttle bus to the hotel, which is the safest option.

Visiting Johannesburg South Africa
In this video I speak to Ed, a lifelong Jo'burg resident and language tutor, about what to do and see in Johannesburg as a tourist. We also touch on life in Jo'burg past and present, and how language learning can be a bridge to help build friendships among people from different backgrounds and communities.
I would always recommend people do their own research on places, there is a wealth of information on Google and YouTube, and do talk to South Africans as well, they are rightly very passionate about their country, coming from the UK where patriotism is seen in a negative light, and often discouraged I find this beautifully inspiring.
Here are some links to some of the places mentioned in this video to get you started. Please do bare in mind that like anywhere there are some less safe areas, but having said that South Africa is a beautiful country both in its landscape and all its peoples, and I feel it is a must visit. If you have a question about an area please do feel free to ask us. I have listed all these areas not because I consider them all tourist attractions, but because I am interested in both the history and future of South Africa, and I feel the study of this information is interesting and important. I still cannot make my mind up on how I feel about organised Township tours, I am interested to go into these areas because I like meeting people from different cultures and backgrounds, but I worry that organised tours maybe seen as a type of people safari. I would be interested to know how others, particularly South Africans, feel about them.

Red Bus TV - City Sightseeing Johannesburg & Soweto - Soweto tour
Enjoy a live guided tour of Soweto plus a FREE walking tour
No visit to the city of Johannesburg is complete without a trip into its largest and most vibrant township, Soweto. It is home to more than 1.2-million people and the place where some of South Africa’s most significant historical events occurred.
There are several stops along the route and when the trip is complete it becomes clear how each stop ties into the theme of freedom, and how through the sacrifices of many of Soweto’s inhabitants, the struggle against apartheid was won.

Jozi Walk 2019 @ Turffontein Racecourse - Joburgtv LifeStyle - 20 May 2019
#JoziWalks is a series of free walking tours initiated in May 2017 by the JDA (the Johannesburg Development Agency) in partnership with local community activists, tourism entrepreneurs, walking tour operators, and the Johannesburg Heritage Foundation.
The aim of #JoziWalks is to create connections between communities by helping people to walk, observe and connect through locally-led walks that present a personal take on the culture, social history and development of the city’s different neighbourhoods. #JoziWalks also aims to get more Joburgers out of their cars and onto the streets to walk, and to engage with their neighbours and share insights and ideas about their neighbourhoods.
The #JoziWalks2019 explores a variety of neighbourhoods across the city. This years #JoziWalks tours include a comedy walk through Braamfontein, a booklovers tour of the Joburg City Centre, a celebration of the work of South Africa's nursing community in Soweto, a food, art and history walk in Turffontein and Women of Fire, a walk through Constitution Hill and Hillbrow led by artist Mbali Mdluli that is focused on women's history and public art.

It is no secret that I love Johannesburg, but I am really sick and tired of the bad reputation that it has. Come with me as I take you for a walk through the streets of Newtown and chat to locals and stakeholders in the area about what is happening there.
